Chapter 656: I Want to Kiss You
For a moment, Chloe Reed was a little unsteady.
She couldn’t resist writing in his palm, "What are you doing? Broke your leg?"
Walker Grant closed his fingers, feeling the lingering coolness on her fingertips. He spoke in a low voice, "My world is completely dark, and you’re my only lifeline. I have no choice but to hold on to you tightly."
His words left Chloe Reed speechless.
She pursed her red lips and looked ahead.
’Forget it.’
’What’s the point of arguing with him?’
Just then, the bodyguards nearby saw this and started over to help.
Walker suddenly spoke. "Stay where you are."
The bodyguards froze, then turned and "vanished" once more.
Chloe gave him a surprised look and wrote in his palm, "Is your hearing that sharp?"
"Yes," Walker answered. "To feel your presence, I’m always listening for you."
Chloe Reed was speechless.
’Is this guy ever going to stop?’
She decided to ignore him and continued walking slowly forward.
Behind the inpatient building was a small park where patients could go for a walk and get some fresh air.
Night was falling, and the small park was now empty.
The weather here was much warmer than in Breyburn; it wasn’t cold even in a single layer of clothing.
Walker found it awkward to walk while she supported his arm, so he simply draped his arm over her shoulder instead.
That way, she was pulled against his side, but she could still guide him forward.
His scent enveloped her, and she could feel the searing heat of his body.
Chloe walked to a bench, patted his shoulder, and wrote in his palm, "Let’s sit here for a while."
"Okay."
Walker was very careful as he sat down, but somehow, he still staggered.
He instinctively reached for Chloe Reed. The sudden grab made her lose her footing, and she tumbled onto the bench.
And he fell right on top of her.
"Mmph..."
Their faces bumped into each other, and Chloe let out a muffled grunt.
"Chloe, I’m sorry."
Walker immediately apologized, his hand reaching out to touch her face. "Where did you get hit?"
The two of them were extremely close. Walker moved slightly, and the tip of his nose brushed against her cheek.
Chloe grabbed his hand, trying to write, but he reversed his grip, holding her hand fast and preventing her from moving.
Chloe’s fine brows immediately knitted together.
’What is he doing?’
’If he’s holding my hand, how am I supposed to talk?’
Walker gently caressed her face, tracing her features bit by bit. His own face moved slowly until, finally, the tip of his nose gently touched hers.
Chloe’s breath hitched, her long lashes trembling uncontrollably.
In the dim light, the man’s eyes were bound with white gauze. The lower half of his face was sharply chiseled, his thin lips particularly alluring.
He explored with the tip of his nose, as if he were taking in her scent or sensing her presence.
Then, he tentatively moved closer and kissed her on the lips.
Chloe’s breath caught.
"Is this okay?"
Walker pulled back slightly, his voice growing husky.
Chloe’s fingers curled. She opened her mouth to speak, only to remember that she couldn’t.
She suddenly turned her face away and forcefully pulled her hand free.
She took out her phone and quickly typed, "I thought you wanted to come out for some fresh air?"
Walker was still very close to her, so he felt it when she turned her face away.
He lowered his head slightly, his forehead gently touching hers.
Then, he said in a hoarse voice, "But Chloe, I want to kiss you."
