I glanced at my system screen and read through my stats with a pleased expression on my face.

From the inbox, my mother and the instructor both had fire affinity which had merged to increase the rank of my fire affinity.

I had received spatial element control from instructor Calista, and Ivory, along with my mother, had granted me light element control.

It came as a surprise to me to know that my mother possessed light element as well.

She was known as the empress of destruction because of how terrifying her flames were, but who would have guessed that she had the ability to control light as well?

I guessed internally that it was likely her trump card, which made it understandable why she never revealed it to the public.

I read through the information one final time. I still didn’t know the use of the corruption points, but they kept on accumulating.

’Perhaps when I gather up to one thousand something would happen. Would the system upgrade?’ I wondered internally as the car gradually drove to a stop.

I paid the fare and stepped down from the vehicle.

With light steps, I reached the door to our home and stretched my hand to push the door open.

My mother never locked the door whenever I wasn’t home since she wasn’t scared of anything.

With a light push, the door opened and I stepped inside.

I immediately spotted my mother seated on the couch with a calm expression on her face, casually reading through her tablet as always.

"You finally recalled you had a home to come to didn’t you?" She didn’t remove her gaze from the tablet as she echoed calmly.

"Mom..." I called her name affectionately and hugged her, giving her a light kiss on her long, silk hair.

I felt my mother’s body instinctively stiffen at the gesture but she still remained calm as usual.

"You didn’t inform me that you were going to spend the night out." She echoed.

"Sorry mom." I thought of a lie but nothing came to mind, "things just happened that way."

"Mmm." Evelyn replied calmly and fell silent as an image flashed through her mind.

It was the image of her son with another woman, naked and spent. She waved it off the moment it sprang into her mind, but it still didn’t fade completely.

"Breakfast is in the dining, eat it before it gets cold." She said slowly, "I’m a little busy at the moment, I’ll entertain you later." She finished speaking and returned her complete attention back to the tablet in front of her.

"Okay, thanks mom." I replied too quickly and rushed to the dining to have my meal.

After the intense sex with May this morning, I hadn’t had anything to eat. I was completely famished.

In the dining, I noticed a plate with eggs, bacon, bread and other light foodstuffs on the table. A faint steam still drifted from its surface, a clear sign that she had just prepared the meal minutes earlier.

"Watch him, and ensure he stays safe. I’m occupied at the moment." Evelyn muttered to the air beside her and it rippled faintly.

Although no one spoke, she knew that her right hand woman had already heeded her command and vanished to obey the order.

I closed the door behind me as I stepped out.

As I strolled and the music boomed loudly in my ears, I thought about my next course of actions.

The increase in the rank of my fire affinity, along with the fact that I’d obtained space element control, opened a new path for me.

I thought about it, and recalled I’d heard about a few awakened.

Since it wasn’t just my mother’s academy in the city, there were other geniuses from other academies.

Perhaps I could make other ladies candidates and obtain rare abilities from them. If they were similar they would make me stronger.

It opened a new path of strength for me.
