Chapter 793 - 754: The Green Water Monster
Upon hearing that the green creature was about to burst out of the deep pool, the assistant panicked. He quickly found a rock to hide behind and shouted, "Zhao Rong, Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian! All of you, find a place to hide like me! Hurry! If that green creature catches you and drags you into the pool, you’ll be dead for sure!"
Hearing the assistant’s warning, the three women glanced at him cowering behind the rock before turning their gazes to a dark shadow in the corner of the pool. Lili saw it clearly. Something that looked very much like a plesiosaur was slowly surfacing. She gasped, her eyes widening in alarm. "Oh my god," she said, her voice shaky. "If I’m not mistaken, that’s the Loch Ness Monster! They look incredibly similar..."
Yu Lan, who had once visited Kanas Lake in Xinjiang, knew what its legendary monster looked like. She stared intently at the green creature and exclaimed in shock, "My goodness! If I’m not mistaken, that thing looks exactly like the Kanas Lake Monster!"
Just as Yu Lan made her claim, Xuelian stepped forward. Her mind flashed back to the time she and Zhao Rong had seen a creature in Heaven Pool while picking Heaven Pool Yu Lan flowers. As she compared that memory to the creature before her, she said, "If I’m judging this correctly, this creature looks exactly like the one I saw in Heaven Pool. They’re practically identical."
When the assistant, still hiding under the rock, heard three different answers from the three women, he was utterly confused. He peeked his head out and looked at Zhao Rong, who was standing motionless beside the deep pool. "Zhao Rong, you have to help us figure this out! Is it the Kanas Lake Monster, the Heaven Pool Monster, or the Loch Ness Monster?"
In stark contrast to the assistant’s cowardice and the women’s panic, Zhao Rong stood by the pool, the very picture of calm. With an unchanging expression and a steady heart, he carefully observed the green creature as it slowly rose from the depths. "I don’t think it’s the Loch Ness Monster," he said composedly. "The Loch Ness Monster is said to look a lot like a plesiosaur, with a long, slender neck. But this creature doesn’t have a long neck at all. Look closely."
Hearing Zhao Rong rule out her theory, Yu Lan immediately stepped forward. "Zhao Rong, if it isn’t the Loch Ness Monster, then it must be the Kanas Lake Monster!"
Zhao Rong shook his head again. "The so-called Kanas Lake Monster is actually just an incredibly large fish. But this creature in front of us has no fish-like features at all. It has no scales, no gills, not even a fish’s head or tail. It doesn’t have fins, either. So, I can say with absolute certainty that this is not the Kanas Lake Monster."
At this, Xuelian stepped forward and said with conviction, "Zhao Rong, since this monster is neither the one from Loch Ness nor Kanas Lake, then it must be the Heaven Pool Monster, right?"
However, Zhao Rong still shook his head, relying on his own judgment. "I don’t think it’s the Heaven Pool Monster, either. The creature in Heaven Pool is massive—as big as a yacht. This green monster is obviously not that large. So, I’m quite certain it’s not the Heaven Pool Monster."
When the assistant heard Zhao Rong reject all three of their theories, he scrambled out from behind the rock to offer his own opinion. "Zhao Rong, based on my judgment, I think this monster must be some kind of prehistoric super-beast..."
Before he could finish, the green monster, which had been about to surface, suddenly sank rapidly and vanished from sight.
Zhao Rong, however, had already reached a conclusion after his careful observation. He turned to the others with an air of complete confidence. "Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, Assistant... this monster is from when the Earth first began to form, 4.6 billion years ago, when life began to evolve. It’s a type of creature that lives deep within the planet’s core."
He continued, "As for what it’s called, I can’t give you an answer right now. The only way to find out is to put on special protective gear, dive into this pool, and capture it. Only then can we see its true form and determine what kind of creature it really is."
When the three women heard that Zhao Rong intended to put on a diving suit and enter the terrifyingly deep pool, they immediately shook their heads in protest. "Zhao Rong, have you lost your mind? If you risk diving in there, you’ll either be eaten by that green monster or killed by the toxins in the water! Either way is a death sentence. We shouldn’t go down there!"
Lili stood in front of Zhao Rong, blocking his path. "Zhao Rong, you can’t dive into that pool. Safety comes first!"
Yu Lan hugged him from behind, trying to hold him back. "Zhao Rong, I’m so worried. If you go down into that deep pool, we might never see you again."
Xuelian was even more determined, hugging Zhao Rong’s leg to keep him from entering the water. "Zhao Rong, without a submarine, we absolutely cannot allow anyone to go down there in just a diving suit! That’s just playing with your life! You only live once. We must live it as brilliantly as a flower; otherwise, it would be a life lived in vain."
