Now that his woman was the Fifth Hokage, Riku had no intention of defecting.

In fact, even if Riku were to become a missing-nin now, Tsunade probably wouldn’t want to hunt him down. Knowing how much she cared for the village, turning Riku into a traitor would be the greatest heartbreak of her life.

She had once been willing to sacrifice her own life for Konoha. Asking her to betray it—even if she agreed—would leave her with unbearable guilt.

Riku felt it was foolish to even consider letting his woman make such a sacrifice for him.

He smiled and casually wrapped an arm around Tsunade’s waist.

She flushed lightly.

But she didn’t push him away—Riku rarely took the initiative. Usually, it was her making the moves.

Looking at her with a grin, Riku said, "Actually, I have another kekkei genkai. But if I told you what it was, it might scare you to death."

Tsunade blinked, taken aback. What could possibly shock her at this point?

"I thought you said you only had one," she said, frowning slightly.

Riku smirked. "I lied."

Tsunade’s eyes narrowed. She twisted his waist playfully. "How dare you lie to me."

She didn’t actually use any force—if she had, with her strength, she’d have ripped the muscle right off his side.

Riku chuckled, then suddenly grew serious. He looked into her eyes and released the seal on both of his own.

A surge of pupil power burst forth.

Tsunade’s breath caught in her throat as she stared, wide-eyed, into his gaze.

"This... how is this possible?"

"Is this also a bloodline ability you gained through fusion?"

Riku revealed his Sharingan.

And not just any Sharingan—Mangekyō Sharingan.

This wasn’t an elemental-based bloodline limit. It was an organ-specific kekkei genkai—one that couldn’t be synthesized by merely combining chakra natures.

Tsunade knew that very well.

Riku then deactivated his Mangekyō, closing the eyes naturally.

He had shown that he could open and close them at will—proof that they were truly his.

Tsunade was stunned. A ridiculous thought flashed through her mind—was Riku actually from the Uchiha clan?

Was she involved with someone from the Uchiha clan?

The idea felt surreal.

She didn’t hold any prejudice toward the Uchiha, but it made her wonder: if Riku really was one of them, how had he survived the Uchiha clan’s massacre?

Seeing her expression, Riku grinned knowingly. "I know what you’re thinking. I got these eyes the day the Uchiha clan was wiped out."

"I’m not from the Uchiha."

Tsunade blinked, confused. But then she remembered—she had looked into Riku’s background thoroughly. Even reviewed family records from several generations back.

As one of the Legendary Sannin, Tsunade would never get involved with someone she hadn’t fully vetted.

She knew Riku’s lineage inside and out. His family had no connections to the Uchiha, or any of the major clans. He was the son of civilian shinobi.

Still, the Mangekyō Sharingan was no ordinary dojutsu. How could a non-Uchiha, a civilian-born ninja, awaken it?

Tsunade voiced the question in her heart. "How do you have the Sharingan? Even among Uchiha, not everyone awakens it. And you’ve already awakened the Mangekyō?"

Riku smiled faintly. "Unlike Wood Style, the Sharingan seems to be a special trait of my body. I sensed it for the first time when I was leaving the Hyuga compound, on the same day the Uchiha clan was annihilated."

"I noticed ANBU surrounding their district. There was a strong stench of blood in the air. I knew something terrible had happened."

"I snuck in and found corpses of Uchiha clan members scattered across the streets. But what struck me the most was that most of their eyes had been removed."

"Then I made my way to Sasuke’s house. I saw that his parents had been killed too, but their eyes were still intact. Maybe Uchiha Itachi couldn’t bring himself to take his own parents’ eyes."

"When I examined Sasuke’s father’s eyes, something strange happened. I felt a connection, like our eyes were bound by a mysterious force. Then, a powerful surge of red chakra flowed from his eyes into mine."

"It lasted a while. When the red chakra finally disappeared... my own eyes opened into the Mangekyō Sharingan."

Riku spoke calmly, recounting the events of that night.

He left out some of the more dangerous details.

"Right after I absorbed the Sharingan from Sasuke’s father, I was discovered by Uchiha Itachi. I barely escaped using a genjutsu cast with the help of the new Sharingan."

"That’s how I ended up with these Mangekyō. I think Sasuke’s father had prepared them—maybe intending to pass them on to Itachi or Sasuke. He’d left behind a sealing technique in his eyes."

"I don’t fully understand how it worked. But maybe because of my unique constitution, I was able to absorb that pupil power and awaken the Sharingan."

Riku shrugged lightly, as if he himself still found it hard to believe.

Tsunade was speechless.

The whole thing was so surreal she almost doubted him—but he had shown her his Mangekyō with his own eyes. There was no reason for him to lie.

And she trusted him.

Still, the coincidence of it all left her stunned.

Riku chuckled. "Actually, that illusion I cast on you before—it was an S-rank genjutsu. But it can only be used with Mangekyō Sharingan."

Tsunade remembered it clearly. That illusion had felt terrifyingly real.

Then her expression turned serious. She looked at him and said, "In the future, don’t use those eyes unless it’s absolutely necessary. They’re too dangerous. Too many people are keeping watch."

Hearing that, Riku felt a wave of warmth. She was worried about him.

He’d made the right call choosing her. Tsunade was mature and knew the weight of such secrets.

Riku smiled. "Actually, both Wood Style and Mangekyō Sharingan require enormous chakra reserves to function properly. Otherwise, no matter how powerful they are, they’re wasted."

"For example, Captain Yamato can use Wood Style—but his techniques are nothing compared to the First Hokage’s. The First Hokage could suppress tailed beasts. Yamato can’t even come close."

"Same goes for me. The reason I can use both Wood Style and Mangekyō so effectively is because of my chakra levels. Without that, having both these bloodline limits would be meaningless."

Tsunade nodded. "Yes, chakra reserves are everything for a shinobi."

"But your chakra is abnormally large. You had Nine Tails-level chakra at just thirteen. Even my grandfather—the First Hokage—probably didn’t have that kind of chakra at your age."
