Chapter 433: The Hunter Came to ME? S-Rank Acknowledgment Quest
[You are about to enter the "Frostbite Cavern"]
[Please select the difficulty:]
[Hard] [Hell] [Nightmare]
’No [Abyss] difficulty this time,’ Leon thought with a grin, ’Good enough for now, I’ll take what I can get.’
Completing dungeons would be the smartest way to get stronger, though Leon would need to watch out for his experience points gains and not level up too fast.
’Well, even defeating tens thousands of level 100 monsters won’t be enough to make me level up at this rate,’ he calculated, doing the math in his head.
After all, once Leon reached level 99, the average level 100 monster would only start giving a few thousands experience points.
Compared to the 100 million he needed, that wasn’t much at all, so he could grind freely without worrying about hitting the cap too quickly.
’I so wish I could skip the [Celestial] passive which forced me to move forward,’ Leon sighed, ’Perhaps there is a way though...’
Leon was about to select the [Nightmare] difficulty, but right as he was about to confirm his choice, a voice interrupted him from behind, startling him.
"You seem strong, human."
He heard a voice, and there, right before his eyes, stood a man wearing a giant backpack with several necklaces hanging from it.
Each one made from a different monster’s remains, their materials glowing with latent power.
Every piece of equipment on his body was made from an extremely powerful monster, the materials gleaming with an otherworldly light.
And the gaze in his eyes spoke of intense combat experience and countless battles fought and won across the domains.
His face was weathered and scarred, with deep lines etched across his skin like a map of his adventures.
A thick beard coveredhis jaw and a perpetual smirk playing at his lips that suggested he knew more than he let on.
Leon didn’t even need to use [Eye of Truth] to know who this guy was, his appearance and aura unmistakable to anyone who knew.
"The [Hunter]?!" Leon exclaimed, his eyes widening in genuine surprise and disbelief.
"Oh?" the man grinned, his eyes glinting with amusement at Leon’s reaction, "So you do know me, good to know that my reputation isn’t completely gone as I keep rejecting these weak fools who approach me."
Leon couldn’t even believe that the [Hunter] was right there before his eyes, the man he wanted to meet for a long time.
"But why..." Leon started, confused by the sudden appearance.
"I heard some powerful figure defeated the [Abyss] difficulty Catacombs, and that they are pretty famous around here," the hunter spoke, "So of course, I came directly to you to see if you are worthy of my attention."
That was unlike anything Leon had ever heard, usually, you were the one supposed to find the [Hunter] through extensive searching and luck, not the other way around.
And yet he came directly to find Leon, seeking him out specifically, which spoke volumes about his reputation.
And at that moment, a quest notification appeared before Leon, confirming the encounter and setting the stakes.
Ding!
[You have received an S-Rank quest "Prove Your Worth #1"]
[Objective: The Hunter is still skeptical of your capabilities, defeat the "Frostbite Cavern" in Nightmare difficulty to show him what you can do before he leaves this place!]
[Reward: Acknowledgment from the Hunter.]
[Penalty for failure: The Hunter leaves permanently, never to return.]
At that moment, Leon knew that he needed to do whatever he could to get the Hunter to acknowledge him and prove his worth.
After all, the rewards he promised to the very few beings he acknowledged were beyond what you could obtain anywhere else in the higher domains, legendary treasures and abilities.
"That’s a two-part quest by the way," the Hunter smiled, his eyes gleaming with mischief, "After you’re done with this... well, you’ll see what comes next."
Of course, Leon already knew the second part of the quest from his past life, but he still nodded, accepting the challenge.
At the same time, he used his Eye of Truth skill on the Hunter to check his status panel, curious about his true power and capabilities.
[The Hunter (Ultimate)]
[Level: 100]
[Talent: Hunter (SS-Level)]
[Combat Power: Around 30,000,000.]
[Details: A mysterious being that roams the higher domains looking for anybody worthy enough to take on his legendary quests, he has rejected thousands of players but acknowledges only a handful across all of existence, making his approval incredibly rare.]
’30 million, holy shit,’ Leon’s eyes widened as he saw that staggering number, ’The strongest being across the entirety of the higher domains, without question.’
If the [Hunter] wanted, he could pretty much annihilate everything and everybody he met without breaking a sweat, but he was pretty pacifist except if someone attacked him directly.
"Well, I’ll be waiting in the stronghold, I quite like it there," the Hunter smiled, "See you later."
Fwoosh!
And just like that, the [Hunter] blitzed out of his spot, and it wasn’t that he teleported, he was simply way too fast for Leon’s perception to see him move, disappearing in the blink of an eye without a trace.
Either way, Leon was happy that he didn’t have to look for the [Hunter] at all anymore, saving him precious time and effort.
Regardless, he selected the [Nightmare] difficulty of the [Frostbite Cavern], the highest available option.
His initial goal was to look for ways to get stronger in dungeons, but with the [Hunter]’s quest now at play, all Leon wanted to do was quickly get done with this and return to the stronghold.
He needed to know if he could be "worthy" fast and move on to the next part of the challenge that awaited him.

[You have selected "Nightmare" difficulty.]
Immediately, the portal that would teleport to the dungeon grew in size and emitted a chilly aura that made the ice in the ground around it turn in a deep blue color, the cold intensifying noticeably.
Leon took a deep breath, steeling himself, then he walked through the portal without hesitation, his body disappearing into the light.

A/N
Much like with the [Primordial Dragon of Chaos], it feels good to finally reveal the [Hunter] after hundreds of Chapters of talking about him lol.
