Peaceful Farm Life

After the Imperial Physician left, Taoming Ye once again held Su Xing’s hand.

Their feelings of excitement and happiness had not yet settled down; just thinking about it made them feel so joyful.

They have a child.

Though still inside her belly.

"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Taoming Ye asked worriedly. Although the Imperial Physician and doctor said that pregnancy nausea is normal, he was still very concerned. He had never seen his darling wife’s face look so pale before.

Su Xing smiled and said, "I don’t feel uncomfortable anymore. I guess I just couldn’t stand the smell of the fish earlier, that’s why I reacted like that."

Taoming Ye immediately said, "Then no more fish from now on."

Su Xing replied, "But I quite like eating fish."

"Then I’ll have the cook prepare the fish without any fishy smell, maybe then you won’t feel nauseous."

"That’s a good idea~" she said, smiling brightly, "Husband, do you want to touch?"

Taoming Ye’s eyes lit up immediately, "Can I?"

"Of course you can! It’s not someone else’s belly; it’s your wife’s belly. Go ahead and touch it. Just don’t press too hard, but even if I don’t say it, you’d know that."

"Mm." Taoming Ye responded warmly, feeling both anxious and excited as he gently placed his hand on Su Xing’s still-flat belly. Inside, there was their child.

Thinking of this, his heart became tender.

"Husband, are you happy?" Seeing Taoming Ye carefully and gratefully touching her belly, Su Xing asked him.

Taoming Ye nodded, "Happy." Not to mention that his wife had been hoping for a child, he had been looking forward to it too. Now that they finally have one, he’s of course happy and joyful.

Su Xing immediately laughed, "I’m also very happy." Pausing, "I used to envy others being pregnant, and now I don’t have to envy anyone anymore; I’m pregnant too."

Taoming Ye did not dampen the mood by saying it was due to his poor health that she could only conceive now. He simply said, "Our days are getting better and better."

"Mm-hmm." Su Xing nodded in agreement. If she hadn’t had a child, she would have felt a bit regretful, but now she has one, and after the child is born, she would have no regrets at all.

"Husband!" Suddenly, Su Xing excitedly grasped Taoming Ye’s hand. "After the child is born, your poison will surely be cured by then. Just thinking of it makes me happy. I really wish that day would come in the blink of an eye."

Taoming Ye also felt happy just thinking about it, but he said, "Pregnancy takes ten months, it can’t happen in the blink of an eye." He sighed with heartache, "Pregnancy is very hard, you might not feel it much now, but when your belly gets bigger, you won’t feel as relaxed as now."

"It’s okay, it’s okay." She reassured him immediately. "As long as I can give birth to the child, it’s worth all the hardship. You know how much I want to have a child of ours. Now that we finally have one, no amount of hard work matters."

Taoming Ye felt both pained and moved: "Then it’s hard on you."

"Not hard, not hard, husband, your health is improving day by day, so you should be the one taking care of me in the future; it’s your hard work."

Taoming Ye laughed: "Only you would cherish me to think I work hard. What hard work have I done? Taking care of you is my duty, you’ve been taking care of me since you married me, should I then say it’s hard on you? If I say this, you’d surely get upset with me. So, don’t say it’s hard work for me to take care of you."

"Alright then, it’s all duty. I just love that my darling husband takes care of me, is this acceptable?"
