National Guardian's Gone and We're Done

To ensure their own descendants could enjoy eternal glory and riches,

they began to unscrupulously exploit every member of the Human Race.

They employed all manner of schemes to bewitch the hearts of the people, to blur the lines between right and wrong,

and to spread all sorts of vile ideologies like a poisonous fog throughout the mortal realm.

Under the corrosion of this Dark Power,

the Human Race gradually lost its way. Many abandoned the path of cultivation,

becoming lost in the illusory temptations of the mortal world.

Their backbones were torn out, their spirit of resistance ground into dust.

They were like soulless, walking corpses, barely surviving in the darkness.

However, what those Deities failed to understand was that,

while some among the Human Race chose to bend the knee,

there were others who stood proud and unyielding, like defiant pines that would never bow.

Just like the Great Sage Equal to Heaven of old, who wreaked havoc in the Celestial Palace,

he challenged the authority of the Celestial Court single-handedly. He would charge forward, even against a million foes."

Xia Yunya’s voice trembled slightly, filled with a mix of excitement and reverence,

as if the heroic deeds of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven were still echoing before his very eyes.

sparing no effort to collect the Cultivation Methods left behind by the Deities of the Human Race.

could the Human Race reclaim its lost power and dignity and once again stand tall in this world."

Xia Yunya’s gaze was firm and fervent, as if burning with an unquenchable flame.

"So that’s why the Evil Spirits invaded. It’s those non-human Deities,

and they’re trying to use these bloody measures to stop the Human Race from rising again."

Chu He nodded slightly. The confusion in his eyes slowly faded, replaced by dawning comprehension and insight.

"Exactly.

If the Human Race tries to rise again,

the Evil Spirits will invade this world like a surging tide, embarking on a frenzied and brutal slaughter.

But if the Human Race chooses to abandon all resistance and continue its decline,

it would be like being trapped in Purgatory forever,

forced to endure the oppression and amusement of those high-and-mighty non-human Deities, with no hope of ever breaking free.

We are dedicated to cultivating a being of sufficient power as quickly as possible,

a new Deity who can once again stand up for our people and lead the Human Race toward the light."

Xia Yunya’s tone grew heavy as he spoke with earnest gravity,

his eyes filled with both anxiety and hope for the future of the Human Race.

"But those Deities are far too powerful. Everything we do,

must be done in secret, like travelers fumbling their way through the darkness,

treading carefully, as if on thin ice.

We simply don’t have the luxury of protecting the ordinary people who die in the Evil Spirit invasions.

Every life lost is like a dagger twisting in our hearts.

Some among us believe the eyes of the Deities are always watching from the heavens above,

coldly observing everything in the mortal world.

The invasion of the Evil Spirits is a punishment sent down by the Deities,

a terrifying disaster they hope will,

utterly destroy the Human Race’s will to resist,

and leave our people as docile as sheep, to be slaughtered at their whim.

But we will not give up.

We have been secretly collecting everything left behind by the Deities of the Human Race—

all the sources of power that can be used for our resistance.

We are trying, through constant cultivation and advancement,

to amass enough power to contend with those high-and-mighty Deities who control everything and plunder the Human Race of all its power.

Because we know,

that if we do not overthrow them,

the sun will forever be shrouded by darkness, and the Human Race will never know a day of peace."
