The men were all silent. Standing there and staring at each other without knowing what to do or think.

The cry of the little one kept sounding from within. And they were more sure that it was a cub!

"We haven’t seen a cub in our land before. We..."

"It’s finally a cub..." One sounded nervous. Some were nervous as they didn’t know how to react to finally having a cub in their land. They didn’t know what to do.

"What do we do now?" A male zebra asked as he stared at them. "What do we do now?"

They looked around as one suggested immediately. "I think we should celebrate.. I think we should.. celebrate." They were already getting nervous.

"Yes yes! Someone light the fire and play some music! We finally have a cub!"

A loud cheer burst out as they all dispersed to proceed with their celebration. The fire was set and burnt out loud while they all began singing and dancing around it.

The tribe had never experienced the joy of having a cub. They had believed their land was never fit to have any at all. But this had changed everything.

Not only had the female saved them all from death, she had also given them a cub! Something they didn’t even know if they were worth wishing for!

Ayra lay there on the bed with Ash beside her, the little brown fox in her arms. Ayra couldn’t help but smile at the adorable little one sitting in her arms.

The little one was tiny and adorable. It looked so fragile that it was as if one could easily smash it with a hand or so. The hair was red and soft along with its tiny red fox ears. The little one had a tiny red tail as well as it clung onto Ayra firmly while it kicked and made tiny sounds. Its eyes were still closed.

Ayra smiled as she adored the little one that was hers. She couldn’t look away. And so could Lord Ash. Ash sat beside her, staring at the little one while feeling extremely nervous.

He couldn’t believe his eyes. He couldn’t believe that he finally had a cub and this was his. The little fox was his cub. Something he never thought was possible.

"Congratulations, female," the old rabbit smiled while he stared at the scene.

"Thanks a lot," Ayra appreciated.

"Is it a male or a female...?" Ash asked.

"It’s a female."

"..."

Silence filled the room as the three leaders stared at the old rabbit and then stared at the adorable little thing.

This increased their panic because handling a cub was already strange to them. And now a female? They didn’t know how to take care of or raise a female and this had them worry more, especially Ash.

Ash smiled nevertheless as he ran his fingers through the little one’s fluffy cheeks. "Don’t worry, I’ll take extreme good care of you, little girl."

It was rather interesting how these males were finally getting their first cub which was a female. They would certainly have to work two times harder to make the little girl feel comfortable.

"You can carry her," Ayra offered as she handed the little one to Ash. Ash slowly took her in while panicking as the little girl sat in his arms.

He was instantly worried that he might not be holding her well. "Is it like this...? Am I holding her well...? Will she feel pain if I hold her like this? Huh? Will she cry? Should I hold her like this?"

Ash kept asking Ayra endlessly while carrying the little one. Ayra smiled with a nod. "Don’t worry, you’re doing a good job."

Ash smiled with a nod while staring at the little girl. Immediately, the little girl slowly opened its huge sparkling eyes as she stared at Ash. Slowly, the cub smiled at him while stretching out her hands to Ash.

Ash felt his heart melt instantly. It fluttered beyond words as he stared at her. "Did you see that? She smiled at me.. she.. she smiled at me.."

Vale smiled at him as he shook his head. "Yes, we saw it."

Ash smiled a bit too much that tears had begun rolling down his eyes without him even knowing.

Shocked, Lord Vale and Zark stared at each other and then at him.

"Are you crying?"

"Shut up," he snapped as he held the baby firmly while staring at its big sparkling eyes.

Vale casually laughed watching him crying while holding the baby.

The noise outside kept growing. And it was clear that they were having some sort of celebration out there.

Zark sighed as he shook his head. "How noisy," he said as he turned and made his way out.

Standing before the crowd of men celebrating, he said, "Keep it down, she’s trying to get some rest."

"..."

"..."

"..."

No one said anything. They instantly fell silent as he turned and made his way back inside.

Vale smiled at him. "Caring for the female I see."

"Shut up," Zark snapped at him.

Ash still had his eyes on the little girl as he asked, "So what do we name her?"

Ayra smiled as she sighed, leaning backwards. "You should do the honors then."

"Oh," Ash blinked as he stared at the little one that was playing with his fingers. His mind scanned through endless names he could possibly give.

But sadly he couldn’t come up with any at the moment. His brain had gone numb and empty especially since it was a female name. "I can’t think of anything..."

"Don’t worry, take your time and think about it. We can name her then," Ayra smiled at him.

Ash slowly nodded while he held the cub firmly in his hands. The old man had suggested that Ayra needed to get some rest. So they were recommended to let her sleep. And so they did.

Ayra was put to bed to rest after the labor while no one bothered her at all. They made their way out while letting her get all the rest she needed.
