Episode 242: The Village Behind the Mountains Hathaler and the North Forest

"Well, what the hell do you know? Looking forward to it."

The next day, on the road to Garb's house, Lorraine said so with pleasure.

I know exactly how that feels.

A village in the country quite a bit, seemingly like a normal village, but with some special secret, is like something that has long been the subject of a story.

Such an adventure can only be encountered by so many chosen adventurers, and a common adventurer like us ends his or her adventurer life without coming across such a thing.

Yet this is it when I return home.

It would be that there is no reason not to look forward to it.

"Sure... but I've been hiding it for a long time. Not only to me, but to everyone in the village."

The story is that only three people know the Secret: Garb, Capitan, and Ingo, so the other villagers don't.

Even though it seems like a pretty serious secret, I find it impressive that you could keep it hidden a lot.

Well, I can understand what I don't understand is that it's been a while since I left the village, but it's honestly amazing to be able to hide it through someone like Lili or Fari who's almost always close.

... or was it easy to hide because it wasn't a big secret.

If so, it's a lonely story......

"Mm-hmm. I've been hiding it, because it didn't sound as good to the villagers today. Doesn't it feel like I've hidden it, rather than needing to touch it? So he said he could hide it..."

Lorraine makes a guess, but we still don't know if that fits.

"Oh, you got it. Hey!"

When I turned my gaze forward, there was Garb's house.

And before that, an old woman and a tough man waited to see us.

Garb is wearing a jacket, the Capitan is a hunting outfit, and they are both obviously dressed to go somewhere.

The Capitans in particular had a completely hunter-fighting attitude of lowering their swords on their hips, putting bows and arrows on their shoulders, and carrying arrows on their backs.

Well, if you're gonna say that, we're both dressed to be able to go outside the village.

I've been dressed much easier since I got to the village, but now it's almost a travel costume.

I'm lowering my one-handed sword, and Lorraine is lowering her dagger with a short wand, Wand.

"Now you're all there... I used to say costumes to horses. Lent, you've been acting like an adventurer for so long."

That's what Garb says when he sees me dressed.

I mean, a one-handed sword on a robe and a mask, that's a suspicious example.

Garb tells the story about not coming off about the mask.

It's fashionable in Malt for everyone else, and the city is amazing because it's cloudy with appropriate stories, so I go by.

... Let's pray to God that when everyone even goes to Malt for sightseeing, they don't become a group of masks.

Dear Villo, thank you.

"I don't like this outfit... but it's surprisingly easy to move around and I treasure it because it's convenient"

With that said, the Capitans,

"Convenient? What do you mean?"

I've asked, so I answer honestly.

Absolutely obedient to my master's questions.

Tell me who you are, but I can't answer you.

"It's stronger than regular metal armor, and it plays poison or something. It won't get dirty."

As I say, I wonder how much the hell I can sell it for if I put it up for sale, and I think evil.

I won't sell it because it's hard to think about a life without this anymore, but I'm concerned.

If I go to Appraisal God, I wonder if I can finally get this appraised too...

In my words, Capitan,

"Heh... hey, can I shoot you with my bow for a second?

and asked funny, so I hurried and shook my head and refused.

"No, no, no, because you can't! If the Capitans shoot, they might penetrate!

That's not a compliment, that's a fact. I don't know what this guy seriously shot with a bow and arrow and couldn't penetrate.

Of course, the bow itself is not particularly strong, thanks to the "chi" power he wears.

A weapon that fights in your hand… There are quite a few things that can be said to require a lot of training to be concerned with swords, spears, etc.

But it's incredibly difficult to get "chi" into a weapon that leaves your body.

Yet, Capitan makes it possible, and his shot bow and arrow shoots through even the rock.

With my robe, there's no guarantee I'll be safe.

... I'm probably fine, but I'm not willing to bet.

Capitan gives me an unfortunate look in my answer,

"I don't know what else to do... but I need you to mock me later. I want to taste your arms."

and change the story in an unpleasant direction.

Honestly, give me a break, I think.

Anyway, Capitan is one of those people who laid the groundwork for my fight.

The decent swordsmanship of a one-handed sword was learned from adventurers who came to the village, but in its depths there is always a living skill taught by the Capitans.

If you push with your current physical abilities, you probably won't lose... No, can't you say that necessarily?

I've never seen a Capitan before.

But even so, I can't say no.

Because disciples are absolutely obedient to their masters.

Sighing, I say.

"... ha. Okay, I get it. Later...... so where are we going today?

Garb answers my questions.

"It's the North Forest. Go for the deepest part of it."

I'm a little surprised by what Garb said.

Because when I say north forest, I mean a section of the forest that is supposedly not supposed to be in Hathhaler.

For it is tough for powerful demons to tread and even the hunters of Hathaler to walk around.

"Is that why you're both fully armed..."

In a way, it was convincing.

I've never seen Garb fight, but Lorraine said he would probably be top notch as a magician.

I believe that the Capitans are also top notch warriors.

Those two can usually get in more flustered if the villagers of Hathaler enter the woods, but they both feel a little bit nervous today.

That's all I'm going to get to where it's dangerous, I guess.

"You know what? Don't be alarmed, either. That forest is different from the rest of the forest... I'll go then."

That said, Garb takes the lead and walks out.

We started to move on after that.
