Chapter 1369: Marquis! Prince Qing Rushed In!
Feng Fuce let out a helpless laugh. "There is a difference. Once and twice are not the same."
Zhi’er thought for a moment and felt he had a point.
She nodded lightly.
However, the moment her head moved, Feng Fuce’s hand slipped to the back of her neck and pulled her in.
He pressed his forehead directly against the center of Zhi’er’s brows.
Their faces were flush together, their intertwined breaths full of hidden intimacy, quietly declaring the nature of their relationship.
Zhi’er froze for a second. "I...I hadn’t even finished nodding the first time."
Feng Fuce smiled. "It’s enough."
All he wanted was to see a trace of certainty in her expression, even the tiniest bit.
For that alone, he could be overjoyed.
It felt as if Zhi’er had crooked a finger at him; no matter how many hardships lay between them, he would still walk toward her without the slightest hesitation.
Zhi’er didn’t know when exactly she had been pulled onto Feng Fuce’s lap.
She hooked her arms around his neck so she wouldn’t fall.
His hand was resting on her waist.
He still spoke with his lips against her ear, as if he had glued himself to her.
Feng Fuce pinched her chin, first nipping her soft lower lip, then deepening the kiss.
When he wanted to go further, Zhi’er hurriedly grabbed his face in both hands and pinched.
"That’s enough! Don’t get carried away!" she protested in a shy whisper.
The look in Feng Fuce’s eyes flickered between clear rationality and searing heat.
He gazed at Zhi’er. "After your Sealing God Ceremony, when I come back, will you marry me?"
Zhi’er was stunned. "Where are you going?"
She suddenly remembered that those lump-of-coal Demons had overheard Feng Fuce plotting.
They hadn’t caught the exact plan, but Feng Fuce had indeed promised her mother something, and the two of them had even kept it from her on purpose.
Zhi’er couldn’t help pressing him. "Explain yourself clearly—what exactly are you going to do?!"
Feng Fuce chuckled softly. "I mean, after I accompany you and we come back from the Heavenly Realm."
Zhi’er eyed him suspiciously. "Really? There’s no other meaning?"
The way he’d just said it, it hadn’t sounded like he was talking about the same thing at all.
However, Feng Fuce paused for a moment before nodding. "Really."
Zhi’er stared at him for a long while.
Only then did she say, "Then I’ll reluctantly choose to believe you. But if I find out you lied to me, I’ll be mad at you for a long, long time and completely ignore you."
Feng Fuce laughed as he tightened his arms around her.
His chin settled on her shoulder.
"Tell me, do I like you more, or do you like me more?"
Zhi’er’s cheeks were rosy, which made her delicate features even more charming.
She pouted, a little unconvinced. "For all you know, we like each other the same. I just say it out loud less often than you do..."
Feng Fuce merely smiled; his usually cool, narrow eyes were now filled with indulgent warmth.
He took Zhi’er’s hand and once again kissed the reddened mark on her wrist.
"I think I like you more—because just now, at that moment, I was sure that I love you, not just like you."
Love, probably, was being willing to give up everything, just to trade for her happy ending.
Right now, Zhi’er was wholly immersed in Feng Fuce’s gentleness.
After baring their hearts to each other, she had shed her earlier shyness and, without noticing, was now pressed tightly against him.
Seeing she wasn’t resisting, he lowered his head, intending to steal another kiss.
Zhi’er naturally had no objection. She even licked her rosy lips, her lashes quivering lightly like a shy, adorable Little Butterfly.
Just then, the housekeeper’s anxious voice sounded at the door—
"Marquis! Prince Qing has barged in!"
Zhi’er sprang up as if scalded.
Her slender jade-like hand shot out and shoved Feng Fuce’s handsome, cool face away.
