Chapter 783 - 744: Gamma Rays
When Lili saw Zhao Rong using a flamethrower on zombies that were completely immune to fire, she was skeptical.
"Zhao Rong," she said, "I just warned you... I told you these zombies aren’t afraid of fire, but you wouldn’t listen. Using a flamethrower against them is useless..."
The zombies mocked him as well. "You human, you’re just a stubborn fool. We already told you we aren’t afraid of your flamethrower, but you insisted on trying anyway. Now, we’ll show you that we zombies speak the truth..."
However, to the astonishment of both Lili and the zombies, Zhao Rong aimed the crude, flimsy-looking flamethrower at the surrounding circle of undead and unleashed a wild torrent of flame, instantly incinerating them into ash, leaving no trace behind.
Staring at the scene before her, Lili asked in disbelief, "Zhao Rong, what did you do? How did you kill these fire-resistant zombies with an ordinary flamethrower?"
Zhao Rong extinguished the weapon and explained with a smile, "Lili, you might not be aware, but this isn’t an ordinary flamethrower. It’s a special polyethylene model. It has an incredibly high heat point and even generates gamma rays. That’s why it was able to kill these fire-resistant zombies instantly."
Realization dawned on Lili’s face. "Zhao Rong, you’re brilliant," she said, impressed. "You completely tricked those idiotic zombies..."
Zhao Rong laughed. "If I hadn’t put on a little show for them, do you think they would have just stood there and let me burn them?"
Lili gave him a thumbs-up. "That was brilliant, absolutely brilliant! If you had told them you were using a polyethylene flamethrower, they would have scattered and hidden immediately. You never would have wiped them all out so easily. But you put on an act, tricking them into thinking you had an ordinary weapon. That’s why those idiots just stood there and let you roast them. They never imagined they’d be vaporized by a high-tech, polyethylene flamethrower. Zhao Rong, you’re amazing. You’ve made me see you in a completely new light."
Zhao Rong just smiled humbly. "So, Lili, I’m giving you this portable, miniature flamethrower. Just aim it at any zombies you see and let loose. Any zombie in this inpatient department is nothing but trash when faced with this weapon."
With that, he handed the polyethylene flamethrower to Lili.
After taking the weapon, she patted her chest confidently. "Zhao Rong, with this in my hands, I can sweep through the entire hospital! No matter what kind of zombie shows up, I can eliminate it!"
Just then, the alarm in Zhao Rong’s hand went off again. He checked it and then spoke urgently to Lili. "Lili, you continue the fight here. I have to go rescue Yu Lan now."
Hearing that Yu Lan needed rescuing, Lili grew tense. "Zhao Rong, what’s wrong? Is Yu Lan in danger?"
While checking Yu Lan’s position on his device, Zhao Rong shook his head. "I only know that she’s somewhere in the outpatient department. As for what kind of danger she’s in, I have no idea. I’m going to use my GPRS locator and teleporter to get to her right now."
With that, Zhao Rong teleported away.
When he arrived at the outpatient department, he immediately saw several enormous European zombies. They had cornered Yu Lan against a wall, leaving her with nowhere to escape.
When Yu Lan saw Zhao Rong appear, she was so moved that tears streamed down her face. "Zhao Rong!" she cried out. "I knew you would come for me! But I never imagined you’d get here so fast!"
When the two giant European zombies heard her claim that someone had come to the rescue, they scoffed. "Give it up, beautiful. The idea that someone could rescue you in a place like this is a joke."
"Are you trying to distract us so you can run away, little lady?" the other jeered. "Is that why you’re making up lies about being saved? No one is coming for you. We two are the largest, strongest, and most powerful zombies in this entire twisted hospital, with boundless Mana. So, just prepare to die. There is no escape for you, only a dead end."
However, before the zombies could finish their tirade, Zhao Rong charged forward, leaped into the air, and sent them flying with a kick. They crashed hard against the wall before slumping to the ground.
As the two zombies staggered back to their feet, they demanded in shock, "What the hell? Who just kicked us into the air?"
When they turned and saw Zhao Rong, they were stunned into silence. Staring at him in disbelief, one of them asked, "Where did a human like you pop out from?"
Seeing Zhao Rong’s slender frame, the two European zombies began to laugh at him. "A scrawny human like you dares to attempt a rescue? I’m afraid you’re not only going to fail but also lose your own life in the process."
"You think that flimsy body of yours can stand against the two of us?" the other sneered. "We’re going to crush you together!"
Faced with their mockery, Zhao Rong didn’t fight back. Instead, he feigned terror. "Please, you two zombie lords, have mercy! Don’t kill this beautiful lady, and please don’t kill me! I’m truly weak, completely helpless!"
Seeing Zhao Rong act so timid, the two European zombies roared with laughter. "We European zombies love to prey on the weak. We especially enjoy tormenting frail little Chinese people like you. What are you going to do about it?"
