Chapter 478 - 474: The Fall of Evil Wind
Just as Evil Wind’s gaze wavered, Lin Hao spoke. "You don’t stand a chance."
Although Lin Hao could also sense Yao Yue’s aura and feel how extraordinary he was, he remained entirely unfazed.
Yao Yue smiled, pointed at Lin Hao from a distance, and uttered two words: "Seize him."
Though his voice was soft, it carried an air of absolute authority, as if he looked down on the entire world.
Before his voice had even faded, three young men moved in unison.
None who followed Yao Yue were weak. Every one of them was stronger than the people Lin Hao had encountered in the canyon.
The three struck as one, attacking Lin Hao’s upper, middle, and lower body in a flawless, coordinated assault.
With the three acting as one, their power multiplied.
Lin Hao stomped his foot and shot into the air.
’Although I could overwhelm them with brute force, there are still others watching like tigers. I can’t afford to waste my strength right now.’
A hundred meters behind Lin Hao stood a mountain peak. Seeing Lin Hao vanish, the three immediately retracted their attacks. Even so, the peak rumbled loudly, and a huge chunk was torn out of the mountainside as if crushed by a giant claw.
Yao Yue wanted the imperial art Lin Hao possessed, so the three naturally didn’t use lethal force. They had employed capturing techniques instead.
Moreover, the trio reacted with incredible speed. The moment Lin Hao shot upward, all three launched into the air after him.
However, if they went up fast, they came down even faster.
BOOM!
As Lin Hao descended, he stomped on two of the three, one under each foot, driving them straight into the earth.
Only after Lin Hao’s feet touched the ground did the last man’s body, split in two, fall to the earth.
On the ground, Lin Hao stood atop two heads. He had used his power with exquisite control; the two men’s bodies were completely buried, leaving only their heads exposed. The two halves of the last man’s corpse landed perfectly in front of them.
Lin Hao stood there, his domineering gaze sweeping over the remaining men, even more intense than Yao Yue’s had been moments before.
It all happened so fast that none of them could even comprehend how Lin Hao had done it.
Even Evil Wind’s expression changed. He realized that although it had only been a few days since he last saw Lin Hao, his cultivation was now clearly far more profound.
Such progress was nothing short of terrifying.
However, when Yao Yue witnessed Lin Hao’s combat prowess, there was no surprise in his eyes, much less fear. Instead, his gaze only grew brighter.
"Evil Wind, take Lin Hao down." After a moment, Yao Yue spoke, ordering Evil Wind to fight.
A glint flashed in Evil Wind’s eyes, but he looked at the men flanking Yao Yue. "I have yet to witness the divine techniques of the Moon Worshiping Saint Institute. I’d rather ask these two gentlemen to make a move."
Standing beside Yao Yue, one on his left and one on his right, were two expressionless, indifferent men.
He had been with Yao Yue for three days. These two had appeared on the second day, and Evil Wind had never seen them in action since.
Furthermore, their auras were bizarre, and Evil Wind found them completely unfathomable.
"They are my personal guards," Yao Yue said, his expression cold. "They will not act unless you are dead."
Evil Wind’s heart trembled, and a flash of anger crossed his eyes.
He snorted coldly. "Yao Yue, don’t think I’m afraid of you just because you’re Young Master Moon’s brother. If I die here, not only will the Evil Emotion Tower come after you, but the Yujin Saint Institute won’t let you off either."
Yao Yue simply smiled, but he turned to Lin Hao. "Lin Hao, do you know why Evil Wind wants you dead? Someone from your own Saint Institute instructed him to do it. Alas, how tragic that even your own Saint Institute can’t tolerate you."
The moment Evil Wind had spoken those words, a certain person had already come to Lin Hao’s mind. Therefore, he had no reaction to Yao Yue’s revelation.
"Lin Hao, you have absolutely no chance against me. How about this? I’ll give you an opportunity right now. Submit to me," Yao Yue said with complete confidence, his tone mocking.
CRUNCH!
Lin Hao still didn’t speak. He simply stomped the two heads beneath his feet further into the ground.
Then, Lin Hao began to walk straight toward Evil Wind.
Evil Wind’s heart seized, and he actually took a step back.
"Lin Hao, don’t believe his attempts to sow discord! Let’s join forces and capture Yao Yue. He’s Young Master Moon’s own brother, and the son of the King of Moon! He’s definitely..." Evil Wind’s eyes darted about as he spouted his proposal.
Yao Yue’s intention was obvious: he was going to be sacrificed. Under these circumstances, Evil Wind had no choice but to switch sides.
Although he was a disciple of the Five Great Divine Sects, having witnessed Lin Hao’s methods, he knew he was no match in a one-on-one fight. And while he possessed a secret treasure given to him by that person, Evil Wind was reluctant to use it.
Unfortunately, before he could finish, Lin Hao cut him off. "How do you want to die?"
Lin Hao’s voice was as cold as a blade.
"Lin Hao, don’t think I’m afraid of you! I know I’m not your match, but if we fight, you’ll be the one to die in the end." As a proud disciple of the Five Great Divine Sects, being looked down upon by Lin Hao like this finally ignited his anger.
Before his voice had even faded, Evil Wind struck.
A disciple of the Five Great Divine Sects naturally had his own unique skills. Evil Wind’s voice was like a gale, but his fist was faster than sound. Before the word "you" had even finished leaving his lips, his punch was already in front of Lin Hao.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Lin Hao threw a punch of his own.
The air between the two of them crackled and boomed from the force of their fists. A long gash tore through the ground between them as if cleaved by a sharp blade.
After the exchange, a flicker of confusion appeared in Lin Hao’s eyes.
Not only had he not retreated, but Evil Wind hadn’t budged an inch either.
But Evil Wind clearly had a comparable level of cultivation, and his True Qi was nowhere near as abundant as his own.
This was bizarre.
After a moment of shock, Evil Wind’s face lit up with glee. He roared, "Lin Hao, you brought this on yourself!"
Before his voice had even faded, Evil Wind moved again.
The two collided once more.
This time, not only did the air between them explode, but the very ground behind them shook and the mountains trembled.
Over by Yao Yue, his two guards simultaneously stepped forward to shield him.
"HAHAHA! Lin Hao, so this is all you’ve got!" Evil Wind laughed maniacally.
Lin Hao’s eyes flashed. He stared at Evil Wind’s hands, then a smile of sudden realization spread across his face.
In the next instant, Lin Hao’s figure moved like lightning, circling Evil Wind like a tornado.
When Lin Hao came to a stop again, Evil Wind was horrified, his face drained of color. He felt an intense, tearing pain from within his body, as if he were about to explode.
"How can this be? Lin Hao, what did you do?!"
"If you had fought me with your own power, you might have had a sliver of a chance. But unfortunately for you, you relied too much on that thing."
"It’s an ultimate treasure! How could it possibly fail?!"
"If it were real, of course it wouldn’t fail. But it’s just a replica. To be precise, it can’t even be considered a proper replica."
"How could this be? He wouldn’t lie to..." Evil Wind roared, but his body exploded before he could finish.
"A Martial Artist at the Fifth Layer of the Soul Gathering Realm died at your hands just like that. You truly are extraordinary." Witnessing this, Yao Yue stepped out from between his two guards, his expression still unchanged.
Lin Hao stared at the two men flanking Yao Yue for a moment, then suddenly smiled.
