Hoshigaki Kisame stopped speaking and raised Samehada, charging at Riku with a violent slash.

Riku calmly stepped forward and drew his blade.

Clang!

Sparks flew as steel met steel, the clash echoing loudly. The sheer force behind Riku’s strike caused Samehada to emit a pained screech.

Hissss—

Kisame had intended to overpower Riku, but to his surprise, Riku’s terrifying strength cleaved deep into Samehada, sending tremors down the blade.

Without hesitation, Riku leapt up and slashed across Kisame’s torso with brutal precision.

From the doorway, Naruto watched the battle with wide eyes. Seeing Riku land a clean hit on Kisame, he couldn’t help but shout, "Alright, Riku!"

But Riku wasn’t smiling. His brows drew together in a faint frown.

Pffft—

In an instant, Riku whipped his blade to the side and stabbed sharply.

Blood sprayed.

Kisame, wielding Samehada, had tried to flank him for a sneak attack—but the Kisame Riku had slashed just now was only a clone.

The real Kisame, hidden in a veil of mist and water, had attempted a silent strike.

But Riku had already anticipated it.

His blade pierced Kisame’s abdomen, slicing through muscle and chakra channels as blood spilled from the deep wound.

Kisame stared in disbelief. He hadn’t expected Riku to counterattack so quickly.

The water clone beside him collapsed into a pool.

But Riku’s strike had landed—his blade was buried in the real Hoshigaki Kisame.

Riku stared coldly into Kisame’s eyes. "For someone known as one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist... you sure go down easy."

As if on cue, Kisame’s eyes flashed with killing intent, and he swung Samehada fiercely toward Riku.

Just before the blade could make contact, lightning exploded from Riku’s body.

A barrier of pure chakra surged forth—an armor of crackling electricity that enveloped him in a blazing shield.

Bang!

Samehada struck the shield and was violently repelled.

Szzzzzzt!

Samehada cried out again, its hide burning from the electric backlash.

It had been shocked.

Riku’s Lightning Shield wasn’t just flashy—it was terrifyingly destructive. For most shinobi, even brushing against it would reduce them to ash.

Only a living weapon like Samehada, imbued with massive chakra reserves, could endure such voltage without disintegrating.

Still, it was hurt—and worse, frightened.

The blade pulsated, trembling. Its grotesque mouth opened slightly, teeth bared, but the confidence it once exuded was gone.

Riku narrowed his eyes, amused. "This sword’s... interesting."

Samehada seemed to recoil at the sight of him, its once-solid body softening, fear seeping into its form.

Kisame gritted his teeth. "Damn it! What’s wrong with you now?"

His strength depended heavily on Samehada’s support. Without its chakra absorption and amplification, he was far weaker.

But even worse—Samehada had burned through nearly one-tenth of its chakra reserves in that one clash.

That was no small thing.

Kisame was called the "Tailed Beast without a Tail" for a reason. With Samehada’s power, he wielded chakra rivaling a Jinchūriki.

But now, the sword was losing its nerve. And fast.

Riku’s taunting words hit their mark, and Kisame’s face twisted with humiliation.

"You little brat... I’ll show you real power!"

With Samehada unwilling to fight, Kisame grasped its hilt and began forcefully absorbing its chakra into his own body.

He drank it in greedily.

In moments, his chakra surged—expanding to monstrous levels. It roared within him, practically visible in the air.

Fists clenched, Kisame charged at Riku like a beast unleashed.

Riku’s gaze flicked to the flood of chakra flowing from Kisame—it was immense, dense, uncontrolled.

He chuckled. "Taijutsu, huh? You want to go hand-to-hand with me?"

Kisame appeared in front of Riku in an instant, fist crackling with chakra, aiming a devastating punch at Riku’s face.

But Riku stood calmly, unmoving.

Suddenly, his body erupted with lightning.

His Lightning Style Chakra Mode flared to life—similar in form to the Raikage’s, but subtly different.

Unlike the Raikage, whose transformation altered even his hair and physique, Riku’s Lightning Armor remained purely external—an outer shell of concentrated lightning.

No physical change. No theatrics. Just raw, deadly chakra coiled around his body like a storm waiting to strike.

This was Riku’s original technique:

Lightning Style: Thunder Armor.

A B-rank jutsu in complexity, but requiring an enormous chakra reserve to maintain. Most shinobi would never even come close to wielding it.

To use it freely required chakra on the scale of a tailed beast—at least half of Kurama’s total chakra.

And Riku?

His chakra reserve was already comparable to the full Nine Tails.

To him, maintaining Thunder Armor was effortless.

BOOM!

Kisame’s chakra-infused punch smashed into Riku’s armor—and stopped cold.

Riku didn’t flinch.

Kisame’s eyes widened in horror. His attack hadn’t even moved the boy.

In that instant of shock, Riku’s armor retaliated.

CRACK!

A massive column of lightning burst from Riku’s body—a bolt as thick as a tree trunk—blasting Kisame point-blank.

KRAKABOOM—

The explosion launched Kisame hundreds of meters into the air. A shockwave tore through the block, reducing everything in its path to rubble.

The hotel in front of Riku vanished in a cloud of dust and broken stone.

He stood still amid the destruction, the only thing untouched.

Onlookers from the street stared in shock, frozen.

Kisame’s fate was uncertain—his body no longer visible.

Riku finally let the Thunder Armor dissipate.

Powerful, yes—but draining. He wouldn’t have used it unless it was absolutely necessary to put Kisame down.

Behind him, Naruto had collapsed onto the floor in stunned silence.

Even Jiraiya and Uchiha Itachi were momentarily frozen.

Jiraiya muttered, "What kind of Lightning Style jutsu was that...? There’s no way Kakashi taught him that. Kakashi’s Lightning Style isn’t anywhere near that level."

Itachi’s expression darkened. He had clearly underestimated Riku.

He could sense that Kisame wasn’t dead—but he was badly injured. Very badly.

To take down someone like Kisame in under a minute... that wasn’t just rare. It was terrifying.

And Riku... was only twelve years old.

Kisame’s life force remained stubborn. Despite the devastating blow, he clung to life through sheer resilience.

After the dust settled, Riku leaned against the doorway, glancing toward Jiraiya and Itachi with a relaxed smile.

"So, Master Jiraiya... between you and Uchiha Itachi, who’s stronger?"

He had no intention of fighting anymore.

Jiraiya’s eyebrow twitched. He could see Riku was deliberately sitting this one out.

"You little punk..."

He clenched his fists—not out of anger, but sheer exasperation.
