Audrey didn’t know how long she had been unconscious; it all felt like a dream, transitioning from a carefree childhood to a nightmare-like marriage, then to a decadent and luxurious life after breaking free, until she glimpsed the other side of the world...

She didn’t know how long it had been since she felt so relaxed, without a single distracting thought during sleep, yet Audrey wasn’t happy at all because... she had been arrested!

The moment Audrey opened her eyes, the memory of being captured completely occupied her mind. She observed her surroundings: thick brick walls, a riveted iron door without a single gap, even the fist-sized ventilation holes were sealed.

There was no doubt that she was locked in a dark cell, with all her equipment taken away, leaving nothing but a simple bed without any extra items.

She was bold enough to dig graves at night, descending alone into eerie, terrifying tomb chambers, taking various things from dead bodies amidst all kinds of dangers.

But this situation made Audrey start to panic.

For someone who loves thrill and freedom, the thought of being imprisoned for the rest of her life in such a dark, confined space filled her heart with intense regret, the despair feeling like it’s suffocating her.

Whether she regretted provoking Hamlet was unknown, but she certainly regretted getting caught.

Since waking up, Audrey had been trying to escape from there; she could dig through a brick-sealed tomb with a shovel and pickaxe, but without tools, should she use her hands to knock on those walls?

The entire iron door was sealed, not giving her a single gap, not even a lock; it’s completely isolated physically, no matter how great your skills are, they won’t help.

But what was even more unbearable was those people not providing food or drink; no matter what noise she made, no one paid attention to her, and during this time, she had grown weak from hunger.

Audrey had considered that she might end up like those tomb robbers, dying silently in tomb traps, curse poisons, only to die anonymously in some tomb.

But she never imagined that she would be caught for stealing a piece of clothing and then starve to death.

It’s too tragic...

Lying on the bed, hungry and hazy, she didn’t know whether she was about to die or if it was a hallucination; she seemed to hear a sound of the iron door opening, accompanied by voices.

Lance and Grendel opened the door and entered, seeing the person lying on the bed with no reaction, both involuntarily smiled.

Entering the asylum means starving for three days; it’s a rule, equivalent to a deterrent, but also a way to weaken their condition; after all, no one who gets confined here is simple.

The following day, they get a fist-sized black bread, just enough to keep them alive, accompanied by a cup of water.

The last time was the Church duo, but the Mendicant Monk and the Candlelight Priest were ascetic monks, so hunger for a few days was nothing to them.

However, Audrey, not used to hunger, naturally showed more obvious reactions; she hadn’t endured even three days yet, and she was already like this.

"Wake up, it’s time to eat." Lance kicked the bed frame to wake her up.

Generally, three days without water or food isn’t fatal, much less for a Transcendent, more of an anomaly.

Audrey climbed from the bed with difficulty, forcing herself to look at the two who entered, her eyes holding a bit of resentful hostility.

Lance didn’t deceive her, he truly tossed a regular bread over, and at that moment, Audrey seemed to resurrect, grabbing the bread and devouring it quickly.

Only then did she realize the aroma of roasted wheat; she never thought bread could be so delicious, almost bringing her to tears.

But after so long without water, she began to choke after eating a bit. Lance thoughtfully handed over a bottle of water.

"Here, have some water."

Audrey grabbed it and drank it down, finally swallowing the food stuck in her throat, not even glancing at Lance, but instead swiftly swallowing the final mouthful before directing her gaze at the two who entered.

Truth be told, she had never seen the Lord, because when she arrived, Hamlet had already sorted things out, missing those events, so naturally, she couldn’t see the Lord.

And when she was captured and brought before Lance, she was knocked out, then drugged by Amanda and hypnotized by Lance before waking.

So, she truly hadn’t seen the Lord and didn’t recognize Lance.

But Audrey wasn’t foolish; she could sense these two people’s aura was not like ordinary individuals, especially the man with a smile on his face.

Just seeing him made her feel inferior, unable to help but worship, she instinctively wanted to avoid his gaze.

"It seems you don’t recognize me; then why did you steal my clothes to provoke me?"

Lance initiated the conversation, and this sentence made Audrey understand the man before her was the legendary Lord.

If she hadn’t been caught, she would flippantly and arrogantly declare—sister is the queen.

But now, her gaze cleared instantly, regret and shame intertwining on her face, head drooping, looking guilty and admitting fault.

How much of this was genuine emotion and how much was feigned didn’t matter because Lance didn’t believe her at all.

"I know you like adventure, like excitement, don’t you? Now I give you a choice, do you choose to stay here in prison? Or help me with a mission to get a reduced sentence?"
