Parallel World Pharmacy

Chapter 4: 13: The vessel of the soul

One evening a few days have passed since the night the alchemists Hermes and Pharma confronted each other.

"Well, it's time to go to Mr. Pierre's."

"Be careful."

To Lotte and Ellen, Cedric and the others drop him off while he's in the store.

"Ellen and Lotte, go home before dark."

The security of the different world pharmacies has intensified, but after letting Hermes escape, there was concern that they would be attacked by someone. Especially since Ellen commutes on a white horse, not a carriage, Farma cannot rush right away if she is attacked during the period leading up to her return to the Count's house.

"Don't worry, who do you think I am? I'm gonna give it back and I'm gonna ice it."

Ellen strengthens to reassure Pharma. Ellen is pretty good at using water divinity, and a few opponents will crush her, but still, when she becomes Hermes opponent, Pharma is anxious.

"I, too, will return to your mansion early with Mr. Cedric. By the way, is Mr. Pierre okay?

Farma nods vaguely at Lotte's words that guide Pierre.

"It's going to take about two weeks."

Farma leaves the otherworldly pharmacy, which continues to operate as usual, and takes the knight of the offering and in the evening goes out to Pierre, the wood-leaking day pharmacy.

Walk through the gates of the wood leakage day pharmacy and from the back entrance to Pierre's hospital room. Pierre's daughter was waiting for Pharma's visit in front of the gate. I can't believe I've waited a long time.

"Yes, welcome, Master Farma"

"Hello. How's your father?

"Yes, somewhat better"

After that, what happened to Pierre, who had fallen into a sulphuric acid lake as a result of an ambush by a female alchemist... he had quite a serious chemical burn. Farma visits Pierre's store daily and carefully treats burns.

"It's Farma, I'm sorry to bother you"

"Oh, this is Master Pharma. I'm always sorry."

Pierre, who was wearing a pharmacy guild book on his bed while being affixed with wound coverings and exposing himself to pain, gives a face to Pharma's voice. Both his hair and eyebrows were decaying in tears.

Chemical burns are classified from I to III degrees depending on their depth, with I degrees reaching the epidermis and II degrees reaching the dermis, and III degrees extending to the entire dermis. Pierre is between I and II degrees.

Not much time Pierre actually spent soaking in sulphuric acid. Though not taken care of by Pharma's rapid “erasure” of sulphuric acid, sulphuric acid permeated the lower body, such as boots and trousers of the skin, and the hair called whole body hair, partially to the dermis, due to extensive chemical burns on the area where it was worn.

It did not even lead to blindness, but inflammation was also widespread in the eyes and mucous membranes.

Concerned that a systemic inflammatory reaction would occur a day after the injury, Farma transported him to the Medicis family, where he immediately began an infusion to work with Palle for twenty-four hours of treatment.

Fortunately, Pierre's wounds began to heal, just in case and shortly after “saving the original".

Vaseline and wound coverings were used to protect the wound surface after washing the wound, and antimicrobials and adrenocortical steroids were also used as appropriate. In order to reduce the pain, I am also taking medication for pain relief to see how it goes.

That's how a few days went by and the pain seemed to have been reduced by some.

"What do you say, today"

Pharma puts out notes and makes inquiries. Pierre's daughter, who took Pharma to the hospital room, also looked worried alternately at Pharma and Pierre's face in the corner of the room. I'm worried about my father's body.

"Today is a lot better than yesterday. I'm surprised it's not worse than I thought. Is it because you did something with the divine art of the Pharma?"

"Some of that too. Sulfuric acid penetrates the skin and breaks the epidermis, dermal tissue, but it's not that high in concentration and I erased every sulfuric acid, so I guess it was done minimally. For Pierre's own safety, do not show this burn until the wound has healed."

"Surely, Hermes shouldn't notice. Damn it, he wants to kill you... did Master Pharma find out who Hermes is?"

"I know more or less, but I want another certainty. You'll find out tomorrow. Keep the wood leakage day pharmacy open as usual, don't do anything unusual. I'm sending a part-time pharmacist to replace the store number."

If there was an alchemist who burned his whole body with sulphuric acid, Hermes should try to find it and finish it off. It was also dangerous for Pierre to have information outside that he was injured.

"From what, thank you"

Farma went out to the palace the next day.

I was off duty that day as a court pharmacist, but I needed help with someone who was supposed to be in the palace.

The intended person was walking in front of the pharmacist's office and was easily found.

When Pharma confirms the man from a distance, he hides in the shadows without speaking and sees through the examination eye. It confirmed where the cavities were, the skeletons and characteristics and, above all, the voice, and identified the individual.

By this time Pharma had been able to distinguish his opponent remotely using ophthalmological clairvoyance without actually having to meet the target person. I use it conveniently and without diagnosis.

The person is one of the court pharmacists of the Saint-Fluve Empire.

Pharma was staring at court pharmacist Hugo de La Trémoïlle. Like Bruno, he was a court pharmacist with the title of Lord John. He's older than Bruno, but he was a medic who looked younger for his age.

Paired with another woman court pharmacist Françoise, Hugo, Bruno and Pharma's four court pharmacists basically take turns every day to fill the palace, so Hugo doesn't come when Pharma's on duty. If we were to meet face-to-face, it would be to the extent that we would meet at a party hosted by the Empress or at a meeting every few months to decide on the treatment policy of the royal family of court pharmacists and court chiefs.

And Hugo doesn't even belong to Imperial Medical College, only for pride or the royal nobility, so he doesn't even know Ellen who isn't in or out of court. In that alchemy study group, only Pharma sounded familiar to his voice, but neither Ellen, Pierre, nor the alchemists noticed.

Hugo had reduced his duty to examine the Empress from the time when Pharma appeared at the head of the palace and became heavily used as the lead pharmacist by the Empress. Neither Pharma nor I tried to be aggressive. In short, he's one of those pharmacists who supposedly wanted to smoke the presence of Pharma.

(But if Hugo was the killer, why would he use his knowledge of pharmacy and alchemy to make such a small fortune...)

Hugo is a grand aristocrat, so he's not in the economic situation of having to run to a few gold measures.

Incidentally, if Pharma took Hugo's job, the salary paid to court pharmacists from the Empire was a fixed salary, and Hugo also has other royal aristocratic customers of the Empress, and just because Pharma is heavily used by the Empress doesn't mean Hugo's salary is down.

I'm not in trouble for money.

(Then why?

When Pharma is devising,

"Oh, Master Pharma. What are you doing? Take a look at the pattern on the wall…"

By chance Salomon walked through the hallway, snapping against the wall and finding Pharma staring at the wall with a serious face.

"Oh, no, this isn't it,"

"Did you count the plaid pattern on the wall? I'm sorry, you're tired..."

Pharma, seen with a gaze at the poor man, told Salomon that he had found a clue to the existence of Lake Sulfate and the Holy Springs in order to solve the misunderstanding.

"It's a great harvest to get information about the Holy Springs from one thing or another. It's a pleasure. The search party seems to be struggling, too. Farma and Holy Springs must be attracted to each other."

"Is that so? I'll report any clues to Your Majesty."

You are not giving out the information you need and the search party must not act empty. And, Farma cares.

"The fact that there was a sign to the Holy Springs at the bottom of the acid lake protected by the strange fish must have meant that the tablet was awaiting the visit of someone like Pharma"

Salomon, no longer a priest to whom the temple belonged, but he was still excited about his faith in the patron saint. If we have to carve a new page in the Bible again, it seems to be burning with a sense of purpose.

Speaking of which, something strange happened.

Pharma asked Salomon.

"What"

"On the crystal layer or crystal stone at the bottom of the lake, there was light coming out of a freshman who had just died, and it looked like the light had been swallowed."

Um, Farma wanted to ask Salomon what the creepy phenomenon was that only seemed to have been sucked on her soul.

"Well... I wonder what that means. Minerals that serve as raw materials for treasure have such properties…. In addition to that, the tablet said that the dwelling place of the wandering soul..."

Salomon looked difficult and put on his arms, gazing at him as he jerked off his beard.

"By the way, did you get the crystal and crystal stone to sleep at the bottom of Lake Sulfate?

"Yes, I took it the next day"

Pharma was thinking of creating a new wand with scraped crystals and crystals from the bottom of Lake Sulphate. Because the Pharmaceutical Staff will have to be returned to the Great Temple soon.

While processing that crystalline stone, I realized it was even more puzzling. Every time I scrape or break it, I hear something like a phantom. That didn't even sound like people's voices.

"It's no wonder that what constitutes the raw material of treasure has taken human life. The dead were not brought into the crystal stone."

"What!?

Was the treasure such a dangerous substitute, Farma gets scared to have a drug scepter, as she is now. I just thought the drug scepter was a scepter made to help people, by someone called the drug god of my predecessors. Knowing that, one concern struck my head.

"Maybe you mean people die somewhere just because I used a drug scepter to help people?

The soul of the man was sucked by other treasures… Pharma thought too much of the agitation.

"That's a difficult question. I don't know the reason...... big picture of history, some patron saints helped people like you, and vice versa, some patron saints just used treasures to take many lives. The patron saint is destined to be intelligent, not on the side of man, not the enemy."

"No... what am I supposed to do"

(Are you saying that the existence of a patron saint balances the life and death of people in this world in total...)

What I've done is wrong, and everything will be pointless.

Thinking of it that way, Pharma is about to collapse from his feet. I saw it. Salomon forgives Pharma.

"Yes, you'll be discouraged. What you've done is never meaningless, and there's no such thing as killing people on a drug scepter."

Pharma thought about it a lot. And while I was discussing the relationship between Crystal and the memory of the dead, I felt like I had found the answer to an issue.

"No way......"

My spine creaked.

"Could Homncrus have... Was it"

There was precisely, the darkness of alchemy condensed.
