Riku smiled and said, "Are you talking about the Giant Turtle in the Hidden Cloud Village? I’ve heard of it. They say there’s an island on its back. Sounds pretty interesting."

Samui turned to look at Riku and saw that he was still smiling, though to her, it felt more like a bitter smile now.

Then she said, "If you ever get the chance, come visit the Hidden Cloud. I’ll take you to see the Island Turtle."

Riku nodded. "Then I guess I’ll have to survive this battle first."

The presence of the tailed beast was overwhelming. Although it didn’t seem to affect Riku much, Samui could feel its pressure clearly. Her grip on her short sword tightened involuntarily as nerves set in.

Seeing her like that, Riku reached out and held her arm gently. "Don’t worry—we’ll get out of this alive."

He only did this to reassure her.

But Samui gave a bitter smile. "Even if I want to believe that, we’re up against a tailed beast. And it’s angry."

By now, the Three Tails was swimming toward them, letting out an enraged roar.

Clearly, the earlier attack had infuriated it.

Riku released her arm, looking toward the Three Tails with calm eyes. "Maybe... this time we’ll really pull it off."

Truthfully, although Riku had never fought a tailed beast before, he felt no fear. If push came to shove, he could always rely on his Mangekyō Sharingan to control it—or use his Wood Style to bind it.

Either way, he was confident in surviving.

But with Samui by his side, those two options weren’t easy to use without revealing too much.

Despite it being his first time facing a tailed beast, Riku was actually excited.

A battle with a tailed beast... now that was a challenge.

As the Three Tails closed in on the shoreline, it spotted Riku and Samui standing by the water’s edge.

Its eyes narrowed—it had clearly recognized the two humans who disturbed its rest.

Without hesitation, the Three Tails began forming chakra and unleashed a high-pressure water cannon aimed directly at them.

The blast was immense—five to six meters thick. If it hit, Riku might survive. Samui definitely wouldn’t.

Seeing this, Samui’s face tightened. "Just as expected... Tailed Beasts really are on another level. That kind of ninjutsu right from the start..."

Just as she was about to dodge, Riku’s hands flashed into motion, forming a rapid sequence of hand seals.

"Water Style: Water Severing Wave!"

Dozens of high-pressure water jets surged up from the sea.

Each one was several meters thick and fiercely powerful.

In an instant, they collided with the Three Tails’ water blast.

BOOM!

The violent clash sent towering waves crashing through the nearby sea, the entire area churning with force.

Yet incredibly, Riku’s Water Severing Wave had completely shattered the Three Tails’ attack.

Riku looked up at the beast and smirked. "That was impressive. Took dozens of my water jets just to break one of yours."

Water Severing Wave was an A-rank Water Style jutsu—extremely powerful in its own right.

That it required dozens of jets just to repel one attack from the Three Tails only proved how strong the beast really was.

Samui stared at Riku like she was looking at something inhuman.

He had just called the Three Tails powerful, but to her, Riku was the monster.

Then, as the Three Tails swam closer—barely a hundred meters away now—Riku bit his finger and slammed one hand to the ground.

"A war between monsters..."

Summoning Jutsu!

A huge puff of white smoke exploded outward.

Samui suddenly felt the ground shift beneath her—she was rising.

Ssssssshhhhh~

A deep, guttural hiss echoed around them.

"Hahaha! Riku, what did you call me out for this time?"

As the smoke cleared, Samui’s eyes widened.

She was standing on the head of a massive crimson serpent—at least a hundred meters long.

Samui looked at Riku, at the colossal beast beneath her feet, and felt like she couldn’t even find words to describe him.

Not only was he powerful on his own, but he also had a Summoning Beast like this one—clearly from one of the three great Summoning Grounds.

She recognized this serpent: it had to be from Ryūchi Cave.

Riku looked up at her and said, "This is my Summoning Beast, Shinya."

"Since this is a battle between giants, I figured it was time to bring him out."

Samui gave a silent nod.

As soon as Shinya saw the Three Tails, his eyes narrowed. "Tch. Riku, you dragged me out to fight this thing? That’s a Tailed Beast!"

Riku smirked. "What, scared?"

Shinya grinned with sharp fangs. "As if. I’ve just never fought one before. That’s the Three Tails, right? What’s it doing here?"

Riku replied, "We’re in Kirigakure on a mission. Ran into him here. You’re gonna have to put in some effort this time."

Shinya hissed, "Relax. I’ve never fought a tailed beast before, but I’ll help you out."

Seeing Shinya appear only made the Three Tails angrier. It roared, opened its jaws, and began gathering chakra again.

Shinya’s eyes widened. "It’s forming a Tailed Beast Bomb. Get ready!"

Riku’s eyes shifted toward the island—less than a kilometer away. If that Tailed Beast Bomb landed here, the whole place would be wiped out.

Hinata and the others would be in danger too.

"Leave the Tailed Beast Bomb to me," Riku said. "Once it fires, charge in."

Shinya didn’t know what Riku was planning, but he trusted his summoner.

Worst case, he could always swallow Riku and use Reverse Summoning to return to Ryūchi Cave.

There was a massive gap between Summoning Beasts and Tailed Beasts. No matter how strong a summon was, it couldn’t win alone. Only by coordinating with its master could it stand a chance.

Especially in the sea—Three Tails’ natural habitat.

Moments later, the Tailed Beast Bomb was complete.

BOOM!

The Three Tails launched it directly at Riku.

The attack moved at terrifying speed. If it hit the island, it would annihilate everything—including Hinata and the others.

Riku frowned, pulling out two kunai.

"Riku, be careful!" Shinya called out. "Do you really have a way to deal with that?"

Even Shinya couldn’t fully believe it. Riku was strong—but this was a Tailed Beast Bomb. One of the most powerful attacks in the ninja world.

Riku held the two kunai horizontally in front of him.

"Don’t worry," he said.

Samui stood beside him, confused by what he was doing. Still, she drew her short sword and stood at his side.

The Tailed Beast Bomb rushed toward them—mere seconds away.

Just before it struck, glowing chakra markings burst into existence around Riku. The air shimmered with complex runes.

Chains of script spread out like a web across the air.

"Flying Thunder God: Guide!"

Fwoosh—!

The instant the Tailed Beast Bomb hit the seals, it vanished into thin air.

Riku had transported it tens of kilometers away—far out into the open ocean.

KABOOM—!!

Even from that distance, the shockwaves of the explosion were visible. The flames lit up the sky, and the roar echoed back across the water.

Samui and Shinya both stared in stunned silence.

"That... that was the Flying Thunder God Technique, wasn’t it?" Samui breathed. "The one created by the Second Hokage...?"

Shinya blinked in disbelief. "Riku, you really used the Flying Thunder God to teleport a Tailed Beast Bomb...?!"

With an awed grin, Shinya laughed. "Hah! I knew I picked the right summoner! Damn!"

Samui still hadn’t moved, her voice low and full of shock. "You... you actually know the Flying Thunder God Technique. That’s the Fourth Hokage’s signature jutsu. The reason he was called the Yellow Flash..."
