"If you have something to say, say it. Don’t drag this out."

Chu He’s expression was as calm as still water.

His deep eyes stared quietly at the sky, his gaze seemingly able to pierce the clouds and reach the very depths of the heavens.

"Just as I’d expect from Mr. Chu. Truly defiant, with an extraordinary presence."

Above the clouds, a giant human face slowly emerged.

It was reflected in the vast canopy of the sky, like a majestic deity looking down upon all of creation.

Its gaze locked onto Chu He, its voice deep and powerful, like thunder echoing across the horizon. "The upper echelons of our Lighthouse Empire have reached a decision.

We will not permit you to completely eradicate the Werewolf Clan. The Clan Leader of the Werewolf Clan must be allowed to live.

The previous conflicts between certain factions of the Lighthouse Empire and Mr. Chu were merely their own unauthorized actions.

Now, the global situation has become turbulent,

like a lone boat tossed about in a raging storm, on the verge of capsizing.

I am sure Mr. Chu has noticed this as well, or perhaps has already obtained some relevant intelligence.

After careful deliberation, the high command of our Lighthouse Empire has decided to form a World Alliance.

We are here specifically to invite Mr. Chu to join us and work together to maintain order and peace across Blue Star.

After all, as you know, the sun is dead. The shadow of the apocalypse is gradually blanketing the land, and dangers lurk at every turn."

Chu He raised an eyebrow, a flicker of suspicion and curiosity in his eyes. "Are you human?"

The giant face before him, formed only from the night clouds, emanated a mysterious and eerie aura.

’Chu He tried to perceive its true nature but found he couldn’t tell whether it was an Evil Spirit, a being that wielded some unknown Mysterious Power, or simply an ordinary human.’

"Not all Evil Spirits are villains. Some also wish to coexist peacefully with humans."

The giant face in the sky, seeming to sense Chu He’s skepticism,

replied unhurriedly.

A faint, cold smile touched the corners of Chu He’s mouth.

He slowly raised his hand, his slender fingers tracing a graceful arc through the night sky.

Then, he gently swung it down in Florian’s direction.

In an instant, an invisible blade seemed to materialize from the void,

carrying a sharp aura that could tear through anything as it shot out like a bolt of lightning.

The blade cut through the darkness, its speed so extreme it was nearly impossible to track.

The giant face in the sky, however, seemed not to have seen or heard a thing.

It made no move to intervene. The invisible Sword Qi struck Florian with perfect accuracy.

He didn’t even have time to scream before his body was neatly sliced in two down the middle.

The cut was as smooth as a mirror. Before any blood could even spurt out,

something even stranger happened.

After splitting Florian’s body, the Sword Qi

was like a seed containing endless energy that rapidly expanded.

A great torrent of golden flames, as dazzling as the sun, erupted forth.

The flames seemed alive, greedily devouring Florian’s severed remains.

In just a moment, they had burned his body to nothing,

not leaving even a speck of ash behind.

It was as if he had never existed in this world,

leaving only a patch of scorched black earth

emitting a pungent smell in the darkness—a testament to the shocking event that had just occurred.

"Hah... hah hah..."

The giant face in the sky, seeming to have seen through Chu He’s resolve,

let out a few cold, mocking laughs.

The laughter echoed through the night, like a demonic wail from the Nine Netherworld Hell that could chill one to the bone.

Then, as the black clouds roiled and churned like a surging dark ocean,

the face gradually faded into them and slowly disappeared.

Not until the black clouds had completely dispersed

did the bright moon and twinkling stars break through the darkness once more,

casting their soft, cool light upon the weathered land.

"You just killed him like that?"

Xia Chengli frowned, a hint of confusion in his eyes. "I thought what he said made some sense," he asked softly.

"If we did what they said, wouldn’t we be putting ourselves in an incredibly passive position?"

Chu He slowly shook his head, a grave expression on his face as he sank deep into memory.

"At the very beginning of the Evil Spirit invasion, when the disaster first broke out,

the powerful figures in many places were bewitched by the Evil Spirits and fell into their traps.

Back then, there were roughly two types of Evil Spirits. One type could communicate with humans.

They appeared gentle and friendly, but in reality, they harbored sinister intentions. All of them held extreme malice,

seeking to dismantle humanity’s defenses from within.

The other type followed their own bloody and cruel rules of slaughter,

like frenzied killing machines,

roaming the world, wantonly slaughtering and devouring human lives.

Regardless of which type, they all had only one ultimate goal:

to exterminate all of humanity and turn this world into a paradise for Evil Spirits.

However, what was truly heartbreaking was that those bewitched leaders, completely blinded by their own foolishness,

stupidly opened their city gates, delusionally hoping to coexist peacefully with the Evil Spirits.

They even fantasized about protecting the people of their cities with the Evil Spirits’ help."
