Episode 17: Scholar Lorraine Vivier (Previous)

Lorraine Vivier felt the boredom of the world from the bottom of her heart when she earned her Grand Doctor's degree in Imperial Capital at XIV.

He was called a prodigy from a small place, and even as he grew up, his assessment remained the same, and Lorraine was admitted to the Supreme College in a country where he was ten years old, and when he was twelve, he earned his doctorate, and even his doctorate of the Great Doctor at fourteen.

There wasn't much in the world that I didn't understand for her, and a boring world where I would understand more deeply than an expert if I could learn a little, even if I didn't know it, was this world.

Maybe that's why.

One day, Lorraine threw it all out and came without saying anything to anyone, even to the marginal city of Multo, in the kingdom of Yarlan, the peripheral state, even more so on the periphery.

Of course, that's a good reason to be pre-built.

I wanted a plant that I could only harvest around the city malt, and I came to get it myself, for a reason.

Naturally, I wish I could ask someone to do that and ask an adventurer, but Lorraine was really bored.

I wanted some inspiration.

So I went to pick it up myself.

Yes, outrage.

Ten years after that, I can see how I was moving with a childish feeling at the time.

I may have been able to study, but in the end, Lorraine was a child at the time and knew nothing.

There was someone who told me about it.

That is the boy, Lent Fina, who was an adventurer in the city Malt at the time.

Lorraine decided to explore with him the depths of the forest around the city of Multo.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

At that time Lorraine was a scholar at one end who had already had the Great Doctor's degree in fourteen, but in order to take that title, she had to be quite familiar with witchcraft.

And in order to do so, you need to be able to handle a certain amount of witchcraft, and to that extent, according to the rank rating in the Adventurers' Union (Guild), it is enough to be recognized as a silver equivalent sorcerer.

However, that does not mean that magicians who can use silver equivalent magic actually have the strength of silver as adventurers.

Normally, though, Lorraine had never been in action as a time-consuming magician, as she was just walking down an academic path.

Normally, such a skill as a magician is not so well acquired, but Lorraine was unfortunately blessed with her talent as a magician.

Even without actual experience, he had a lot of sense to use witchcraft, and only then had he acquired a silver equivalent of witchcraft.

At the time, Lorraine had come to register with the Adventurers' Union (Guild) because she wanted to collect materials in areas where she could not enter without the permission of the Adventurers' Union (Guild), but she did so only because the Adventurers' Union (Guild) could not have grasped the details of her situation and usually had the title of a Grand Doctor when she came to register with the Adventurers' Union (Guild).

And Lorraine had a silver glowing Adventurer ID and tried to make her way to her destination in a good mood.

In order to earn a dime, he also received a request to collect medicinal herbs that he was finally growing around his destination.

But Lorraine, who tried to leave the Adventurers' Union (guild), heard voices from behind.

Think of something and look back, there's a swordsman with a giant,

"Lady, you just got a request to go to the Azure Forest, didn't you? Then take him with you while you pack."

That's what I said, I pushed the back of one boy.

It's an unprecedented event, but now I feel like Lorraine's turning point was here.

In other words, the boy was Lent Fina.

Of course, what's Lorraine talking abruptly about, this old man, I thought.

Suddenly it was as if I didn't know why they would say that.

Understand such Lorraine's heart, the middle-aged man said.

"This guy is still running out, and I want to get him a lot of experience, and he's always splitting into the Azure Forest with me to collect material, but I have a little more plans today. I was looking for someone to take me instead. So, lady, I thought you'd be just fine, okay?

It is a rather unscrupulous story.

Suddenly I can't even take him, and probably from what I talk about, the boy's rank is below the bronze grade.

In other words, from Lorraine, who was judged to have the equivalent of a silver grade, it's a foot job.

So I thought I'd say no, but the middle-aged man,

"What, I'm not saying I fold the commission. All you have to do is bring this guy. I just got it. You asked me to collect it, didn't you? Let this guy collect it, and he'll get paid more. You can take all of yours. Besides that, they also do just luggage carrying. So, yeah. Please."

And he pushed pretty hard and didn't seem like he was willing to pull.

Lorraine eventually had no choice but to say, yeah, and do the request with Lent, but after this, I never really thought it would be good to have him.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

The forests of Azure are vast and are like natural fortresses where many flora and fauna exist.

Lorraine knew that well from the knowledge she had gained from the book, but she was surprised how different it had been from actually looking at it and reading it.

That means, first of all, Lorraine couldn't walk through the woods.

It's not like I don't have the strength.

Instead, he is one of the fourteen, and there is the magic of the physical strengthening system.

But the way I walk in the woods, it's a trick, and I just know for the first time that walking deprives me of more and more strength, and at the end of the day I'm exhausted.

Yet Lent, who is supposed to be a far lower adventurer than he is, doesn't look as if he's tired or anything, and he's sourced drinking water from nowhere to sit out and hand it to Lorraine.

Also, if you try your eyes somehow on a bag that is lowered to his hips, numerous herbs are picked and in when they were collected.

Besides, if you show me one at a time, there's only one thing that is perfectly treated picked, dug out, even from Lorraine, the scholar.

When Lorraine asked people to procure herbs, she remembered that so far few had been treated perfectly.

The same is true when we meet demons.

Lorraine had never fought a demon properly until that time when she explored this forest.

Of course, as a Grand Doctor, witchcraft could use a large number of things with enough real-life level power, but someone was always following Lorraine when she moved somewhere, and someone else was defeating the demon without Lorraine having to use witchcraft.

So the first time he was decently relative to the demon, Lorraine couldn't hold her breath and do anything.

- Is it something so horrible?

In short, that's just what I thought.

Nothing else - let's fight, if we didn't use magic, that didn't even climb to the edge of our heads.

And I couldn't even move.

To Lorraine like that,

"... Lorraine! Firebomb!

If Lent hadn't spoken to me that way, Lorraine would have ended up there forever without being able to move.

It's just that I was given instructions, so I could move right, and Lorraine was nothing but a big boy then.

Lent, knowing to the confused Lorraine that she had little combat experience as she saw the demon burned black by powerful sorcery, told her finely what it was like to fight the demon and how the demon moves when it actually becomes a battle.

Lorraine is smart.

Smart enough that there is no one in line.

So I absorbed what Lent taught me at a tremendous rate, as dry dirt, but I deeply thought that and this was because I was able to survive thanks to Lent in the first battle.

Materials to be collected at the request received - as well as about medicinal herbs.

According to what I read in the book, I wasn't worried by saying that the place where it was growing was fairly limited and easy to find.

But if you actually look for it, it's like you can't find it.

I thought I'd finally found it, and I can only find one bottle over half an hour.

As much as I thought the author of that book, the next time I saw him, I'd punch him.

Yet.

Yet it is.

With a smile, the number of herbs in Lent's lower back walking in the woods, behind Lorraine, is increasing as he looks back.

Plus there's a lot of medicinal herbs that Lorraine was looking for.

I mean, nothing more than that Lorraine did grow where she went, but she overlooked everything.

When Lorraine realized it, she found out how narrow the world she was looking at was.

And I asked Lent, in addition to all the fighting, if he could teach me the basics of being an adventurer, how to collect plants, where the herbs grew.

Lent answered it quickly, and Lorraine managed to complete her request for the day by sundown.
