Chapter 131 : I Can Also Cast Impure World Reincarnation

Riku had thought Tsunade was about to make some earth-shattering decision. Turns out, it was just something like this.

He strolled over and said, "I thought you were about to jump into the river."

Tsunade shot him a glare. "Brat, when did you become this nosy?"

The idea of Tsunade committing suicide by jumping into a river was just Riku messing with her.

He chuckled. "So, Tsunade-sama, have you made up your mind? Are you going to heal Orochimaru? Or return to Konoha?"

Tsunade met Riku’s gaze, but after a moment, her eyes drifted away.

Clearly, she still hadn’t made a decision.

Riku gave a dry laugh. "Actually, I know how to use Impure World Reincarnation too. If you really want to see your loved ones again, I can summon them for you. No need to ask Orochimaru."

Tsunade froze, eyes narrowing as she looked back at him. "Impure World Reincarnation is a Forbidden Jutsu. How do you know it?"

Riku stepped closer, lowering his head a little. "Eh... I learned it in secret."

Tsunade frowned and followed alongside him. Since she was a bit shorter, she tilted her head up slightly to look at his face. "You stole it? That’s Impure World Reincarnation we’re talking about. You do know how dangerous that technique is, right? If anything goes wrong, someone could really die. It’s a Forbidden Jutsu for a reason."

She was genuinely concerned. The jutsu sealed within the Scroll of Seals weren’t listed as Forbidden for nothing—they were incredibly dangerous.

Seeing how seriously she was staring at him, Riku scratched his head. "To be honest, I’ve secretly learned a lot of jutsu. Quite a few Forbidden ones, too. But don’t worry—I’ve never run into any real danger."

He raised his hands in mock innocence, trying to play it off.

Tsunade didn’t look convinced. She kept her sharp eyes fixed on him, brows drawn together.

After a long pause, Riku added awkwardly, "Okay, yeah, some of them are dangerous. But I’ve learned them all, and I’m still fine. Don’t worry, Tsunade-sama. I never use techniques unless I’m confident I can control them."

But Tsunade was still staring at him with that same serious expression, making him a little uncomfortable.

After a moment’s thought, Riku said quietly, "I really can use Impure World Reincarnation to bring back the people most important to you... from the other side."

Tsunade’s expression wavered. Finally, she looked down and murmured, "No. You were right earlier... I don’t think they’d want to be brought back."

Riku blinked at her in surprise. "Really?"

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "What, you doubt me?"

Riku laughed. "No, no—it’s just hard to believe I actually got through to you. That you were moved by what I said? I don’t buy it."

Honestly, he didn’t know if Tsunade had truly changed her mind.

But it didn’t matter. Whether she had or not, Riku would accept it. After all, he knew how things were going to play out in the end.

Tsunade would definitely return to Konoha.

Tomorrow was the day of her appointment with Orochimaru. Right now, she was caught in a storm of indecision—but Riku’s words earlier had clearly shaken her resolve.

After giving him another fierce look, Tsunade said, "Come have a drink with me."

Riku declined. "I’m underage. I can’t drink."

In truth, he just didn’t like alcohol.

But before he could finish his excuse, Tsunade had already grabbed his arm and started dragging him along.

Riku didn’t have anything better to do, so he went with her.

Back at the same izakaya from before, Tsunade ordered sake for herself and juice for Riku.

The result was an odd sight: a stunning woman drinking heavily, seated across from a young man sipping fruit juice. She rambled on and on, while he could barely get a word in.

Hours passed like this, Tsunade drinking and talking endlessly about Nawaki and Dan. Riku sat there, quietly enduring it, almost dozing off.

He really wasn’t interested in these stories.

Maybe it was Tsunade’s age—older people tended to reminisce like this.

But after a few sips of juice, Riku noticed something off.

There was something mixed into his drink. Ordinary people wouldn’t detect it, but Riku’s medical ninjutsu was almost on par with Tsunade’s. And with his unique physique, no medicine would have any real effect on him anyway.

Still, the fact that Tsunade had gone to this length told him everything.

She’d made her decision.

To avoid revealing anything about his body—or interfering with her choice—Riku slumped over, pretending to pass out.

Seeing him collapse onto the table, Tsunade—cheeks flushed from alcohol—set down her cup.

She stared quietly at Riku for a long time.

Then she said softly, "I’m sorry, Riku... but I still want to see them both."

She knew Riku could perform Impure World Reincarnation, but she also knew how dangerous the technique was. She couldn’t let him take that risk.

That danger should fall on Orochimaru.

After finishing her last glass of sake, Tsunade stood and gently lifted Riku onto her back.

Even though he was taller than her, she had no trouble carrying him. Strength was never an issue for Tsunade.

Riku wasn’t actually unconscious. Being suddenly carried on Tsunade’s back caught him completely off guard.

He’d thought she would just leave him behind at the izakaya. No one ever cared much about someone like him.

As Tsunade carried him, her face flushed even deeper.

And since Riku wasn’t really unconscious, the whole situation was extremely awkward for both of them.

It took just three minutes for Tsunade to return to the inn with Riku on her back and lay him down in her room.

She looked at him for a long time. Thanks to the ninjutsu Riku had used to simulate a suspended animation state, she couldn’t tell he was still conscious.

But carrying him just now had been... deeply embarrassing.

After a moment to compose herself, she muttered, "I’m sorry, Riku. Stay here for a bit. I’ll come back after things are settled with Orochimaru."

She gave him one last long look before turning and leaving without hesitation.

Tomorrow, she would make sure Jiraiya couldn’t stop her.

Ten minutes after she left, Riku sat up from the bed, rubbing his face and sighing.

"That was embarrassing. She almost caught on... Good thing I used the suspended animation technique. Otherwise, that would’ve been awkward as hell for both of us."

He leaned back with a faint smile.

"Still, just as I thought—Tsunade chose that path in the end. All my words didn’t change a thing."

He thought of Naruto and gave a wry chuckle.

"Guess I really don’t have the talent for ’Talk no Jutsu.’"

Of course, Riku didn’t believe words alone could change someone’s heart. But Naruto was the protagonist of this world, after all—rules didn’t always apply to him.

Still, Riku had wanted to try, just to see if he could sway Tsunade.

The outcome was disappointing.

But there was one silver lining—Tsunade hadn’t used a chakra-suppressing drug on him.

Not that any drug could affect him anyway.

But it showed that Tsunade had held back with him—shown him mercy.

Unlike Jiraiya, who really had been drugged by her. His chakra had been completely disrupted—he couldn’t even use Summoning Jutsu properly.
