Chapter 471 (2): No Point in Staying in a Cowardly and Incompetent Hell
Wayne’s residence.
After pouring the master a cup of black tea, Veryl turned and walked away gracefully.
Wayne nodded approvingly at the butler’s back. Then, he quickly flipped through the most recent newspaper. Three reincarnated angels sat across from him, wondering what important matter the Anointed One/Śār was going to announce.
The trio of magical girls wasn’t around, nor was Valkyrie. According to Veryl, Veronica had invited Kristen and Vera to stay the night at the Lando Estate, so they wouldn’t be coming back. Valkyrie, to continue her training for Vera, headed there too with Snow, the golden-maned lion.
Monica the black cat remained home and was currently meowing in Wayne’s arms.
Wayne had Death inhabiting his right eye as he petted Death with his right hand. Moreover, he had recently been promoted to one of the Seven Deadly Sins. He looked thoroughly villainous.
The newspaper's headline was a report from the front lines. Franc was more or less done for, with no way to fight further. They were counting down to her surrender.
On paper, it seemed like that would lead to Windsor losing a barrier protecting her from a head-on clash with Prussia. The two nations would break into an intense clash between air and naval forces to determine which of them was stronger.
That, however, wasn’t the case. The situation strayed from Wayne’s expectations.
Perhaps it was because Prussia had met no difficulties, and that the theoretically best army in the world had gotten cold feet in actual performance, the mustached Führer became careless, making a series of serious mistakes.
The most absurd one was Prussia starting a second front. Before Franc surrendered officially, while Windsor still posed a threat across the sea, they suddenly started another battlefield and deployed a large number of troops to the border of the Rus Federation.
“This doesn’t make sense. Before the battle even begins, how could they be certain that they would take Windsor down...”
“Or do they believe they could easily fight on two fronts because of overconfidence?”
Wayne lowered the newspaper gravely, reaffirming his resolution to enter the Prussia dungeon. The Führer was acting with unusual arrogance. Something didn’t add up.
“I’ll play a demon tonight to teach Auriel and the others a lesson. They spend so much time without finding the Anointed One. There has to be something wrong with their mindsets. They need a wake-up call.”
While petting the cat with one hand, Wayne continued seriously, “A fake Gate of Hell would open, so I’m warning you to play along. Don’t drag me down.”
Hestia and Olga didn’t quite understand what the Śār was planning, but Hesione did. She said with genuine feelings, “You’re too merciful. Again and again, you lay down the road to redemption before us. With an Anointed One like you...”
“Enough. Shut it. If we weren’t pressed for time, I would take care of you first,” Wayne interrupted. “Friendly reminder. Wrath and Gluttony no longer exist in Hell, having died at my hand. My replica and Pride’s replica have become the new Deadly Sins, Deceit and Fear.”
The two Thrones looked stunned, while Hesione looked like she had expected the development. She smiled. She knew that the Anointed One hadn’t lied to her. The unforgivable Wrath and Gluttony were gone. As for why Lust was still leading a carefree life... Well, perhaps the Anointed One had other plans for her, perhaps Lust was redeemable, or there could be another reason.
It didn’t matter!
What mattered was that the Anointed One’s arrival meant peace in the human world, and the Anointed One’s presence meant redemption for the sins of the Seven Sacred Virtues.
Wayne narrowed his eyes, which shimmered with black light. A discreet thread of spatial disturbances reached Bat Demon in the Lost Paradise, commanding him to pull out of Lust’s body and return to the Third Abyss, the City of Decadence.
Bat Demon nodded. Counting his five body counts, he departed from the Lost Paradise as soon as possible, arriving at the Third Abyss.
Hestia and Olga couldn’t sense the spatial disturbances from Hell, but Hesione could. Despite everything, she was still a little surprised.
It was true that the Anointed One was omnipotent, but... she thought she saw the Authority of a great demon lord. Was that really appropriate?
“So? Wanna see my sin?” Wayne smiled at Hesione, opening a black fissure with a wave. “I hope once you see him, Śār of Impurity, you will still believe I’m the Anointed One.”
Five sinful Books of Hell fell out of the fissure, corresponding to Pride, Gluttony, Wrath, Deceit, and Lust. The unconcealed energy could only be described as laden with sins. Hestia and Olga immediately drew their Sacred Lances of Heaven and entered a defensive stance, their hackles raised.
Hesione put her hands on their shoulders, shaking her head. “This is the Anointed One’s residence. Control yourselves. You cannot bear the price of offending the Anointed One. You’ll become sinners in Heaven.”
“So, Hesione, do you still think I’m the Anointed One?” Half of Wayne’s face writhed, revealing Bat Demon’s form. The six golden eyes darted toward the three reincarnated angels separately.
“...” x3
The two Thrones were stunned, confused by what had happened to the Śār. They considered the worst-case scenario that Hesione, the embodiment of Purity, had indeed fallen.
Hesione, however, didn’t share the concern. Seeing Wayne’s arrogant expression, she marveled, “The Anointed One never sees sins as shameful, yet I’ve been running away from my filthy body due to my mantle. Thank you for your teaching, and thank you for never giving up on me.”
(ㆆᴗㆆ)
Alright, as long as you’re happy.
Wayne had to give it to Hesione. If he weren’t racing against time, he would pin her to the sofa and ravage her thoroughly right before Hestia and Olga.
If you believe everything the Anointed One does is sacred, interpret this! Tell me what this means!
“That’s how it is. I’ll pay those angels a visit around dawn. You should preserve your energy tonight and be ready. Just do enough not to stand out.” He put the sins away and placed the black cat on the sofa. As expected of an incarnation of the Goddess of Death, she was such a veteran that even with her thoughts in slumber, she still showed no fear in the face of all those sins.
She continued to play dumb as she should.
“Great Archangel...” Hestia stepped forward with a complicated expression. “Have you... really fallen?”
“What if I have?” Wayne raised an eyebrow, turning to Hesione with amusement. “Are you going to kill me to protect the reputation of Purity?”
“No, that’s not it. I just...” Hestia clenched her teeth, lowering her voice. “No matter where you’re going, I hope that you’ll take me with you, even to Hell.”
So loyal!
Wayne nodded to himself. Unfortunately, he wasn’t Hesione, or he would’ve rewarded Hestia.
Cocking his head, he drew a line in the air with his fingers held together like a blade, and a quality sacred sword fell out. After a moment of thinking, he retrieved a sacred lance.
“I brought these from the Papal State. The mass-produced weapons you and Olga are using are mediocre. They prevent the two of you from tapping into your full power.” With that, Wayne walked away.
Olga picked up the lance and handed Hestia the sword. Patting her on the shoulder, Olga said admiringly, “Don’t worry. If you ever follow Sir Hesione to Hell, and we meet each other again, I’ll go easy on you.”
“Speaking as if you could defeat me,” Hestia huffed, turning to Hesione. “Clergywoman, what’s going on with Śār Hesione? Has he fallen or not?”
“The Anointed One could never fall.”
“...” x2
How could you continue to roleplay with a revered look on your face? Do you have no shame at all? x2
Olga shook her head, and Hestia sighed. The secretary played her role so convincingly that it was no wonder the Śār favored her. They couldn’t do it even if they wanted to.
***
High Reverend’s office, head office of the Church of Moonlight.
Under the twin guards’ derisive gaze, Wayne opened the door and walked in like it was his home, locking the door behind him and creating a soundproof barrier with practiced ease. Then, with the same ease, he pushed the documents aside and lifted Filomina to the desk.
Filomina gaped at him. Before she could say anything, her lips were sealed. Flailing her arms, she was soon lost in the scumbag’s skillful kiss.
It left the high reverend dazed. She stared at the pretty boy blankly.
With one of his luxury cars in his arms, Wayne couldn’t contain the urge to take it for a ride. Although he was pressed for time, Filomina was no challenge at all. Under the facade of a strong career woman was an easy conquest. He could make enough time to take care of her.
He pinned her to the desk, unbuckling his belt while lifting her white robe.
“W-wait!” Filomina propped her hands on the desk in panic. “What are you doing? This is my office—”
“So? This isn’t our first time. Don’t think I don’t know that you procured the desk to—” Wayne’s gleeful remark came to a halt. From the ajar door to the inner room, a red head and a silver head popped out. They were Holy Maiden Corte and Galen, whom Wayne planned to contact.
(ᖛ‸ᖛ)ᖛ‸ᖛ)σ(゚д⊙)Ծ‸Ծ;)
“...” x4
The silence stretched for three seconds. Then Wayne lowered his hand blankly. Filomina pulled down the bunched-up hem of her robe from her waist, glaring at the shameless man.
Weren’t you full of it earlier? I dare you to keep going!
“Mina, why didn’t you tell me that you weren’t alone?”
“I was going to, but was I able to open my mouth?”
“You did.”
“You blocked it.”
They bickered quietly, blaming each other for the embarrassment. It wasn’t a problem, though. Wayne had an unusually thick skin, and as long as he wasn’t embarrassed, the others would be the ones to feel awkward.
He coughed into his fist and knocked on the desk, saying in a loud voice, “Don’t think I don’t know, Mina. You procured the desk so that you could work properly. How professional of you!”
The Holy Maidens rolled their eyes. Clicking her tongue, Filomina knocked Wayne with a fist.
It was too light to be a punch. It didn’t just seem like flirting; it was flirting.
Corte and Galen rolled their eyes harder in the face of such a display.
“Holy Maidens, why are you in Londan? I remember that when I parted ways with the two goddesses, you... Forget it. It doesn’t matter.”
Wayne, ever a mature man, decided to be the big person and forgive them. Although it was a fact that the two bore most of the responsibility for hiding in the inner room without saying anything, the ignorant shouldn’t be blamed, and they did not know Wayne would visit today. As the current situation was the result of a series of coincidences, he would absolve them of blame.
This is it. This matter will not leave this door!
“Believe me. The reason Galen and I are here... is quite important.”
Corte sighed. She hadn’t bound her chest today, so her curves drew the eyes quite well, especially when Wayne hadn’t calmed down from his earlier arousal. She seemed no less than his other luxury cars.
He felt a sharp pain in his waist. Wincing, he looked away and took the chair behind the desk, pulling Filomina into his arms.
With a huff, she put her arms around his neck, fixing the two Holy Maidens with a fierce glare, focusing especially on the Holy Maiden of Moonlight. She had a possessive streak.
“I don’t care if it’s something important. It’s better to arrive at the right time than to arrive early. Although you didn’t actually show up at the right time...” Wayne grumbled before getting to the point. “I happened to need you for something. This saves me a lot of time.”
“I’m not done yet, Wayne!” Corte came up and put her hands on the desk solemnly. “The goddess gave me an important oracle. Unlike the vague one last time, the oracle this time is clearly expressed. There’s no room for misinterpretation.”
She turned to look at Galen, who was still peeking out from the inner room. “What are you waiting for? We received the same oracles. You’re not running away from this.”
Galen looked aside while dragging her feet toward the desk. She didn’t understand. She couldn’t wrap her head around it. The goddess didn’t even try to maintain appearances now... Something had to be wrong!
Wayne could tell what was happening. Ines had pushed so hard that Kaleb and Siluk had no choice but to match her freak. He observed the two Holy Maidens with amusement.
Galen lowered her head silently, while Corte blushed, but said with inappropriate energy, “Wayne, you’ve met the goddess. I won’t interpret Her oracle for you since you must know what it says.”
“How would I know? I’m not your goddess. How could I possibly know what oracle She gave you if you don’t tell me?” Wayne chuckled, but then he felt another pinch in his waist. “Forget it. I can’t help you. Why don’t you seek someone else?”
“Easy for you to say. Even if I want to say yes, the goddess won’t...” Corte didn’t finish her sentence since it would be too sacrilegious. Pressing her hands together before her chest, she cocked her head and said, “Help a friend out!”
“...”
I don’t have friends who ask me for hundreds of millions without warning.
