Chapter 2156 - 1088: Small Fry, Tiger, and Swan (2)
Messiah spent her entire life seeking recognition from her Mother Superior, but her efforts were in vain.
And now, the merciless Divine King had gone through the trouble of dressing up just for Miss’s birthday banquet.
The disparity in treatment...
Of course, there really isn’t any right or wrong about it. After all, whether it’s the background of Messiah or the current background of Sophia, they are both just mistakes.
Both should never have existed in the first place.
They were born out of others’ delusions, and whether it’s the Lord of Glory or the God King, they are actually victims too. It’s natural for them not to recognize these offspring.
Sophia had long come to terms with it, and she wouldn’t harbor any feelings of jealousy or hatred, at most, just a slight sense of loss.
Moreover, her situation was much better than Messiah’s.
At least, her Mother Gabriel had acknowledged her as a daughter. The moment this Lord of Glory entered, she smiled gently at her, clearly showing she had a place in her heart.
Although the God King still refused to acknowledge her as his daughter, during their time in the Underworld, he asked her to call him sister, which in itself was a rare acceptance.
And in any case, she was no longer the lonely Messiah; she had found her belonging. She had a mentor and Miss, and was already quite happy. She had no need to seek more.
Thus, the Pure White Witch shifted her gaze from these prominent figures, looking for a familiar figure.
However...
No.....
Where did Miss go?
Sophia paused, then furrowed her brows slightly.
Well well, it is your birthday banquet after all. Everyone is here attending the feast, but you, the main character, have slipped away.
The Pure White Witch felt both amused and frustrated.
But, as she laughed, the small strand of hair on the top of her head wavered, and she suddenly felt uneasy, as if something bad was about to happen to her.
This was a warning from Fate.
Could it be related to Miss?
Sophia was unsure.
After all, Miss was a Fate insulator, and she could not perceive her fate.
However, the warning from Fate was directed at her, indicating her own crisis, although it was unclear who was causing it.
This, in itself, was an answer. If it were someone else causing the trouble, the Pure White Witch should have been able to detect that person’s identity. Now, with no clues, it was an answer in itself.
If the world is white and you alone are black, then who else could this conspicuous black be?
At once, the Pure White Witch smiled and said to the guests in front of her.
"I apologize, everyone, please excuse me for a moment to freshen up my makeup."
Of course, she wasn’t really going to touch up her makeup; her face still looked impeccable, extraordinarily beautiful.
But witches no longer had the need for typical excuses like going to the restroom, so using ’freshening up makeup’ was a common substitute to excuse oneself for a reason.
The guests who were initially conversing with her immediately understood, as they too were seasoned.
Some smiled and raised their glasses to bid farewell, continuing to chat with others, while some raised their eyebrows, feeling that this young Angel Witch was being somewhat arrogant due to favoritism.
However, Sophia clearly had no time to bother with what these guests were thinking.
While she initially intended to help Miss form some connections, the increasing unease in her heart left her with no mood to do so.
She quickly walked to the entrance of the banquet hall, but before stepping out, she turned back and looked at the banquet hall again.
Everyone was enjoying the feast; everyone was engaged in their own conversations, and none could step away. The banquet seemed to possess a magical allure, captivating everyone, including the Dragon King and God King, the Lord of Glory and two Demon Gods...
Is this normal?
The Pure White Witch instinctively shivered.
This was clearly abnormal, yet who could achieve such a feat?
Just as Sophia was both shocked and puzzled.
She suddenly noticed Gabriel’s gaze on her, blinking at her.
"Silly girl, what are you waiting for? If you don’t hurry, you’ll soon be crying."
The voice of her Mother Superior echoed in her ear.
Yes, this time it wasn’t a subtle hint from fate, but a direct indication.
The Pure White Witch no longer hesitated. She stepped out of the banquet hall, and her white hair began to turn gray. Twelve wings, half black and half white, spread out behind her, and she vanished from sight.
The next moment, she appeared at the Empress Hall, standing before Miss’s door.
She knocked on the door and waited for three seconds.
There was silence from within, as if there was no one inside.
Could it be that Miss hadn’t returned to her room?
Sophia thought to herself.
But in the next second, she intuitively dismissed this possibility.
After all, she understood her Miss well; she wasn’t the type to wander aimlessly. She preferred to stay in her room browsing the Magic Network or delving into Magic Knowledge.
But if Miss was indeed in the room, she would have opened the door immediately, rather than not responding for three seconds.
Something indeed happened.
The Gray Witch confirmed in her heart and, without further hesitation, kicked open the door.
Luckily, the door wasn’t sealed with any strange magic, and she easily opened it, rushing inside.
