Chapter 105: Fight to Pamper - Not so Bad
"I can’t believe this is mine.. I.. I can’t believe I have an heir.. I can’t..." Even yesterday when he told the female he wanted her to bear his cub, he was still skeptical that it would be possible.
After seeing Lord Ash have a cub, the two beastmen had wanted the female to also give them cubs too! They wanted to know how it felt. And last night was their chance to make that request.
They were skeptical, scared that it wouldn’t work for them at all. But hearing this news, their eyes set on the female with immense shock.
Lord Vale smiled as he gently ran his hand over her stomach, soothing her. "So... My cub is alive... And in here..?" He was still in disbelief. "My heir is.. existing..?" He didn’t know how to express his shock and excitement.
Ayra smiled as she slowly nodded. "Yes. Our little one is in here." Lord Vale still stared in shock.
Lord Zark had no words. He sat there for a while, staring down at her stomach. And when he couldn’t present any words, he slowly leaned in as well.
The dragon ran his nose through her stomach, feeling every scent and energy that came from it. And immediately, he pulled back to stare at her.
The dragon was speechless. His expression was still cold and calm, but Ayra could see the excited shock on them.
"You.. you have my cub in you...?" He confirmed as though he hadn’t perceived it himself.
Ayra casually smiled without saying anything as he leaned in again. He sniffed through her stomach, feeling her with his nose while Ayra stared.
"What? How many times will you confirm?" She asked.
The dragon lord cleared his throat as he pulled away, struggling to keep his calm even though it was almost impossible. "I’m just making sure that the female has my heir too..."
"Have you confirmed it then?" Vale asked, teasing.
He slowly nodded as he said awkwardly, "Yes..."
Ayra smiled again. She couldn’t believe how awkward the great dragon lord was growing after hearing the news of his heir.
She could tell that he was excited inside even though he didn’t wish to show it. He was basically jumping inside while masking it with a cold expression.
He stared at her as he said, "You have my heir now... So you have to be extremely careful and take good care of yourself..." He said in a dominant tone.
"..." Lord Vale and Ayra watched him.
Zark continued as he stared down at her stomach. "I’ll also work hard on my own side to take care of the female and the heir.." he stared at her stomach.
"You shouldn’t go out anywhere without my knowledge. You can’t be around dangerous males. You can’t heal or soothe anyone without me knowing. You can’t use a lot of energy. You can’t walk around a lot... You can’t.."
"Hey.." Ayra stopped him as she stared at him. "Why all the rules..? It’s okay, I can take care of myself..."
"..."
Lord Vale smiled as he shook his head. "And that’s how our dear dragon is. It gets worse because he gets unreasonably dominant and possessive in situations like this..."
Vale smiled as he ran his fingers through the female’s stomach. "Well, I guess I have some competition since the female has both of our cubs," he smiled.
He tilted his head. "An F-rank female who could bear both our cubs at the same time.. you sure are skilled," he smiled, pleased and happy from the news still.
"Don’t worry female, I’ll take good care of you and our cub. I’ll make sure nothing happens... I’ll make sure you don’t do anything, and I’ll make sure to offer you the best soup and medicine in this period."
Lord Vale promised while running his fingers through her stomach.
"I’ll protect you," Lord Zark said in a cold tone as though his promise was the best of them all.
Lord Vale stared at him. "I can also protect the female while giving her the best soup."
Lord Zark scoffed. "I’ll give the female the best protection ever. Since I’m stronger... And I can also learn to make soup to give the female..." He insisted.
Lord Vale shook his head. "No, my protection would still be better. Besides, I’m better at taking care," he insisted.
"Says who? My heir is in there first so I should take control and take care of the female the best," Zark said.
"Doesn’t matter. I know best," Vale insisted.
And so the two of them set off into another bickering session on who could take care of the female best while Ayra lay there in-between staring at them.
She blinked, staring from one to another. And then she said, "Well... The two of you could take care of me equally I guess...?"
They paused as they stared down at her. Silence and then Zark said, "Yes, I guess we could..." Zark sighed as he added, "But I’ll still be better at it..."
Lord Vale scoffed as he said, "I doubt you ever could."
They kicked off another bickering session. And Ayra just lay there watching them. She guessed there was no stopping them anytime soon.
Ayra smiled. Well she guessed she’d need that pampering while she was at it.
And just while the two of them were bickering on who would pamper the female and take care of her best during her pregnancy period, a knock came on the door.
A guard was knocking on the door and he knocked long enough before they stopped arguing and turned to the door.
"What is it?" Lord Zark asked in his dominating tone enough to send someone flying.
And immediately, the person on the other end of the door said, "Well... Something has gone wrong..."
They went quiet to listen as the guard hesitated before he announced in a shaky tone, "The cub...it seems... It seems the cub has gone missing!"
He announced, leaving the three of them shocked beyond words.
"What?" Ayra was the most shocked as she immediately began preparing to leave without a second thought, panicking.
The other two didn’t hesitate as well. They had begun preparing as well to go after her.
