Other World Assassin Life of a Man who was a Shut-in

Episode 103: Goodbye and Promise

The next day from the battle with Grossrabbits.

It seems to have happened later than usual because of the banquet the day before.

I woke my body out of bed with my body stretched a little and looked out the window of my room and it seemed like a few hours had already passed since the sun had risen. It's already making noise outside the room.

By the way, I decided to leave Barris Village after breakfast today.

The idea has already been conveyed to the Gant family and Mr. Zonga, as well as Singh.

I was desperately held back by Thing when I told him about this yesterday, but when I told Frox that there were people waiting for me to come home, Thing was reluctant but convinced me.

Something like that happened. I was supposed to leave early this morning, but this doesn't seem possible.

Well, I can't help regretting it now. Do you want to get ready and head to the dining room?

That's what I think. When I get comfortable easily, I walk out of my room and into the dining room. When I arrived on the first floor, I heard Mr. Gant's good health.

"Oh, you finally woke up, Yuma!

"Good morning, Mr. Gant. Still, you should have been making all that noise yesterday. You look as good as ever. Aren't you tired or something?

"Well, I used to banquet like every day. Maybe my body got used to it. Are you okay with your body? Looks like you were making a lot of noise yesterday."

"Right. It is slightly heavy. Well, I had fun yesterday, so I don't have any complaints. It's been a really long time since I've had all that fun and noise."

"Wouldn't that be nice? Then I'll ask Maria for your breakfast. Well, sit around and relax."

Mr. Leftover Gant walked into the kitchen.

I'm a little sorry, but I can't beat hunger and wait.

As I sat down and relaxed, Marie noticed me sitting in my front seat.

"Mr. Yuma, if you had breakfast, you'd leave. I'm sorry you wanted to have my cooked dinner again. Hey, will you come to Barris Village again?

"Right. Barris Village is a comfortable place for me, especially here. I'll come back to see you when I can. I'll be sure to have Marie's dinner then."

When I said that, Marie put her face closer to me and said happily.

"Really!? Because I will desperately practice by then. Promise."

Leftover Marie skips back to the kitchen.

And Maria brings me a ready breakfast so I can swap with Marie.

"Thank you for your patience, Yuma. Eat slowly."

"I'm sorry I'm late, Maria. I'll take it."

A few minutes later, having beautifully finished the breakfast that Maria had made for me, I headed to the kitchen with an empty dish and said goodbye to Maria and Marie.

And finally, I greet Mr. Gant, who is waiting for me in front of the door.

"Thank you again for everything, Mr. Gant. I'm coming to this village again, so thank you again then."

"What are you talking about, Yuma? We're the ones who took care of him. You saved the village of Barris twice. I really appreciate it. Looking forward to seeing you again."

"I feel the same way about Mr. Gant. I promise I'll come and see you. Now if you'll excuse me."

Yes, I left Mr. Gant behind, and I left Lotus at the inn.

As I walked out of the inn to the entrance gate of the village, the villagers thanked me over and over again. I'm just feeling a little complicated because it's Thing that I tried so hard this time.

When I arrived at the gate, which had thus been worn down by Grossrabbits, there was a Singh there, the village chief, who had a look on his face that seemed to put up with crying.

I'm about to cry a little too at the look on Thing's face like that, but be patient and speak to Mr. Zonga first.

"Thank you for all your help, Mr. Zonga. I will definitely come back."

"Um, be sure to come. The inhabitants of Barris Village are welcome in Lord Yuma. Yeah, well, if I ever get another chance to come back, it's not a bad idea to banquet the whole village again."

"I'm looking forward to that. I will definitely be joining you then. Now if you'll excuse me around here."

Yes, I left Mr. Zonga to go to Singh for the last time.

With me in front of him, Singh couldn't bear to cry anymore, and he started crying. I smile a little bit and gently place my hands on Thing's head.

Then the amount of tears gradually decreases. And when the tears stop altogether, Singh wipes the remaining tears forcefully with his arms and makes a declaration to me with a well-prepared look.

"Brother, I'll be an adventurer. To adventurers like your brother and father."

I was not particularly surprised by what Singh said. While acting with Thing, I somehow understood that I admired the adventurer.

When I look at Mr. Zonga standing behind Thing, I have a bitter smiling look at Thing's words of becoming an adventurer. Looks like we've already convinced him.

If that's the case, all I can do is advise you as a senior adventurer. I stared into Thing's eyes and said with a slightly harsh look.

"Thing, I understand you're going for an adventurer. I'm trying to say something too, but I've been an adventurer for months. I can't say anything special."

Thing seems surprised by my adventurer history, but he listens to me in silence, not in his mouth.

The expression is more serious than I've ever seen before.

"That's about all I can say. Thing, if you want to be an adventurer, think about being strong first. This is only my idea, but the adventurers are the ones who have decided to live in battle if they speak of polarity. If there's something that an adventurer can rely on, it's just his own strength."

"All you can rely on is your own strength..."

"Don't forget that it's just my idea. I haven't even put together a PT yet. Maybe he just doesn't know the behavior of relying on someone. And be careful not to neglect courtesy for strength alone. That's all I have to tell you."

At the end of my story, Thing nodded in a nervous manner.

To relieve such tension in Thing, I broke my stern expression and said with a smile.

"There's nothing to be nervous about, Singh. Fortunately, you have talent. You just have to get stronger slowly without hurry. With Mr. Zonga, Mr. Gant, and everyone in Barris Village."

When I say so, Thing seems to have relieved me of my nervousness.

And me and Thing were supposed to exchange the last promises we had.

"Brother, I'm going to be strong. With grandpa and everyone in the village. So, when I grow up to be a one-man adventurer, will you go on another adventure with me?

"Oh, of course. You would make a good adventurer. I'm looking forward to seeing the time come. Well, it's time to say goodbye."

When I say goodbye time, Thing's eyes get a little cloudy again.

But now I'm not going to cry, and I'm going to say goodbye with a good look in my eyes.

"See you later, brother. You'll never come back!

Yes, I said it with a smile from what I've seen.

I also said with a smile on my face about the Thing.

"Yeah, I'll definitely come back. I promise. I'll see you around, Thing!

And finally, I turn my back on Barris Village.

If you look behind your back, Mr. Zonga was watching my run and it was solidifying, and Thing next door kept waving desperately until he couldn't see me away.
