Our demon king is coming. (formerly Mayday A Series)

30: Makia, peek more than the church.

The church in the heart of Carted is a very quiet place on the back from this bustling town.

A beautiful painting of stained glass just quietly gathers light and looks down on us.

The famous paintings of stained glass that capture the mythology of Mayday A in this world are drawn sideways by each of the nine gods, but I always think every time I see this painting.

Only the ninth God is looking forward. Even though all the other gods are lying down.

I wonder why.

A glass of green and blue, somewhere cold and quiet, falls all over the darkness of the church.

"I don't care about that."

I came here from the window on the right side of the church to observe the empty space next door.

Thor was in a vacant lot, gathering and listening to children of what seemed like a poor age.

What the hell are you talking about?

"You guys, just being able to read the letters changes my life. You can read books."

"Doctor - but I don't have the money to buy a book -"

"Sort of. Oh, there's plenty of books if you go to school. There's a library."

"... hmm"

The faces of some pokant kids are interesting.

"Knowledge becomes a weapon. You chimney-cleaning husbands are only a few years away, so we need to think about what happens next. Carted is a good place to take chances as a merchant. Knowledge comes in handy when you want to do business with people all over the continent."

Thor is distracting the teacher.

What you're saying is the most important thing, but I'm not sure the kids understand.

It seems very difficult to explain it to children using simple words.

Then I lined up the treats in the bag and started teaching them how to calculate, but I'm surprised that even children who can't read the letters can do this.

"Wow, that's the merchant town!!

Even Thor is surprised.

For working children whose money calculations are routine, adding or deducting the number of treats, hanging or splitting seems to be before breakfast.

Making money or selling things is what they need to live for.

……

I've never seen such a hard-working Tor.

Answering the kids' questions, squeezing out understandable words doesn't bother you and still doesn't throw it out.

Did I mention that I can be intimate because I know my poor life?

As hot and bitter as it gets.

Classes were going peacefully for a while, but there were kids out there who got tired of studying along the way. Some kids are suddenly getting up and running around there.

"Hey there, to Antonio, Bruno!! Just calm down!!

"Yada. Goodbye, Dr. Thor, ghost."

And when a slightly bigger boy says Antonio signals, suddenly the mess starts.

The kids keep the treats they were using to calculate, and run away as they say cah-cah.

"Not again. Hey!! Don't run away with this!!

Thor starts chasing it with all his might.

"No, no, no."

"Dr. Thor's Sukiko"

"Pervert!"

That sounds pretty good to me.

I am totally played by the kids. You know Sukikota and all that.

And most importantly, it's lumpy.

To the slightly dispersed children, Tor seems to be burning his hands all the time.

Oh, well. That was this earlier, wasn't it?

I was convinced.

The noisy square became quiet at once, but I could not distract myself from the square where no one was present.

The truth is, here, even though I have to go after the Tors, too.

I don't know, I think I was a little mistaken about Thor being a cartel.

"... what are you looking at, girl"

It was, really sudden.

There wasn't supposed to be anyone in the church, but all of a sudden the smoke and smell on my nose drifted from behind me.

Didn't you just notice that people were approaching because I was simply fumbling with things?

Looking back, a young man of good stature stood right behind him as he blew the flue.

Who's there?

A slightly magical tingle of air was felt in the smoke drifting quietly.
