In all of Bistal, no one is aware of the spirit devourer’s attack methods; indeed, Igor and the others need to provide some guidance.

However, Lord Popovich felt it would be better for Igor and the others to seek out people from the Kangen Family.

Temporarily leaving Igor and the others only solves the immediate issue, but without uncovering the real mastermind behind everything, it’s all pointless.

Lord Popovich’s decision reflects his far-sightedness; in his view, everything needs to focus on the future. The enemy’s persistent concealment indicates they’ve deliberated on their plan for a long time.

They are currently in a passive position; if they continue guarding their current interests, the enemies will surely exploit their weakness.

In his letter to Lord Kangen, Lord Popovich reiterated these points.

Coban Kangen embarked on the journey with Igor and Kadi. This will be a long journey.

Because the Kangen Family is located in Xinbal, quite a distance from Bistal.

No one foresaw that Bistal, an ancient city on the brink of decay, would be the first to pave the way for resistance.

Igor lay idly on the carriage, prepared well for this trip, yet found himself bewildered.

He couldn’t understand why he hadn’t found even a Resistor; with spirit devourers appearing time and again, why was there not a trace of Resistors?

Kadi sat quietly beside Igor, learning to drive the carriage under Coban Kangen’s mentorship, having tried several times along the way but unable to grasp the knack. Now, he is sulking in the carriage!

As they departed from Bistal at dawn, their decision was swift, their actions resolute; Igor didn’t even have time to bid farewell to the Circus members, nor to inquire about whether Kruz’s condition had improved. They hurriedly set off, hoping to reach Xinbal early and resolve their confusion.

Igor found it hard to express his trust in Lord Popovich. This trust came from within; Igor inexplicably felt Lord Popovich was reliable. With Lord Popovich guarding Kruz, he felt at ease.

Bistal is engulfed in unseen busyness, as it investigates Lord Bern, studies the spirit devourers, protects the entire city; everything proceeds in a well-ordered manner...

Igor knows that everyone has their role, and his job is to identify the organization’s mastermind.

Despite the long journey to Xinbal, they would persist without hesitation, for the hidden enemy seems unable to contain their eagerness, having already made a move. Though their motives remain unclear, judging by the urgency towards the Craftsman Spirit, these hidden enemies seem compelled to act.

Perhaps due to uncontrollable factors, or possibly other circumstances.

No one can predict all this, and it all awaits Igor and the others’ exploration.

It seems that only Igor and their exploration can offer answers.

Their direction is temporarily set on the Kangen Family, although it’s an ancient family, nearly everyone in the Empire is aware of it.

This family nearly controls the entire Wizard Alliance.

The Kangen Family is a family of wizards, with each generation’s head a prominent wizard; about five out of ten members of the Wizard Alliance are from the Kangen Family, and the others, even if not family members, are wizards nurtured by them.

In Kayne Empire, wizards greatly admire the Kangen Family.

Coban Kangen is an exception and hardly ranks in the family; he hasn’t become a wizard, meaning he’s not in the family’s core layer, nor can he enter any family-recruited organizations.

The Kangen Family is massive, firmly rooted in Xinbal, supporting the entire Wizard Alliance, and contributing many great wizards to Kayne Empire.

Igor on the carriage let his thoughts wander; he wasn’t particularly familiar with such ancient families, having scarcely heard of them. His focus often differed from others; what others cared about didn’t interest him, while what others abandoned he might treasure.

At this moment, Igor was disturbed by chaotic thoughts, yet he always found ways to escape these diversions.

Igor cared most about the Resistors, yet they hadn’t left a trace, making him overthink. To prevent this, he diverted his concerns elsewhere.

In the past, he’d consult the Spirit Book; now, he continuously polishes his Meteor Sword. Through this, he both disperses his restless mood and hopes to gain new insights with renewed focus.

Lying in the carriage, Igor began incessantly polishing his sword...

"Or should, I polish your sword too?"

Kadi’s sulking also distracted Igor.

Kadi, however, didn’t respond to Igor, focused on sulking due to many failed attempts to control the carriage in his mind...

"Forget it, I’ll continue polishing my sword."

The carriage presented a peculiar scene: two good friends, each irritated, neither paying attention to the other.

Fortunately, the scene wouldn’t last much longer, as they’d soon leave the carriage to head to the steam rail platform.

Given the long journey to Xinbal, relying only on the carriage wouldn’t reach there quickly; Luona’s steam rail suits perfectly for this task, and it’s Igor’s first time taking Kadi on such a venture.

The carriage suddenly halted, indicating their arrival at the steam rail platform.

Everywhere was filled with roaring sounds and wailing noises.

The steam rail platform’s sounds diminished Kadi and Igor’s troubles, as faced with novel things, they relentlessly pursued them.

They certainly wouldn’t miss something as novel as the steam rail.

"Have we arrived?" Kadi jumped off the carriage first, eyes wide, asking Coban.

"Indeed, we’ve arrived at Bistal’s steam rail station!"
