Chapter 134 : Orochimaru Summoning, Riku Where’s Yours?
In truth, Riku believed that if he and Orochimaru fought again, the result wouldn’t be any different from last time.
Although Jiraiya knew Riku had previously fought and defeated Orochimaru, he still suspected Orochimaru might have been caught off guard during their last encounter.
It was a reasonable doubt. Riku was undeniably powerful, but he was also young. His actual combat experience was still open to question.
That was fair enough.
This time, Orochimaru was extremely cautious. In their last battle, he hadn’t even gotten the chance to unleash most of his jutsu before Riku overwhelmed him.
Orochimaru smiled as he looked at Riku. "It’s been quite a while, Riku. I’m sure you’ve grown stronger since then. But don’t think I’ll fall for your tricks like last time."
Riku met his gaze calmly. "I beat you once. I can do it again."
Standing nearby, Kabuto watched their exchange silently. He didn’t interfere—he knew he wasn’t even close to being Riku’s match.
Orochimaru knew that too. He turned to Kabuto and said, "Go deal with Shizune. Look for an opening to capture Tsunade and get her out of here."
Kabuto nodded.
But first, he stepped over to a tree, wiped some blood onto its bark, and said, "Better summon some help."
Orochimaru didn’t object—he couldn’t form hand seals in his current condition and needed backup.
At the same time, seeing Kabuto preparing a summoning, Jiraiya bit his thumb in response.
Riku glanced at him and sighed. "Master Jiraiya... have you forgotten the state of your chakra?"
Even as Riku spoke, Kabuto completed his Summoning Jutsu.
Jiraiya also finished his seals and activated his own.
With a burst of smoke, Kabuto and Orochimaru appeared atop a massive serpent’s head.
Jiraiya, on the other hand, summoned... a tiny toad.
He stared at it in disbelief, the corners of his mouth twitching.
Naruto, watching from behind him, was equally stunned. "Seriously?"
Shizune looked just as exasperated.
Riku sighed. "Your chakra still hasn’t recovered..."
The tiny toad, Gamamaru, gave Jiraiya a cheerful "Yo!"
Only then did Naruto grasp how badly off Jiraiya was. Determined to help, he stepped forward and began forming seals.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Another puff of smoke—another tiny toad.
Bright yellow, but still small.
It was Toad Kat.
Riku couldn’t help but be mildly amused. Master and student, failing at the exact same time in the exact same way.
At such a critical moment, Jiraiya’s chakra was shot due to Tsunade’s drug, and Naruto hadn’t mastered proper summoning yet.
Both of them turned to Riku. They couldn’t do much—but Riku could.
They’d seen the sheer might of Riku’s summon before.
But Riku merely smiled and said, "Summoning beasts aren’t needed for this."
Jiraiya thought about it and realized he was right. The snake Orochimaru had summoned was powerful, but not enough to seriously threaten him.
If Orochimaru had summoned Manda, that would be a different story.
Only someone like Gamabunta could hold his own against Manda.
And even then, Manda had a slight edge. In a direct clash, Gamabunta was usually the one on the back foot.
Orochimaru, however, didn’t know that Riku had also signed a contract with Ryūchi Cave.
After summoning the giant snake, Kabuto moved to direct it toward Jiraiya and Riku.
The creature’s massive form loomed like a mountain, exuding terrifying pressure as it surged forward.
But Riku remained completely calm.
Naruto, on the other hand, frowned. "How do we beat that? It’s huge..."
He’d seen Riku summon an even bigger snake before—but Riku wasn’t summoning anything now.
Naruto assumed maybe Tsunade had drugged Riku too.
Shizune glanced at Riku curiously, then asked Naruto, "Does Riku have a summon beast?"
Naruto nodded. "Yeah, a giant snake—same as Orochimaru."
Shizune froze. "Another snake from Ryūchi Cave?"
Naruto shrugged. "I dunno. It’s big, though."
He didn’t fully understand the significance of the three great summoning realms, but Shizune guessed that Riku’s snake must also be from Ryūchi Cave. After all, when it came to giant snakes in the shinobi world, Ryūchi Cave was the source.
As the summoned serpent barreled toward them, Riku smiled. "Master Jiraiya, how’s your chakra looking?"
Jiraiya shook his head. "Still no good. I’ll need you to handle this one."
Riku didn’t respond. He turned to face the oncoming beast. It was fast for its size, already just a dozen meters away.
As it closed in, Riku rapidly formed hand seals. "Earth Style: Water Dragon Bomb!"
Jiraiya blinked in disbelief. "Riku—there’s no water source here! Don’t use Water Style techniques like that, you’ll just—"
He didn’t even get to finish his sentence.
Riku had already executed the jutsu.
Too fast—just three hand seals.
A roar split the air.
Water droplets condensed from the air around Riku, instantly forming a massive water dragon tens of meters long.
With a high-pressure burst, the dragon launched forward, crashing into the snake before it could react.
The water dragon coiled around the serpent, gripping tightly—then gave a vicious twist.
BOOM.
The snake vanished in a puff of smoke, forcibly returned to Ryūchi Cave.
Shizune and Jiraiya stared in stunned silence.
Jiraiya’s mouth opened slowly. "You actually pulled off that level of Water Style... in a dry field... I can’t believe it."
Shizune was equally speechless. Riku had cast a B-rank jutsu with raw chakra alone—no water source—and it had enough power to completely overwhelm a Ryūchi Cave summon.
The strength of his ninjutsu was terrifying.
Even Tsunade, trembling nearby, raised her head. Seeing Riku’s composed expression during the battle only deepened her recognition of his talent.
This was the first time Riku had really shown what he was capable of.
So far, he’d only used Body Flicker and Water Dragon Bomb, but that alone made it clear—just as Jiraiya had said—his power might truly be at Kage level.
Naruto watched in awe. He’d mastered the Rasengan, but even that didn’t seem as grand or destructive as Riku’s Water Dragon Bomb.
Meanwhile, Orochimaru and Kabuto found themselves ankle-deep in the puddle left behind.
They watched Riku carefully.
Orochimaru, unable to use ninjutsu due to his condition, now had no way to counter many of Riku’s techniques.
Just as Kabuto was about to charge in and try close-quarters combat, a flicker of lightning erupted from beneath Riku’s feet.
The leftover water on the battlefield created a perfect conductor.
Zzzzt!
"AHHH!"
Neither Orochimaru nor Kabuto had time to escape. The lightning surged through the water and struck them both head-on.
