Riku smiled, turned to Tsunade, and said, "There’s still one more."

Naruto nodded anxiously. "Yeah, Granny Tsunade. And Sasuke, too."

Kakashi froze. "What happened to Sasuke?"

Riku gave a light smile. "Just like you, Uchiha Itachi cast a genjutsu on him."

Kakashi frowned.

He hadn’t expected that. Itachi’s concern for his younger brother was... complicated. But Kakashi knew all too well how terrifying the power of Tsukuyomi was.

He had once believed his Sharingan could resist Itachi’s technique—but he’d failed.

Tsunade looked over at Kakashi. "You just rest for now."

With that, she followed Riku and Naruto to Sasuke’s hospital room.

As they approached, Sakura stepped out, visibly distressed.

The moment she saw Riku, her eyes welled with tears. Sasuke had been injured too badly, Naruto and Riku had disappeared, Kakashi was unconscious, and she had no one to lean on.

"Riku, Naruto... you’re finally back."

Seeing her so close to tears, Riku gave a reassuring smile. "Don’t worry. Sasuke will be fine. We brought back Lady Tsunade—the strongest medical ninja in the world."

Sakura looked at Tsunade, her eyes filled with both curiosity and awe.

In her heart, she thought, She’s beautiful...

There was no denying it—Tsunade’s beauty was stunning. Shikamaru’s father had once said she was the most beautiful woman in the shinobi world. He hadn’t been exaggerating.

Tsunade glanced briefly at Sakura, reading the subtle emotional tension between her and Sasuke. She must be someone important to him, she thought silently.

She walked over to Sasuke’s side, checked his condition, and nodded. "Not as serious as Kakashi."

"Riku."

Riku leaned against the windowsill, smiling. "I’m counting on you this time. I’ve already handled one case."

Tsunade rolled her eyes. With Riku’s chakra reserves and physical endurance, treating even Kakashi shouldn’t have tired him out. Still, she stepped forward and began the treatment herself.

About five minutes later, Sasuke woke up.

The first people he saw upon opening his eyes were Naruto and Sakura.

Seeing that Sasuke had recovered, Riku exhaled lightly. "There’s still one more. I’ll leave it to you, Lady Tsunade."

Tsunade shot him a look. With his current level of medical ninjutsu, she shouldn’t even need to be here.

At that moment, Guy, who had just arrived, suddenly stepped forward. "Yes! Please, you must treat my student too, Lady Tsunade!"

Without responding, Tsunade followed Riku to Lee’s room.

She examined Lee, then frowned slightly.

Guy, standing beside her, felt his heart tighten at her expression.

Tsunade turned toward Riku.

Riku looked at Guy and spoke gravely, "Might Guy-sensei... I’m afraid Lee’s condition isn’t optimistic. It can be treated—but the success rate is low. If the surgery fails, Lee could die."

"So the choice is his: undergo surgery, or give up being a ninja."

Guy froze. His fists clenched. Though he didn’t want to accept it, he knew Riku wasn’t lying.

The choice was cruel.

If Lee didn’t undergo surgery, he would never be a ninja again.

But if he did... he might not survive.

And for Lee, who had built his life around becoming a great shinobi—giving that up was no different than dying.

But the decision couldn’t be made lightly.

Guy stood in silence, wanting to say something to comfort Lee, but seeing the boy’s expression, he couldn’t speak.

He turned to Tsunade. "Isn’t there a better option, Lady Tsunade?"

Tsunade sighed. "Just as Riku said. The injury has affected his nerves. The surgery is extremely delicate and has a very low success rate."

"If he chooses surgery, he must be prepared for failure."

For Lee, it was devastating. Whether it ended in death or in the loss of his ninja path, the result was unbearable.

Neither Guy nor Lee could come to a decision. The weight of it was too much.

Seeing their silence, Tsunade stood. "Alright. Once you’ve made your decision, come talk to me."

She turned to Riku. "Let’s go."

Naruto followed, frowning deeply, troubled by Lee’s impossible situation.

Outside Lee’s room, Riku looked at Tsunade. "That surgery really is difficult."

Tsunade nodded. "Even if I perform it myself, the chances of success are only about fifty percent."

Shizune walked beside her, glancing back and forth between Tsunade and Riku.

She couldn’t help but feel their relationship was unusually close.

Once they exited the hospital, Riku was preparing to head home, but Tsunade suddenly said, "I don’t have a place to stay."

Riku turned around, frowning. Even Shizune looked at Tsunade in surprise.

It was... odd. Tsunade’s words carried a strange undertone.

Riku raised an eyebrow. Shizune was right there—what was Tsunade playing at?

Still, he replied, "Didn’t the village arrange housing for you? Shizune-san, the village council must’ve prepared a residence for the future Fifth Hokage. It’d be absurd if you didn’t have one."

Shizune nodded quickly. "It must’ve been arranged. We probably just haven’t checked yet since we came straight from the hospital."

Tsunade cast Shizune a sidelong glance. Shizune immediately sensed danger in that look.

And wisely, she said nothing more.

Riku thought for a moment. "Lady Tsunade, you’re part of the Senju clan. The Senju residence still exists."

Although the clan wasn’t as powerful as it once was, it hadn’t disappeared. Most of its members had shifted to support roles in logistics or education.

So her claim of having nowhere to stay was obviously intentional.

Tsunade didn’t get angry—she just smiled. Of course, Riku felt the pressure behind that smile.

After a few seconds of silent eye contact, Riku gave in with a sigh. "Alright, I’ll walk you to the Senju compound."

In the end, he came up with an excuse to avoid having Tsunade stay at his own place.

The truth was, they hadn’t yet taken that final step in their relationship. If they lived together now, Riku wasn’t sure he could hold back.

Tsunade smiled. "Haven’t you always been interested in unusual ninjutsu? The Senju clan has plenty. If you’re capable of learning them, I won’t stop you."

Shizune blinked, stunned. She hadn’t expected Tsunade to be this generous.

She looked at Riku thoughtfully. It really seems like Lady Tsunade cares deeply for him. She truly sees him as her disciple.

After a moment’s reflection, Shizune nodded to herself. It made sense. Riku had been learning medical ninjutsu from Tsunade.

And Tsunade had already passed on nearly everything she knew in the field.

Clearly, she regarded Riku as a true successor.

Thinking it through, Shizune felt it all clicked.

Riku gave a wry smile. "Are the Senju clan’s techniques really that amazing?"
