Episode 85: Strange Requests and Clients

The next day.

When you enter the Adventurers Union (Guild), Shayla comes up in a hurry,

"Get lost, Mr. Lent! Hey!"

And I've been talking to you.

I was just here to ask you what happened to the material in Tarask the other day, but I can't seem to figure that out.

"... what's going on?

That's what I ask.

"In the meantime, here..."

So I was told, I was put through to the back room.

It is one of several reception rooms set up in the Adventurers' Union (Guild), rather than being an adventurer.

If the request is complex and requires detailed consultation, or if the size of the request itself is large, the client will be guided to this room to discuss it.

Well, that basically means a room used if the client has more than some economic power or power.

That's not necessarily all, as you can see from the fact that I'm being put through right now, but it's a great room to tell a secret story.

Why did you let me go through like that...?

Shayla opens her mouth.

With a single requisition in your hand.

"... Mr. Lent. Um, was Mr. Lent acquainted with the Latour family?

In a nasty tone, I tilt my neck at that question that was asked.

Because that family name doesn't make me sound familiar.

So be honest.

"... no? Why would you do that? Is that what you want?

Then Shayla tilted her neck, while giving her the requisition,

"Yeah... actually, Mr. Lent had a nomination request in there..."

I gave it to him, saying.

I'll take it and load it.

There was an incredibly high reward for collecting Dragon Blood Flowers on a regular basis once a week in The Marsh of Talasks and for making a living hunting slime and goblins until the other day.

And the name of that client is….

"Oh, if anything, come from"

It contained the name of Isaac Hart, the man who came out of that "Marsh of Talasks".

To this reaction of mine, Shayla...

"... I knew you knew him..."

And he looks at me with a surprised, flashy look.

I wonder why you're so surprised, but I guess that has to do with the family name she mentioned earlier.

And Isaac was talking about having the Lord.

From there, I can somehow imagine the story.

"No, but no, no, no, no, no?

That would be the case.

My reasoning is apparently correct, and Shayla nods.

"Yep... the Latour family is an old lineage in this city of Malt, and they've been involved in its operation for a long time. Looks like you've been with the Adventurers' Union (Alliance) for a long time... and you're talking about someone that Malt's Adventurers' Union (Alliance) rarely needs to be concerned about."

It seems to me that there are various things pinched in the back teeth in the way it is said, indicating something like power in the Latour family's urban malt.

But Isaac didn't get that bad of an impression.

I ask.

"Something like sprinkling with a candlestick and cuddling like you were there. No, is that it?

"No, that's not true. Instead, you've been saying it's pretty calm lately, or hardly any interference. However, the speech in malt has not diminished, so it still feels like I care..."

After all, there were many ambiguities in that explanation.

In the first place......

"Are you kidding me?"

Naturally, there are nobles in this kingdom of Yarlan as well.

The order of the titles is determined from above by the order of Uncle Duke Marquis.

Well, since it is a rural state in the first place, there are many pleasant people who are either free or less aristocratic when compared to a very large country where the Duke is farming or the Count is commercially available, but let's just put that aside.

Shayla asked me a question.

"You don't seem to be. It's just an old house, that's all. It has long been in this city and has made a great contribution to its operation. That's what I hear. That's why we shouldn't treat you like that. I hear Viscount Rottnell, the lord who governs this part of the city of Multo, is also deeply connected to the Latour family… To be honest, this is a house that I am not sure I am familiar with as well as being an Adventurers Union (Alliance) official. What a secrecy. But the Adventurer Union Leader (Alliance Master) insisted that there should never be a crude relationship... and Lent told me to be careful not to do anything wrong with this request."

"... what the hell"

"So I don't know the details. But I'm not the one who can already be crude just because I have a deep intimacy with the Lords clan, an old lineage that has long been involved in the operation of malts. I mean, Mr. Lent, you can't refuse this nomination request if you're going to live in a malt."

Shayla affirmed so.

... It's a terrible story.

They just met in "The Marsh of Talasks," but they got a hell of a deal or something.

Well, I'm not willing to say no in the first place.

The reward is good, and the client is not that Latour family, but Isaac Hult.

He looked at the content of the request and talked about taking it when he was convinced.

As an Adventurers Union (Guild), I would never want you to say no, but if you wanted to say no, they would actually meet you and probably convince you if you said you couldn't.

It is very much the same as the usual request order, and as far as I'm concerned, I don't feel a problem.

I'm just wondering what the hell kind of house Isaac serves, the details of which... even the Adventurers' Union (Alliance) staff won't tell me the bottom line.

If you want to know, you'll have to ask the person.

It's not like I can't even think of a way to ask the adventurers and acquaintances around me, but I've been an adventurer for ten years in this malt.

I'm pretty sure he didn't have a big arm, but he was going to know a lot about Malt, at least.

And yet I don't know anything about the Latour family.

I know many old houses involved in urban operations, but there's no Latour's name in them.

What the hell...

Well, Isaac will know about that area.

I don't know if you can tell me.

I think about it. I tell Shayla.

"I'm not going to cling to you. I had a hard time doing it in" Negative. "And I found that it was not so great for me to go over there and get Riketsuka. So let's go."

"Is that true? But... are you okay? Well, Mr. Lent..."

I didn't say it ahead, but I can understand what she's trying to say.

Even though I'm a demon, it's probably okay to get involved with a house with deep connections to the upper levels of the city malt, such as the Latour family.

Often, instead of being banished from the malt, I could be targeted by people all over the malt.

Isn't that the crusade where you end up?

I guess that's what I thought.

But I shake my head.

"For this reason only, I don't know. I didn't follow you when there was."

It's harder to even think about making my outfit a problem again than it was pointed out then.

If there's a problem, they'll let me see the LaTour family owner or something, and then they'll say that masks and robes are rude... but they're burned with acid and ugly, so they'll do something about it.

If you can't, that's the only way you can turn down the request itself.

Nor would Isaac flip what he said himself.

I didn't look like the type of person who was going to do that.

Shayla told me that.

"... If anything happens, say it. I don't know what I can do, but if I can, I can help."

That's what he told me, so I nodded, slapped Shayla on the shoulder, and left the reception room.
