Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha

Episode 33: Corpse Ghost Performance

The next day.

After making sure my health was generally back to normal, I did some experiments on the Lorraine proposal.

I started with the look shooting. That even did some pretty fine things, but it also included a bunch of things that I wasn't sure what the hell I was doing for.

It was the sexuality of scholars, and I might not have settled down until I looked into everything.

That said, not that there was anything useful at all in those experiments.

Instead, I'm glad I did because some of the blurry and questionable things I've been doing have been resolved.

So the big thing is, first of all, saying I can eat, that restorative drugs such as restorative water pills (potions) somehow work on the body of this immortal (undead), and that poisons don't work.

It is also significant that I have found that about meals, other than people's blood, can also be spoken for.

Honestly, even now that I've become a corpse ghost, I feel the urge to mouth people's flesh somehow.

Was it still a corpse-eating ghost (ghoul) urge for meat, not so much, but I feel quite a strong thirst for blood.

Specifically, you can immediately see the smell of blood shed by nearby humans.

Needless to say, we also know the age, gender, and health of those who shed their blood.

I can't help but think that this would be quite enough.

Besides, it smells delicious.

I find myself most appetized by the smell of my young and healthy daughter's blood in particular......

You kind of sucked at it, I can't help but think.

Whatever it is, it is a problem for me to feel this thirst all the time.

After various attempts to see if it could be resolved somehow, the urge became weaker after eating some of the regular meals.

Other than that, I drank Lorraine's blood in small portions and I pulled it off.

On a regular diet, about three servings of an average adult male, a drop of Lorraine's blood would have healed his thirst, so cost-effectively, Lorraine's blood seems better, but it's hard to even tell him to give me blood on a regular basis, Lorraine thinks.

"... it sounds like you should drink my blood regularly if this results. In the meantime, keep a bottle in a magical container of preservation, so tell me when it's gone."

I said, he gave it to me softly.

Because it is a bottle, I feel like it is a good amount, but it is a drop of blood that should be drunk at a time.

I mean, with all this, I'd have about a month.

But it's not a problem.

Anyway, once a month, at this amount... there seems to be a problem with Lorraine's health on the boulder.

I decided to drink it with care while also pinching a normal meal.

... But I usually get a headache in my own thoughts that my humanity is too thin around me deciding to drink blood dearly, or something.

In order not to lose any more of that humanity, don't just eat blood, you will also have to eat a normal meal.

I also tried it in order from the weak and immediate ones about the poison, but even the rather powerful ones didn't make it as if I was unwell.

In times of need, Lorraine could use it if it was about the purifying magic of poison, and as a last resort, I thought I could manage the poison if activated because I was holy, but so much so that I didn't have to use either.

You can assume it's completely ineffective about poison.

"... Again, does that mean it doesn't work because you're dead?

Lorraine was whining about that, but I don't know that either.

But if that's the reason, restorative water pills (potions) shouldn't work either.

Either that or maybe it's a special physique of poison nullity.

Upon completion of the preliminary examination, Lorraine stated that

"I shall now consider the results of the experiment as varied. You... well, needless to say"

I don't know what I'm going to do if I say something, but I do have to say it.

All I have to do is at least look human for now.

I'd like to be human if I could... but if the essence of existential evolution is "getting closer to what I want," can I be human one day?

I don't know.

I'll ask Lorraine what that came up with, too, naturally.

"As you can see, there is... but I can't even say it's not possible at all. Wouldn't that be a good goal?

And I got a reply.

Then we'll try our best in that direction......

Decide.

Tentative objectives.

And to do that, I have to dive into the labyrinth...

"... this, Ken, when you can still grab it, are you done yet?

When I pull my sword out of my sheath and show it to Lorraine, she...

"... you have a terrible blade spill. I can't keep it that way. You'll need to put it out for repair."

"Right..."

In the meantime, I just had it handed to me, but I am already in this condition.

It would definitely piss me off.

With that in mind, it's dangerous to fight like this.

I was ready to go to the blacksmith.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

"... hey, what's this?"

That's what the blacksmith Clope told me, as he squeezed that bitter running face even harder.

"... Yours, Ken"

That's what I said in the end.

The clope then

"I can see that... I don't know what I want to hear..."

I've asked that with a sigh, so I've decided to stop deluding myself any more, and I'll be honest with you.

"I'm sorry. Because of this..."

"Oh? Well again... then it's not strange that this happened, but you, you did dive into The Labyrinth of the Water Moon, didn't you? Was there a guy over there who seemed to have to take care of Holiness?

This question would have been based on the assumption that I could use some magic and chi.

I mean, there would have been only demons out there who could cope adequately with those two forces without the sacrament, I'm saying.

And that's basically right.

But...

"... then there was Suzu. So there's no other way..."

Clope opened his eyes to my words,

"There's no way there's a bone giant out there... No, you're not a liar... where the hell..."

"Mitsuru found Kuki..."

"Ha!? You... hey, that's..."

Surprised, but around the immediate lowering of his voice, Clope seems well aware of the importance of that information.

Go on,

"... is that true?

That's what I've been asking, so I nodded silently.

The clope then

"... No, I wonder what happened because I come dressed weird, and that's what happened. I don't know about that, but hey... okay. I get the point. Have you already explored it?

I say things like I get it, but I don't particularly touch it, I only answer the last thing they ask me.

"Not yet. So, as soon as possible, I want..."

"I guess... but I haven't made your order sword on the boulder yet. Bring another substitute for today. I'll give you some more."

I was wondering if maybe the sword I asked for was already made, but it still doesn't seem possible.

I nodded, received a new sword that endured the magic and care that Crope's wife, Luca, had sorted for me, and left the store.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

- Gun!

And, as I leave the store, I hit something.

Apparently, I hit him in the face.

The mask was intact because it just bumped into him, but I checked in front of him and there was one man there.

He is a knight-style man with silver armor.

This type is rarely expensive, and you seem to want to leave early, and when you try to keep your head down gently and then walk out in silence,

"I'm sorry. Are you hurt?

And he talked to me, so I had no choice but to answer.

"... oh. And you?"

"I'm fine too... By the way, I see you as an adventurer...?

That's what I've changed my mind about, so I had to respond, nodding and answering.

Then the chivalry-style man looked serious and asked me:

"If so, I have a few questions. You're an adventurer in this city, Lina, don't you know a girl named
