Chapter 841: Shocking Emperor Di
Although Lin Moyu did not know Emperor Di personally, the man was, at the very least, Lin Mohan's teacher.
That alone made him an elder to Lin Moyu and a respected senior of the human race.
For over a century, Emperor Di had stood guard over humanity. Though he had never achieved any earth-shattering accomplishments, his mere presence kept the Abyss Demons wary and prevented them from acting too recklessly.
Later, he ventured into the deep layer in search of his own path and future. No one could fault him for that.
He had already given so much to the human race; wanting to fight for his own destiny in his remaining years was something Lin Moyu fully understood.
The reason Emperor Di could leave with peace of mind was Lin Mohan's astonishing growth.
In less than ten years, she would reach his level and be capable of taking over his role as humanity's guardian.
Those ten years were invaluable to him.
Yet fate had other plans.
No one expected Lin Mohan to catch the attention of God Sovereign Sword Lily and be taken away directly.
Because he understood Emperor Di's choices, Lin Moyu held him in deep respect.
Now, with his soul force at level 95, far stronger than before, Lin Moyu pushed his Deathwings to their absolute limit.
As he streaked through space, a thin line of dark light trailed behind him.
The line was finer than a strand of hair—a spatial rift torn open by his incredible speed.
The deep layer was sturdy enough to withstand battles between Transcendent God experts, yet a spatial rift had appeared nonetheless. It was an astonishing sight.
Unfortunately, the rift was too small, and Lin Moyu was moving too fast to notice it.
Traveling at full speed, he quickly arrived at Emperor Di's location.
The moment he appeared in the sky, he sensed law fluctuations.
A battle was taking place a thousand meters ahead.
More accurately, it was a pursuit.
Emperor Di was fleeing, looking somewhat battered.
Five black-clad figures chased relentlessly after him.
The pursuers resembled humans, but a pair of wings extended from their backs.
Their bodies were extremely slender, making them appear like bamboo poles with wings attached.
The sight was strangely unsettling.
"They aren't monsters. And those clothes..."
Since they wore clothing, they were unlikely to be monsters. Moreover, their attire looked strikingly familiar.
"Bloodkind." With a single glance, Lin Moyu identified them.
A faint smile appeared on his lips, "Your luck just ran out."
His Deathwings fluttered as he shot forward.
Emperor Di was slower than the Bloodkind, but whenever they were about to catch him, he would instantly shift more than a thousand meters away, almost as if teleporting.
Lin Moyu noticed that each time Emperor Di used the technique, the Bagua Compass in his hand flashed with light.
He recognized it immediately.
Emperor Di had once lent the compass to Lin Mohan, who had described it as his most important piece of equipment.
Now, Lin Moyu could see she had not exaggerated.
Lin Moyu's own speed vastly exceeded theirs. With a single flap of his wings, he appeared near Emperor Di.
The moment Emperor Di saw him, his expression changed dramatically, "Leave! Quickly!"
Lin Moyu ignored the warning and remained where he was, as though he had heard nothing.
Seeing this, Emperor Di activated the Bagua Compass and instantly appeared in front of him, "What are you doing here?"
Naturally, he recognized Lin Moyu. At Lin Mohan's request, he had divined Lin Moyu's safety many times before.
Lin Moyu smiled, "I came looking for you. I just didn't expect to find five bedbugs here as well."
"Bedbugs?" Emperor Di immediately understood he was referring to the five Bloodkind.
The Zerg, the Dreabeasts, and even the Abyss Demons and the Dragonkind that came later were crude in their methods, but at least they faced their enemies head-on.
The Bloodkind were different. They thrived on infiltration, manipulation, and deceit.
Their schemes for invading worlds through pawns and hidden plots were especially despicable.
Antares often called them vermin and bedbugs, and Lin Moyu had adopted the same view.
In his eyes, the Bloodkind were nothing more than parasites.
The five Bloodkind grinned savagely when they saw Lin Moyu, exposing sharp fangs, their voices dripping with bloodlust.
"Another fool comes to throw his life away!"
"Human blood isn't bad at all."
"We'll drain him dry, turn him into a blood slave, and send him back to the human race."
"If we gather enough blood slaves, perhaps we can restart our plan."
Laughing viciously, the Bloodkind charged forward at blistering speed.
Emperor Di said urgently, "They're here! Go! I'll hold them off!"
Lin Moyu shook his head, "No need."
He casually pointed a finger toward the five Bloodkind.
Four-star law art: Bone Prison!
Layers of white bone materialized instantly around the five Bloodkind, trapping them in place.
The moment the law art formed, law art linkage activated.
Bone Fangs and Bone Spear erupted simultaneously.
A brilliant white flash lit up the sky.
Shrill screams echoed through the air as all five Bloodkind dropped from the air.
Their bodies were riddled with holes, their wings shredded beyond recognition.
Though not completely torn apart, they had lost the ability to fight back.
The power of Bone Fangs and Bone Spear had already reached level 98.
Coincidentally, these Bloodkind were also level 98.
One strike was enough to cripple them.
Lin Moyu pointed again.
Fused law art: Time Curse!
Bathed in crimson curse light, the Bloodkind screamed once more.
Before they even hit the ground, every trace of life had vanished.
With two casual gestures, Lin Moyu annihilated five level 98 Bloodkind—experts comparable to Jiang Yi.
Lin Moyu smiled faintly, "It's taken care of."
Emperor Di stood frozen, dumbfounded.
The five Bloodkind who had driven him into such a miserable state and hunted him relentlessly had been dispatched effortlessly by Lin Moyu.
No one understood their strength better than he did.
After all, they had fought multiple times before.
Although the level 98 Bloodkind were only slightly weaker than him, he could barely handle three of them at once.
Any more than that, and he would be overwhelmed.
In all their encounters, he had never truly gained the upper hand.
This time, he had been forced to flee.
Fortunately, with the Bagua Compass in hand, he had never doubted his ability to escape.
What he hadn't expected was to encounter Lin Moyu.
Seeing Emperor Di's stunned expression, Lin Moyu simply waited in silence.
After a long moment, Emperor Di finally came back to his senses.
"Thank you."
Lin Moyu smiled, "Senior, you're too polite. It was nothing."
Emperor Di's lips twitched.
Lin Moyu not only said it casually—he had done it casually.
Two finger points, and everything was over.
Emperor Di asked, "Moyu, what brings you here?"
Although this was their first meeting, they were hardly strangers.
Lin Moyu replied, "Antares sent me. He said you found the item he wanted."
Emperor Di was startled again.
Lin Moyu had addressed Antares directly by name.
That small detail alone revealed a great deal.
As a seasoned veteran, Emperor Di immediately inferred quite a lot.
Narrowing his eyes, he said, "I did find what the Lord wanted, but with my abilities, I couldn't bring it back."
"That's fine. Now that I'm here, I'll have to trouble you to lead the way."
Seeing Lin Moyu's calm confidence, Emperor Di could only sigh inwardly.
The younger generation truly surpassed the old.
"Follow me." Turning around, Emperor Di flew ahead, deliberately keeping a moderate pace.
Along the way, he repeatedly consulted his Bagua Compass to determine their bearings.
He explained, "I ran into those bastards earlier, so my bearings got thrown off. Give me a little time."
Lin Moyu smiled, "No rush. Senior, where exactly did you encounter these Bloodkind?"
Only then did Emperor Di learn what those creatures were called.
"You've seen them before?" He asked curiously.
"I have." A trace of killing intent entered Lin Moyu's voice.
