Chapter 523: Old Auntie

Hikari woke up in an instant, her body’s instincts reacting faster than her thoughts. She didn’t even have time to see what was attacking her before red Chakra surged out.

"Hum!"

Amidst a light sound like grinding bones, several crimson Susanoo ribs instantly solidified around her.

Although it was only the most Elementary skeletal form, it still violently knocked away the "unknown object" that had been pressing down on her.

"Ouch!"

A cry of surprise, filled with pain and drunken haze, rang out.

Hikari sat up quickly, and by the crimson light emitted by the Susanoo, she finally saw the attacker clearly.

It was Tsunade, who had been knocked to the ground by the Susanoo ribs and was currently rubbing her waist with a dazed expression!

Hikari’s gaze involuntarily fell upon Tsunade’s front armor, which had slightly opened due to the fall and was now heaving violently as she gasped in pain.

The astonishing scale was visually striking even in the dim light.

Hikari was stunned.

She subconsciously lowered her head to look at her own front armor, which, while well-developed, was clearly of a different specification.

Then she raised her hand and, with a somewhat dazed expression, gestured in the air, comparing Tsunade’s proud curves with her own.

"Ho... how could it... be this big?"

This thought bubbled up uncontrollably, carrying a mixture of shock, confusion, and even a hint of subtle frustration.

She usually didn’t pay much attention to such things, but this direct comparison still dealt her quite a shock.

"Is... is this the size of front armor a normal human can possess?"

Tsunade was also fully awake by this point. She sat on the floor, looking at the black-haired girl before her who was still maintaining part of the Susanoo skeleton with a mixture of vigilance and confusion, then glanced around the room.

Had she walked into the wrong room?

"Ahem..."

Tsunade coughed awkwardly, climbed up from the floor, and brushed the dust off her clothes, trying to put on the dignity of an elder, though her eyes were still drifting.

"That... Hikari, it’s a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding. I was happy and had a couple of drinks, so I might have been a bit muddled and walked into the wrong room."

Hikari didn’t speak, merely silently retracting the Susanoo Chakra, and the crimson skeleton dissipated into the air.

She continued to stare at Tsunade with those jet-black eyes, especially at her chest, her gaze complex and unfathomable, as if she were reassessing some kind of "threat level".

Tsunade felt a bit creeped out by this gaze and quickly found an excuse to slip away: "I won’t disturb you, I’ll be going now."

With that, Tsunade rubbed her still-aching lower back and head, turned, and walked quickly out of Hikari’s room, closing the door behind her.

The hallway was quiet.

Tsunade looked left and right and discovered there was another empty room next door.

She poked her head in and, using the moonlight, confirmed that there was indeed no one on the bed, and the bedding was neat.

A faint floral scent lingered in the air, seemingly emanating from a few bunches of flowers at the head of the bed.

Tsunade breathed a sigh of relief, too lazy to fuss anymore. She walked straight to the bedside, threw herself into the soft bedding, and took a deep breath of the soothing floral scent. The drunkenness and fatigue washed over her again, and she soon fell into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, at the Inuzuka Clan.

"I’ll set off for Hidden Mist tomorrow to take a look. I estimate I’ll reach the front lines by the afternoon."

Naruto stood up, preparing to take his leave.

"Although Kiba is still a Genin, given the strength of their squad, they shouldn’t be at a disadvantage when encountering ordinary Chunin, so you don’t need to worry too much, Hana-nee."

Inuzuka Hana also stood up, shaking her head, her face showing trust in her younger brother and a hint of a sister’s pride:

"Don’t underestimate the boys of the Inuzuka Clan. I believe Kiba will definitely be safe and sound."

She paused, looking at Naruto with a soft gaze, her tone carrying a bit more concern.

"It’s you, Naruto, who shouldn’t push yourself too hard. You are Kiba’s friend, but you are even more so the Hokage of Hidden Leaf Village.

To me, Kiba is my brother, and so are you.

Don’t always push yourself so hard; you need to relax your nerves properly. If a string is pulled too tight, it will break."

Upon hearing this, Naruto froze for a moment, seemingly not expecting Inuzuka Hana to say such things.

Immediately, a brilliant smile bloomed on his face, and he gave a thumbs-up, his tone relaxed: "No problem, Hana-nee, I never force myself!"

"That’s what you say."

Inuzuka Hana ruthlessly debunked him, her eyes filled with heartache.

"But you are the one who likes to force yourself the most. Whether it was back in the Ninja Academy when you were desperately practicing Taijutsu, or later when you were learning the basics of Medical Ninjutsu from me, you were always pushing yourself.

It’s as if... there is something invisible chasing after you, and you don’t dare to stop for even a moment."

Having been called out directly by Inuzuka Hana, Naruto just scratched his head awkwardly.

He didn’t offer an excuse, only leaving behind: "Hana-nee, I’ll be going now, goodbye."

Before the words had faded, his figure had already transformed into a golden flash, using the Flying Thunder God Technique to vanish instantly from the spot.

In the empty living room, only Inuzuka Hana remained. She gazed at the spot where Naruto had just been standing, unable to snap out of it for a long time, eventually letting out a soft sigh: "Even though you have already become the Hokage and stand at the pinnacle of the Ninja World,

is there still something you deeply fear?"

She keenly sensed that beneath Naruto’s seemingly forever sunny and energetic exterior, there seemed to be hidden an indescribable sense of urgency and crisis.

The way he trained hard and desperately improved himself didn’t look like a simple pursuit of strength, but more like fleeing from or resisting some invisible, enormous threat, as if the moment he paused for a second, he would be torn to pieces and devoured by that invisible monster.

She had seen this feeling in the eyes of some mission survivors, but Naruto was still so young; what could he possibly be afraid of?

Naruto, who had used the Flying Thunder God Technique to return directly to his room, hadn’t even had time to calm the slight ripples in his heart caused by Inuzuka Hana’s words before he instantly sensed something was wrong.

Someone was lying on the bed?

Hikari? Or Karin? Or Hanabi? Otohime?

Could it be Hinata?

His first reaction was that the black-haired girl might have sneaked over, and finally, he went through all the girls in this courtyard in his mind.

But no, the silhouette of this figure, while the waist was equally slender, seemed to have more voluptuous lines in other areas?

Especially the curves that were shockingly prominent even while lying on her side...

By the cold moonlight filtering through the window, Naruto slowly saw the face of the person on the bed clearly.

Long golden hair, heroic brows and eyes, and even in sleep, there was a sense of laziness and dominance.

It was Tsunade!

Naruto’s face instantly darkened.

This old auntie... she was a full forty years older than him!

How did she end up in his room sleeping?

Could it be that she hadn’t even scraped together enough travel money for the capital, so she wanted to ambush him this way to take the opportunity to borrow another sum?

This thought flashed through Naruto’s mind instantly, and he immediately snorted coldly.

"I won’t fall for it!"

He barely hesitated, Chakra surging in his right hand.

A "ruler" instantly condensed from tough wood, about two feet long, with smooth edges but looking like it would hurt quite a bit to hit someone with, appeared out of thin air in Naruto’s hand.

This thing was solid; one hit would be enough to straighten anyone out.

He didn’t stand on ceremony, aiming at Tsunade’s back on the bed, and struck down with moderate force!

"Smack!"

The crisp sound was exceptionally clear in the quiet room.

"Aow! What are you doing?!"

Tsunade, feeling the pain, instantly jolted awake from her sleep, springing up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Her golden eyes widened, glaring at Naruto standing by the bed. Her sleepiness and drunkenness vanished completely, leaving only the anger of being ambushed.

"I should be asking you what you’re doing!"

Naruto crossed his arms and glared back unhappily, still holding that Wood Release ruler in his other hand.

"This is my room, who told you to sleep here?"

"Eh?"

Tsunade’s arrogance instantly extinguished. She looked around, only then realizing belatedly that the room’s layout was indeed different—it wasn’t the one she had slept in before, nor was it Hikari’s room she had intruded upon earlier.

"Th... this is your room?"

She muttered with a guilty conscience.

"I clearly saw no one in this room just now and thought it was a vacant guest room..."

"I thought you were so broke that you didn’t even have travel money to the capital, and were planning to ambush me in the middle of the night to ask for a’sponsorship’!"

Naruto put the ruler on the table to the side, his tone sarcastic.

"Sneaking into the Hokage’s room in the middle of the night like this, what are you trying to do?"

Tsunade’s face flushed red at his words, and she stiffened her neck to retort: "Who wants to ambush you? Am I that kind of person? I just went to the wrong room."

The more she said it, the more righteous she felt.

"It’s your fault that all the rooms in your house look the same, and you weren’t here before!"

Naruto couldn’t be bothered to keep bickering with her. He walked over to the chair by the desk and sat down, still crossing his arms, looking at Tsunade with an expression that said, "Let’s see how you make this up."

He had just been touched by Inuzuka Hana’s caring words and was feeling a bit soft and sentimental, but upon returning, he had been interrupted by this farce from Tsunade, so his mood instantly turned sour.
