Episode 274: The Dangers of Numerous Secrets and Metastatic Magic Formations

In the meantime, I can't go around all of quite a few metamagic formations today, so I decided to go around just a few.

Which metastatic magic team to go around is a round throw to Galb and Capitan's choice.

Because they use a bunch of metastatic magic formations that we don't use, and they know about that exit.

It's a great way to test the effectiveness of Acacia's Map.

The result is…….

"... um, it seems true that 'places you've been to are mapped'. But as for the metamagic team, unless you use it, you don't see where you're going."

Garb squeaks like that.

The "Map of Acacia" she peeks at had the part described as "To the border city of the Kingdom of Rhina, Alhaza" and "To the island of Daris, Republic of Thorne, the abandoned warehouse of the merchant Daris".

Both are characters listed under the Transfer Magic Formation on the map, and there are a few things that I have learned by this.

"If you use the Metastatic Magic Regiment, the exit location will be described in detail, but for what you are not using, the country name and the municipality location will remain listed."

That's what Capitan said.

In other words, those of the Metastatic Magic Regiment described as "To the border city of the Kingdom of Rhina, Alhaza" have not yet used it, just standing in front of it, and those of the Metastatic Magic Regiment described as "To the island of Daris, the abandoned warehouse of the merchant Daris, Republic of Thorne" have tried it with the Garbs and actually went to the exit once to come back.

Of course, I checked the map before using it, but at that time it only showed up to "Isle of Daris, Republic of Thorne".

When I came back using it, there were more descriptions.

By the way, the island of Daris was a scenic place.

The Republic of Thorne was certainly an island country to the south.

It seems that shipping is developed in a country made up of thousands of islands.

I'd like to take a sea bath sometime.

... Well, it's nothing. I'm still not busy.

There's a pile of things to do, but it's not due.

Of course, I would like to become a divine silver (misril) class soon, but even if I get too tempered, I get stuck.

You should rest in moderation around there.

... lazy.

"I guess I should use it all from one end of the day and put the exact exit on the map"

When I got the word of Capitan and said that, with Lorraine's troubled face,

"... if that's possible, you might want to... see if the exit is safe."

and speak of anxiety.

Garb seems to agree with this,

"... you do worry about that. Having said that, if the exit side is buried in the ground, activating the transfer magic formation will fuse with the rock, I don't think you have to worry about that much because it doesn't seem to happen. It's just better to think that it could be enough, still suddenly transferring between the thrones of some country."

And say horrible things.

Not fusing with rocks, not transferring into walls, is a reassuring material, but transferring between the thrones is...

"You know somehow, don't you? It is only a matter of a few hundred years to say that things to Hathhaler or to the king capital Visterya are old, but other things… will be few if not all as old as the ancient cities here. Rather, isn't it the majority? Then... there will be times when you are building a building on it without knowing there is a transfer magic formation. The Metastatic Magic Formation, as you know, doesn't break. It will be restored even if it breaks, to be exact... but it's been experimented with. We know that activating the Transition Magic Formation in the event of a blockage may cause vertical movement of the appearance position on the exit side"

"Hmm? What does that mean?

Necklaced by Lorraine's words, Lorraine explains.

"To put it plainly... suppose the transfer magic formation on the exit side was written on the floor. Suppose you laid cobblestones on that floor in a way that covered the metastatic magic formation. Using the inlet transfer magic formation in this state, now, what happens?

"... I don't know what to do, do I? The Transition Magic Formation won't break... and it keeps on the floor. As a result, it cannot be transferred…"

"Sure, that's going to happen by reason... in this case, the metamagic team is totally blocked. But in this case, metamagic shows interesting behavior"

"What's that?

"It moves over piled cobblestones. Suit yourself."

"... it's..."

Though I thought it would be convenient, I might be scared from where we stand.

That's it.

If a building stood above the Transfer Magic Formation, it would mean it could move somewhere in that building.

I mean, all of a sudden it shifts between what Garb calls the thrones, that's what it is.

Moreover, the transfer magic formation on the exit side is blocked. Hence...... I can't come back.

I say as Garb adds.

"That would be the case, because I don't often repair old forts and castles and use them. Sometimes when you ask about the history of a noble castle, you start with ancient history so much that you don't lie. Of course, most of that would be a history of appearances to foil, but sometimes all of that is a lie. Some of it would be true... I don't think there's anything normally left of the metamagic team in a building like that. Anyway, it was in that fort in Hathhaler. It's not strange that there are other forts and castles like that that are usually used unknowingly. Sometimes a non-operational transfer magic formation will be buried with a carpet and remain intact. So..."

"If the carpet is laid, will the transfer magic formation be activated with the carpet on top?

When I uttered the question I'd always wondered, Lorraine had a frightened face,

"You... is that what you're asking now?

I came to say.

You don't have a choice. I'm curious.

With such a face, Lorraine explains it properly even as she sighs.

You like this place, I do.

"... it seems to activate, unlike if it's blocked with a carpet-like cloth or something, blocked with stone or something. Then, if the transfer magic formation on the exit side is blocked, move on the carpet. Of course, I've never done it before, so I don't know if it's true... so if that's the case, then suddenly the transfer between the thrones is still a story that can be enough"
