Chapter 789 - 750: Vacuum Cover
When the three women and the assistant heard Zhao Rong’s plan to blow up the massive, terrifying hospital before them, they clapped their hands in delight.
"Zhao Rong, we’ve finally succeeded in eliminating all the zombies, villains, magical beasts, and ghosts from this terrifying hospital!" one of them exclaimed. "Now we just need to complete the final step and blow it up. Then our mission will be complete! Plus, destroying this eerie hospital will restore a safe living environment for the town’s residents."
Lili looked at the small package in Zhao Rong’s hand. Curious about its contents, she asked, "Zhao Rong, what did you buy from the Paradise Shopping Cart? It isn’t black gunpowder, is it?"
Yu Lan stepped forward and shook her head. "Lili, you’re underestimating Zhao Rong," she said. "Why would he buy something like black gunpowder from the Paradise Shopping Cart to blow up this hospital? That would be too much effort. I bet he bought a high-tech bomb—something very small, but capable of destroying this hospital with absolute precision, leaving no hiding spots for any monsters still lurking inside."
Xuelian gave a sly smile, then walked up to Zhao Rong and whispered, "Zhao Rong, did you buy a portable, miniature atomic bomb from the Paradise Shopping Cart to blow up this eerie hospital? Only a nuclear weapon could flatten this place and kill all the monsters inside with radiation."
Listening to the three women, Zhao Rong shook his head and played coy. "Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian... you’re all very smart, but you’ve all guessed wrong. To be honest, if I were going to destroy this hospital, I wouldn’t buy bombs, atomic bombs, or any other kind of explosive from the Paradise Shopping Cart to do it."
When the three women heard they were all wrong, they furrowed their brows. "Zhao Rong, if you’re not going to use a bomb, then what did you buy to flatten this hospital?"
Before the women could finish, the assistant stepped forward with a presumptuous air and thumped his chest. "Zhao Rong, compared to Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian, my IQ is clearly superior. It’s a classic case of them being long on hair but short on wit. I, on the other hand, am naturally bald... which obviously makes me exceptionally intelligent! I think you bought something from the Paradise Shopping Cart that can cause a tsunami or an earthquake. Then you can use that raw physical force to wipe this hospital off the map!"
The assistant finished, brimming with confidence that he had correctly guessed the nature of the weapon Zhao Rong had bought. However, he was not prepared for the bead of cold sweat that trickled down Zhao Rong’s forehead. Zhao Rong looked at him and said, "Assistant, your imagination is running a little too wild. It’s straying a bit far from reality."
Hearing he was still wrong, the assistant asked defiantly, "Well then, Zhao Rong, what kind of weapon *did* you buy to flatten this hospital?"
While opening the package, Zhao Rong smiled at the three women and the assistant and said, "A Vacuum Cover."
The three women and the assistant froze. "A Vacuum Cover?" they repeated, confused. "Zhao Rong, what’s a Vacuum Cover? Hurry up and take it out of the package so we can see it and be amazed!"
Zhao Rong finished opening the package and pulled out a simple-looking plastic bag. "See?" he said. "This is the cutting-edge, high-tech weapon I bought from the Paradise Shopping Cart: the Vacuum Cover."
When the others saw the very ordinary, flimsy, and shabby-looking plastic bag in his hand, they were completely baffled. "Zhao Rong, you have to be joking! We’re waiting for you to demolish this eerie hospital, and you bought a plastic bag from the Paradise Shopping Cart? Is this thing supposed to explode and flatten the building?"
Lili took the bag and shook it. "This just looks like a shopping bag a store gives you—and a really cheap one, at that. Why are you calling it a Vacuum Cover?"
Yu Lan couldn’t connect the cheap plastic bag with the concept of a vacuum at all. "Zhao Rong," she asked, "even if you want to create a vacuum to destroy this hospital... how could a simple bag like this possibly work? It can’t seal properly, let alone suck all the air out. How could it create a vacuum?"
Xuelian was completely baffled. "Zhao Rong, we’re supposed to be destroying the hospital... why are you trying to put it in a vacuum? Is it going to explode in a vacuum or something?"
The assistant was also perplexed. "Zhao Rong, don’t objects just remain static in a vacuum? Your theory about using a vacuum to destroy this eerie hospital doesn’t seem sound."
However, just as they were all expressing their doubts, Zhao Rong tossed the bag into the air. Instantly, the ordinary-looking plastic bag began to expand, growing larger and larger until it started to envelop the entire eerie hospital.
As the women watched the plastic bag grow to an immense size and completely enclose the hospital, they finally understood how Zhao Rong planned to use the vacuum. This was no ordinary plastic bag. It was some kind of mysterious, high-tech device that could expand infinitely, create a perfect seal, and then suck out all the air from within.
Once the bag had formed a perfect, seamless shell around the hospital, it began to automatically pump out the air from inside. As the three women felt the air around them thin and their breathing grow difficult, they asked Zhao Rong nervously, "Zhao Rong, if it keeps sucking the air out at this rate, won’t everyone inside this vacuum die?"
