Chapter 479 - 379: I Can Feel It, That Guy Is the Weakest
"Chu He is here? How could I have not sensed a thing?"
Uzi’s eyes flew open, and he glared at the Doctor, his gaze filled with indignation and doubt.
He looked as if he wanted to eat the Doctor alive,
but the Doctor was like an unmoving iceberg,
standing perfectly still, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly
in a faint, profound smile.
His gaze drifted leisurely toward the darkness-shrouded world outside the Ancient Castle,
utterly ignoring Uzi’s provocation with no intention of arguing or defending himself.
"This is impossible!
The bulk of the Werewolf Clan’s elites are gathered here in this Ancient Castle,
yet I can’t sense the presence of a single Werewolf.
Don’t tell me Chu He managed to take down every single Werewolf like a ghost, without anyone noticing?
That’s absolutely ridiculous! A fool’s dream!"
Uzi grew more agitated, his voice booming through the Ancient Castle’s gloomy corridors,
his palpable anger like that of a restless, caged beast.
’If Chu He really did slaughter them all so silently—
every member of the Werewolf Clan besides myself,
especially the elites—then the consequences would be unthinkable.’
Hearing Uzi’s shouts,
Florian’s heart clenched. An ominous premonition descended upon him like a dark cloud.
He could already picture himself in the days to come,
guarding an empty castle all alone, reduced to a leader in name only.
The desolation and despair of it sent a chill down his spine.
’If that happens, even if I’m lucky enough to survive, how would I be any different from a walking corpse?’
he murmured, his brow deeply furrowed.
"Rest assured, your Werewolf Clan members haven’t met a cruel end.
They’ve simply fallen into an extremely odd state,
as if... as if they’re lost in a profound dream, fast asleep."
The Doctor had paused for two seconds,
as if carefully weighing the right words in his mind, before he slowly offered his explanation.
"I see."
Upon hearing this, Florian’s tightly furrowed brow slowly relaxed,
like a taut Bow string finally going slack, and he let out a long sigh of relief.
This was an outcome he could just about accept.
After all, being asleep meant there was still a sliver of hope they might awaken, which was infinitely better than being brutally murdered and utterly destroyed.
"As expected of Blue Star’s number one expert."
The Doctor suddenly exclaimed, his voice tinged with admiration and reverence.
"What happened?"
Florian rushed forward, his face etched with anxiety as he questioned him,
his eyes locked on the Doctor’s face, trying to glean some useful clue from his placid expression.
"The reason I was able to sense an intruder,"
"is because I’ve long since split off and released countless microscopic particles,
spreading them like an inescapable net over every corner of the castle, leaving no area uncovered, inside or out.
Not even the slightest disturbance around the castle can hope to escape my perception.
A moment ago, I detected the presence of a young girl.
However, the other person’s presence was as if veiled by a mysterious mist; I couldn’t sense them at all.
This is the first time in my entire life I have ever encountered such a peculiar situation."
The Doctor’s expression was grave, his eyes revealing a hint of confusion and alarm, as though he were pondering an extremely tricky puzzle.
Just then, as if to provide solid proof for the Doctor’s words,
at the heavy, ancient main gate of the Ancient Castle,
two figures slowly materialized, casting long, inky-black shadows in the cold moonlight.
On the left was a young man with a tall, imposing stature. His figure was slender, and he stood proudly in the night like an old pine tree.
On the right was a sweet and adorable young girl, as ethereal as a fairy descended to the mortal realm.
Her big, dark eyes were like two sparkling, translucent black gems,
darting about in their sockets as she curiously surveyed her surroundings,
showing immense interest in this mysterious, ancient place.
She looked like a nimble fawn that had wandered into a mystical wonderland, innocent and full of curiosity.
"Hmph. So much for that ’Perception Power’ you’re so proud of. It’s nothing but an empty boast.
This man before us isn’t Chu He at all."
Uzi’s lips curled into a mocking sneer,
his eyes sizing up the Doctor as if he were a self-aggrandizing clown.
Hearing Uzi’s confident declaration,
Florian’s nerves, which had been stretched taut as a bowstring, relaxed slightly.
In his mind, as long as it wasn’t Chu He in person,
the situation wasn’t dire. There was still room to maneuver.
After all, Uzi had once been on the Black Continent Grassland
where he’d had a thrilling, life-or-death confrontation with Chu He.
The brutality of that battle remained vivid in his memory; he had even come close to dying at Chu He’s hands.
For that very reason, Uzi’s hatred for Chu He was bone-deep, an all-consuming grudge.
Logically, how could he possibly fail to recognize his own mortal enemy, or make such a laughable mistake?
"No. That man is Chu He. There is no doubt."
the Doctor countered, his expression calm and his tone firm.
His gaze was deep and certain, as if it could pierce through all appearances to the core of the truth.
"Bullshit! How could I be mistaken?
He’s my mortal enemy! You think I wouldn’t recognize him?"
