Chapter 861: Hurry Things Along, Stop Thinking About Women All Day
A gentle breeze swept across the ocean as Lin Moyu rose from the sea.
The seawater around him was still boiling.
With a single blast of Dragon breath, Antares had sent him flying back to the Human World, dropping him straight into the ocean.
The Dragon breath had been so overwhelmingly powerful that it ignited the ocean itself.
With a helpless sigh, Lin Moyu hovered quietly in the air, waiting for the flames to die down.
...
After Lin Moyu left, Antares's expression gradually turned solemn.
The mist shrouding his enormous body slowly dispersed, revealing his enormous form.
Brilliant nine-colored radiance bloomed across his scales, enveloping him in dazzling light.
"Finally… it's complete."
"How many years... just how many years has it been?”
"I finally have all of my Dragon Beads back."
Antares muttered to himself, unable to hide the excitement in his voice.
"I'll soon return to my peak. When that day comes, you bastards had better watch yourselves. Every debt you owe me—I’ll collect it all, with interest.”
"And old man, don't think giving me two Dragon Beads settles everything."
"Not even close."
The radiance intensified as Antares's aura surged at an astonishing rate.
With every one of his Dragon Beads back, his strength would return to its former peak.
And that wasn't even the end of it.
He still possessed the two Dragon Beads bestowed upon him by the Dragon God.
Once he fully refined them and comprehended the inheritance and power they contained, there was a good chance he could condense two brand-new Dragon Beads of his own.
Antares had never been fond of using Dragon Beads belonging to others.
Power obtained without earning it always came with hidden drawbacks.
Only Dragon Beads cultivated through one's own strength were truly one's own.
Among the Dragon, Dragon Beads represented not only power but also identity and status.
Nine Dragon Beads marked the limit of a realm.
For every additional set of nine, one advanced an entire major realm, and both status and identity underwent a complete transformation.
Legend said a Dragon ancestor had possessed thirty-six Dragon Beads, standing unrivaled at the absolute pinnacle of the Dragon Race.
The current Dragon God possessed twenty-seven, placing him exactly one major realm below said Dragon ancestor.
Antares possessed sixteen Dragon Beads, one major realm beneath the Dragon God.
Even so, he stood among the absolute strongest individuals of the Dragon Race, second only to the Dragon God himself.
Now, he had the opportunity to cultivate two more Dragon Beads, bringing his total to eighteen—the absolute limit of his current realm.
Once he achieved that, unless the Dragon God personally intervened, there wouldn't be a single individual in the entire Dragon Race he had any reason to fear.
As for whether the Dragon God would actually suppress him...
Antares knew certain secrets and wasn't worried in the slightest.
Deep roars echoed continuously as he began recovering, steadily climbing back toward the peak he had once reached.
…
When Lin Moyu returned to his manor, surprise flickered across his face.
"Why is she here?"
With his perception, he immediately detected Lilian sitting in the main hall.
Shu Han was beside her, chatting casually.
Judging from their relaxed demeanor, the two had already become quite familiar with each other.
It looked like Lilian had been staying here for several days.
Shu Han sipped tea while Lilian leisurely drank the Dragon Blood Wine she had brought with her.
A faint scent of blood lingered in the air.
The instant Lin Moyu arrived, Lilian sensed him and smiled faintly, "You're finally back."
Lin Moyu stepped into the hall.
The moment Shu Han saw him, her eyes lit up with unconcealed joy. She immediately stood, walked over, and naturally slipped her hand into his.
"You're back."
Lin Moyu nodded, "I'm back. Sorry for making you worry."
He could still see the lingering concern in her eyes.
Shu Han smiled warmly, "As long as you're back safe."
Watching the two openly display their affection, Lilian clicked her tongue in annoyance.
The disdain on her face was unmistakable.
To someone as ambitious as her, romance was nothing more than a distraction that hindered one's pursuit of greater strength.
Holding Shu Han's hand, Lin Moyu turned to Lilian, "So, what brings you here?"
Lilian glanced at Shu Han, "Can we discuss this here?"
Lin Moyu smiled, "There's nothing she can't hear. Go ahead."
Lilian went straight to the point, "At this rate, the humans will have the Abyss completely under control within a year at the earliest, or two years at the latest."
"I've nearly fulfilled my side of our agreement."
"What about your promise?"
Lin Moyu replied calmly, "I'm close as well. I've already reached level 98. It won't be long before I break through to the Transcendent God realm."
Lilian carefully sized him up, sensing the tremendous aura emanating from him.
He really had reached level 98.
Once Lin Moyu became a Transcendent God, obtaining the title of world lord should be only a matter of time.
When that happened, her plans could finally be realized.
"You came all this way just to ask me that?" Lin Moyu asked curiously.
Lilian rolled her eyes, "Why shouldn't I?"
"My home is about to be completely conquered by the humans."
"Is it so strange that I'd come to hurry you along?"
"I'd hate for you to spend all day tangled up with women and end up delaying my plans."
Lilian had always spoken with the same commanding, overbearing confidence.
Yet even that casual eye roll carried an irresistible charm.
She was simply too beautiful—almost unreal.
Lin Moyu still couldn't understand how someone with half-human, half-Demon blood could be this stunning.
He chuckled, "You actually came at the perfect time. I happened to have something I wanted to discuss with you."
"What is it?"
"I need you to put on an act with me."
"Another act?"
"Yeah."
"Fine. Tell me the plan."
Lin Moyu explained his plan in detail.
After listening, Lilian glanced at him, "You're trying to gather the power of faith, aren't you?"
Lin Moyu was surprised. How did she know?
Lilian laughed softly, "Don't worry about how I know. I'll play along."
"Let's make it half a year from now. By then, the humans should have advanced even farther, and your power of faith will have weakened a bit more.”
"When the time comes, I'll make my move and stir up some trouble for the humans."
Lin Moyu nodded, "Alright. Just don't overdo it."
Lilian let out a charming laugh, "Relax. I know where to draw the line. And hurry things along on your end. Stop thinking about women all day."
With that, she turned and walked away without another glance.
Shu Han's cheeks flushed slightly, "And she calls herself the Demon Emperor… What nonsense."
Lin Moyu smiled, "That's just the way she is. In her eyes, survival comes above everything else. Becoming stronger is simply a means of staying alive. Nothing else really matters to her.”
Shu Han pulled him down to sit and poured him a cup of hot tea, "She also likes drinking Dragonkind blood."
Lin Moyu took a leisurely sip, looking quite carefree, "When did she arrive?"
Shu Han thought for a moment, "About three days ago. She didn't say a single word after arriving and spent all her time drinking Dragonkind blood. She wouldn't even join us when I invited her to eat."
"But I just saw you talking with her."
Shu Han nodded, "She stayed completely silent on the first day. On the second day, she only spoke a few words. I have a feeling something's been weighing heavily on her mind.”
"Perhaps."
Everyone carried burdens.
Lilian had hers, and he had his own.
Some things simply couldn't be spoken aloud. They had to be borne alone.
This journey into the deep layer had been immensely rewarding.
He had advanced two levels in succession, raising both his soul rank and level to level 98, finally bringing them into balance.
His soul grade, which had only recently reached 3rd grade, was now steadily progressing toward 4th grade.
More importantly, while pushing his soul force beyond its limits, he had unexpectedly awakened the law contained within his Deathwings law art: the law of space.
A law that stood alongside the law of time at the pinnacle of all laws.
Its power was beyond question.
Yet he remained far from truly comprehending it.
Even with the law of undeath, the law he was most familiar with, he could only wield its power. True mastery was still well beyond his reach.
The path ahead remained long.
