Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha

Episode 524: Stacked Challenges and Self-Sacrifice

"... you should leave the carriage here, right?"

That's what Ribble said and stopped it was one town just west of Malt.

Apparently this is the closest place to his village, Krask Village.

But from here we have to walk to Krask village.

This isn't a libble idea, it's my suggestion.

Originally it was said that there was a path where about one carriage could pass to the village of Krask, but it is now possible that a boner "Skeleton" appears around it as well.

If you don't want to lose your carriage and horse, it's easier to stop riding directly to the village.

Anyway, I don't feel like I can even protect the carriage and the horse, if it's just the ribble, too.

Near the village there are young men among the villagers who say they remain under surveillance, and given that, the carriage should still be left behind.

"You can walk half a day to the village and you'll get there, right?

When I asked, Ribble nodded.

"Yes, it is... are we going now?

I got a request from him yesterday, and while I spent the day in the wild, I got here.

Time is around noon.

It will probably be evening if we head over now, so you should stop fighting the Bones "Skeletons from there.

Then it would be a common sense choice to rest in this town today and then......

"Oh, I'm going now"

I take the opposite view.

Ribble was surprised,

"But I think it's getting dark around here...?

And you can fight with that?

That's what I said. Ribble in the face.

Well, my answer to this is clear, I can fight, I can say.

Because my eyes are normal human...... no, my eyes are far better at night than creatures.

Instead, I can say that it's easier to fight at night for the rest of the creatures to swaddle.

I'm just not going to do that this time.

There's no reason to go any faster.

I say it libbly.

"There are village men watching the village, aren't there? Come on, we have to keep them safe. Well, I was just there by myself, and you might think, now I'm a copper adventurer. It should be better than not being there."

Then Ribble seemed impressed,

"... I can't believe you got that far...! Thank you. Then let's head right over!

I've said.

"What am I supposed to say about the suggestion, but is Ribble all right with his health? If you can't, you can turn it tomorrow..."

I'd like to get there early if I could, but there's nothing I can't do.

But Ribble shook his neck to the side,

"No, I'm fine. Everyone in the village will be more worn out than I was in a safe place... so I'd like to go and reassure you soon."

Not that I'm not tired at all.

But as I said, I nodded when I decided I was likely to be strong enough to get to the village.

"Well, let's go"

That's what I said, you two, out of town.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"... should be around there..."

A small high hill overlooking a small village.

Pointing around the bottom a little bit of that, Ribble said so.

Quite some time has passed since I left town, and the sky is about to see the Book of Darkness descend.

The sunset was illuminating the world with oranges, appealing somewhere to people's instincts for grief and fear.

In the meantime, it was thought that the area indicated by Ribble was an invisible position from the village, and that when monitoring it, it would do so up the hill.

Quietly hiding the signs and approaching, I do see five men sitting there in tunnels.

I can tell by the way that the clothes are worn out similar to the ribble, and the face is coal-fired and quite worn out.

One of them noticed a sign of us approaching... or a ribble and turned this way.

After checking Ribble's face and then getting into my eyes about me too, I could see him smiling slightly as if relieved.

He's relieved.

"... libble. Nice to be back..."

Approaching the distance we could talk, one of the men, especially an older man, slapped the ribble on the shoulder and said so.

Ribble says with a nod.

"Yes...... I could definitely get adventurers to come too. Don't worry."

I was prompted to open my mouth, too.

"... I'm Lent, a bronze adventurer. I came here after this crusade for Skeleton, the boner."

"Ooh...... my name is Jillis and I am the village chief of Krask Village. Still...... is it bronze? Thank you very much. After Ribble stood in Malt, I heard from people in town that there was now a shortage of adventurers in Malt… I also heard and worried that the iron class might be tough for that amount"

That's what an older man says.

I'm monitoring you here, but I'm sure you're on your way to town regularly to procure food.

I'm also continuing to be self-sufficient in the woods on boulders.

It just seemed a little late for information.

That's why the requisition fee that Ribble had complied with the pre-labyrinth standards.

It doesn't all seem that way. The older man goes on.

"I would have liked to collect as much money as I could have... many of it stayed in the village. Collecting most of the money in my hand couldn't get me out any more than that. Yet you come...... Thank goodness."

"The ribble looked so hard and desperate... it caught my eye. We will do everything we can to hit the crusade. Rest assured."

"You're being polite too...... Ribble, you've brought a really good adventurer. You must be tired, too. You should rest first. Lord Lent too... or crusade now?

"No... because the sun is already falling. The undead" undead "will be at a disadvantage because they have a good night's eye. We're going to crusade tomorrow morning through noon."

I'm especially good at night, so don't have a problem with the leaks coming to the villagers here.

Sometimes it would be better during the time they get enough vision to escape.

"Really? We'll join you then."

Jillis says so, but I shook my head sideways on this.

"No... basically I'll do it alone"

With that said, villagers other than Jillis came on board and

"But... it's our village! If we don't let something happen too......!

I'm going to say.

It was understandable from their expression that they were saying in a sense close to self-sacrifice that they didn't want to make an impossible request, but wanted it to be used for shields or anything.

But I'm going to make sure everyone here survives.

So I would have liked them to watch here if they could... you don't seem convinced it feels like this.

They need to think about something...
