Lesson 110: Junior Vampires and Lectures

"Well, gentlemen. You know what it takes to use magic?

In the living room of Lorraine's house, holding a stick in front of one large plate, Lorraine asked us, yes.

Us - I mean, me, Lent Fina, and Alize.

Alize decided the other day to officially train as a magician and as an adventurer, but the first day begins today.

Even if that's understandable, then some will ask why I even have you.

The reason for this is simple.

What Lorraine is talking about right now is a story about the basics of magic.

Alize has magic, and she gains training as a magician, so naturally, nothing is more than Alize's talent as a magician.

I have one, too.

Of course, I didn't have anything like that before.

I couldn't even activate low-level offensive magic, and it was so much Sekiyama that I let out a little water.

Before, I had talent as a magician, I couldn't tell you what a ripped mouth would be.

But not now.

My magic stretches beyond compare to what it was then.

Enough to exercise magic as a magician.

And even so, the only reason you can't use witchcraft is because there's no reason or practice for witchcraft, so if you learn it, you should be able to wear it.

That's what I asked Lorraine to tell me when I told Alize.

Then she said "double the tuition" and took it on with pleasure.

... he took it on quickly!

Well, I'm not talking about just doubling my tuition, it's fine because it's a legitimate demand for consideration because it means paying both Alize's share and my share, but I'm pretty much a housekeeper here, so I don't just wonder if there's a discount or anything for that.

Isn't that what you said when you lived there?

In the first place, if you want to wear proper witchcraft, you're almost limited to the choice of apprenticing yourself to a prestigious magician or going to a sorcery school.

Either way you have to pile up dozens of gold coins, and given that, Lorraine's rates are extremely low and conscientious.

It's more of a breakdown.

I guess that means I should just accept it as already discounted......

Anyway, that's why now me and Alize are just getting Lorraine's First Mage Lecture - How to Use Magic Even Goblin.

And to answer Lorraine's question like that, when I try to open my mouth,

"Yes!"

And I saw him raised his hand with a healthy voice from next door.

It is Alize's hand.

Lorraine pointed to it with an elongated stick in her hand,

"Yes, Alize-kun"

Nominated.

Alize rises out of her chair and shows off her answers to questions in a taunting manner.

"Yes, in order to use magic, you need Magic!

"Well done. You may sit down."

... Apparently I'm late.

It's not like I didn't know the answer.

I knew it, but the time to raise your hand just slipped.

Yes, it is.

Lorraine continues.

"Now, as Alize said, in order to use magic, it's common sense that we need magic first. Of course, just because you had a lot of magic doesn't necessarily mean you can be a powerful sorcerer, but if you want to be a strong sorcerer, it is desirable that you have as much magic as you can. The reason for this..."

"Yes, yes! Ha!"

Lorraine cut the words on the way and saw us, so I desperately raise my voice and raise my hand.

When I glanced sideways, Alize said, "... can't you grow up?" He blurts, "but that's not what I found out.

I hate losing.

Once you lose, you don't lose next.

Lorraine looked at my hands up, made more eye contact with Alize, then sighed,

"... Yes, Lent"

I said as if I was frightened.

I give a grand reply to that nomination I wanted.

"Because if you have a small amount of magic, you have a significantly limited variety of magic that you can use. Not often, for example, it's called life magic, you can only use terribly small magic, and you can't activate any of the offensive magic... like the old me"

"Yes, correct. Good for you, Lent."

Lorraine praises for throwing.

Then, to the last thing I added to Blur, Alize,

"What? Really? Lent hasn't done anything for a long time."

and look surprised.

... What the hell kind of superhuman image do you have of me?

By the way, I told Alize I didn't have to salute her, so this is the tone.

Lorraine tells me to stop too, so I talk normally except during this class.

But only while I'm studying, I'm set up with this strange rule of calling myself a teacher and speaking in a respectful language.

For some reason, I was forced to, too.

Lorraine says this seems normal that it's her hometown school building.

I wonder what it's like to be a Yarlan kingdom?

I don't know because I've never been to college... but nobody uses respectful language when it's an Adventurers' Union (Alliance) course, and it feels fresh.

"I didn't do anything, and I still can't make a big deal out of it."

When I say that to Alize in denial, Lorraine snorts at it, too.

"Lent can do what he can, but he can't do what he can't do thoroughly. Sounds like we're getting to do quite a lot of things right now... but still, you can understand there's somewhere missing, right? Well, when you're an adventurer, you don't show much of that."

That's how I refilled it.

Alize looks unexpected and nods, heh, but she seems to have wondered, asking Lorraine a question.

"With that said, Lent, you said that I used to only use life magic..."

Lorraine answers this question.

"That's true. Lent certainly, until recently, couldn't use much sorcery. Magic is basically something that doesn't increase or decrease after the growing season. However, there are exceptions, and suddenly there is more magic because of something."

Maybe it's something you should hide, but then you're gonna tell me why I'm taking this lecture.

Early on, it was Lorraine's decision that it was better to say there was a reason for that.

"What does that mean?

Lorraine replies when Alize keeps asking me that she didn't find anything particularly odd about the fact that I didn't have a lot of magic until recently.

"I can't say all in all, but I guess for example, if you mouthed a special spirit drug or crusaded a powerful demon. With the protection of the Divine Spirit, not least. If it's noisy, I'll ask the devil to redeem it for something."

Yes, magic is basically something that doesn't increase or decrease all the time once fixed, but it can also be increased by special methods.

But any known method is costly and depends on luck.

It's not something that you can get that way, such as the spirit pills of increased magic, it's something that if you go to auction, the price will be fished out indefinitely, and when it comes to demons that increase magic, it's only luck that all the monsters of the kind whose names appear in the legend, the protection of the divine spirits, etc., and it's not enough to have a few lives, such as a contract with the devil.

Even I wanted to increase my magic when I was alive, but none of it was that easy.

Doing so can only marginally increase.

Hard work is the most solid way to do it.

Though it's a joke to do it steadfastly and die of being eaten as a result.

"I didn't do anything in my case, but there's a sudden increase. I think we're lucky."

Explain that to Alize.

Nothing. Again, I'm not talking about no.

That's why the story fits.

Neither does Alize know that much about magicians.

"That's right... so now we're studying together"

I see, and he seems convinced.

There may come a day when you realize something's wrong with me, but then you'll just have to explain it again.
