Chapter 110: The Assertive Su Yuqing
Back at home, Chen Mo glanced toward the spot where Wang Lulu had previously photographed the hidden special forces soldier before he stepped inside.
However, he didn’t see anyone there.
It was clear this retired special forces soldier was really something.
At least, even knowing he was hidden nearby, Chen Mo couldn’t spot him directly.
Once inside, Chen Mo was about to head to the kitchen and make two glasses of iced honey lemonade, just like before.
But Su Yuqing suddenly grabbed him.
Surprised, Chen Mo glanced back at her, only to feel a force pushing him forward the next moment.
He never expected to be pushed all the way to the living room by Su Yuqing.
"Just sit still. I’ll do the rest."
For the first time ever, Su Yuqing spoke to Chen Mo using the same tone he often used with her.
This caught Chen Mo off guard, but he also found it a little amusing.
It seemed that in that instant, he’d unexpectedly awakened some new preference.
This feeling of being completely ordered around by a beautiful woman... it felt pretty good, actually.
Chen Mo smiled and obediently sat down.
After sitting on the sofa, he watched Su Yuqing with curiosity, wondering what had gotten into her tonight.
Why had she suddenly become so assertive and proactive?
He’d seen Su Yuqing’s gentle side plenty of times, but this was the first time he’d ever seen her assertive side.
He couldn’t help but find it refreshing.
After watching for a while, though, his fatigue began to creep up on him again.
He immediately lay down on the sofa, gently massaging his temples as he closed his eyes to rest.
With the matters of the mysterious person and the midterms resolved, it was a rare moment to mentally relax.
Chen Mo naturally wanted to take the chance to unwind properly.
Soon, Su Yuqing had prepared two glasses of honey lemonade with a few ice cubes.
"I heard cold drinks can help you feel more alert for a bit," she said, returning to the living room with the two glasses of iced honey lemonade. She handed one to Chen Mo. "Here, drink this."
"Thanks," Chen Mo said with a smile, reaching for it.
But unexpectedly, Su Yuqing suddenly pulled the glass away.
Chen Mo looked at Su Yuqing in confusion, only to see her shake her head and pout. "You told me I wasn’t allowed to say ’thank you’ to you, so you’re not allowed to say it to me either."
So that was why she was teasing him. Chen Mo smiled dotingly. "Alright, alright, you win. Now give it to me."
Seeing his expression, Su Yuqing finally giggled and handed the iced honey lemonade to Chen Mo.
The iced honey lemonade was cool, sweet, and sour. As it slid down his throat, a refreshing chill immediately swept through his body.
It really did make Chen Mo, who had just been feeling utterly exhausted, feel a jolt of renewed energy.
"How is it? Is it okay?" Su Yuqing asked with a smile, taking a small sip from her own glass.
"It’s great. From now on, I’ll leave it to you. I’ll be lazy for a change," Chen Mo joked.
"Okay! Then you’re banned from the kitchen. I’ll take over," Su Yuqing agreed, her eyes crinkling into a smile.
After drinking half a glass, Chen Mo’s spirits had revived a bit.
But even so, he still felt a wave of weariness. He closed his eyes and started to feign sleep while listening to the sounds from the TV.
After drinking a little from her glass, Su Yuqing suddenly stood up and slowly circled around behind Chen Mo.
Just as Chen Mo was resting with his eyes closed, he suddenly felt a soft touch on his head.
When he reached up to touch it, he found two small, soft hands.
He immediately turned his head and looked up to see Su Yuqing standing behind him.
The hyper-vigilance he’d developed as a police detective seemed to have no effect whatsoever when it came to Su Yuqing.
"Keep resting. I’ll give you a massage. I learned a few head massage techniques that can help you relax." Su Yuqing smiled gently and softly turned Chen Mo’s head back to the front.
Hearing this, Chen Mo smiled and closed his eyes again.
As her fingertips sank into his slightly messy hair, Su Yuqing could clearly hear her own heart pounding like a drum in her chest.
She mimicked the movements of the masseuse from the video, pressing her thumbs to his temples and slowly moving them in circles.
"Is the pressure okay?" she asked in a low voice, as if she were holding a piece of fragile porcelain.
His skin was warm beneath her fingertips. They say men have higher body temperatures than women; Su Yuqing wondered if her hands felt cool to him.
When those hands, faintly smelling of lemon, rested on his temples, Chen Mo nearly sank deeper into the sofa.
Su Yuqing’s fingertips seemed to find every tense nerve ending with precision, yet her touch was so soft it caused no pain.
The pressure on the nape of his neck was hesitant and inexperienced, yet it reminded him of his childhood fevers, when his mother would rub his acupoints with mint balm.
When Chen Mo unconsciously pressed the back of his head deeper into her palms, a relieved smile appeared on Su Yuqing’s face.
’Looks like he’s enjoying the massage.’
"Where did you learn this?" he asked with a smile, his eyes still closed. He could imagine her pursing her lips in concentration at that very moment.
"I learned from watching videos on my phone. Is it okay?" Su Yuqing’s soft, gentle voice drifted to his ear, incredibly soothing to hear.
"Not bad, but the pressure is a little light. A bit harder would be even better," Chen Mo said with a smile.
"I’m afraid I’ll hurt you."
"You underestimate me. Let’s see you apply more pressure."
"Okay, I’m really going to press harder now. Tell me if it hurts."
"Go ahead. I’m not afraid of a little pain," Chen Mo said casually.
But he had overlooked something. Although Su Yuqing usually seemed delicate and in need of protection, in reality, she exercised and did chores regularly.
She was no weakling without an ounce of strength.
She actually had some real strength.
Seeing that Chen Mo wanted to test her with more pressure, she didn’t hold back any longer.
Chen Mo heard a nasal "Hmph!" from behind him, and the pressure suddenly intensified, making him instinctively flinch. But her hand stubbornly pushed his head back into place.
"And you said you weren’t afraid of pain," Su Yuqing said with a sly smile, which made Chen Mo blush.
"I really underestimated your strength. Maybe go a little lighter. I suddenly realize I still prefer your gentle side," Chen Mo said, turning his true thoughts into a joke.
But to Su Yuqing’s ears, his words were exceptionally loud and sweet.
For a moment, the pressure from her hands became even lighter than when she had first started.
Chen Mo almost felt like a ball of cotton was massaging his head.
"Don’t be too gentle, either," Chen Mo said with a helpless smile.
Su Yuqing laughed, nodded, and returned to the previous amount of pressure.
