Chapter 116: Games, conflict...
"Did you hear that?" Avery’s eyes were sharp and alert as she said softly to Jane and Evelyn, who stared at her in confusion, wondering what she was talking about.
"I think I hear something..." she muttered once more, and placed her hand on her lips, wanting to hear a little better.
She listened closely and figured the sound was coming from the garden.
"I think there’s someone at the garden." Avery knitted her brows together and finally said causing the two ladies to stare at her with a dumbfounded look.
Both Jane and her mom exchanged glances, clearly seeing the doubt in each other’s eyes, but they still felt curious about Avery’s words.
Avery had already began walking out, wondering who was at the garden.
Jane and Evelyn exchanged once last glance before placing the things they purchased on the ground and following along.
It took a barely above a minute for the girls to reach the garden.
The moment they arrived, they couldnt help but widen their eyes, taken aback by the sight they saw in front of them.
It left them speechless.
Infront of then, lucien had a charming smile on his face as he chatted lightly with Sophie, while their attention was fixed on watering the plants and trimming the flowers.
It painted the sight of a pair of beautiful lovers that had emerged from the heavens.
Sophie’s slender, petite frame, coupled with my lean but faintly muscular build, painted us as the perfect couple.
"What are you guys doing?" Jane swallowed, and she felt a little discomfort in her heart seeing her father being so affectionate with her little sister.
She felt something twist a little in her chest seeing how close they were, and how beautiful they looked together, but she tried to swallow whatever emotions were filling her mind.
Evelyn was also surprised, but she seemed to take it more calmly.
"Mom!" Sophie called out with a smile, but something in her eyes shifted a little which she quickly hid.
"Dad and I were gardening..." she explained softly as she walked over to her mom and gave her a light hug.
Evelyn patted her daughter’s hair and glanced at the flowers with a smile on her face.
"That’s nice of you."
Her gaze couldnt help but linger a little too long on lucien.
He looked completely different. More distant, as though he was untouched by the mortal realm.
Even though he stood so close to them, with a friendly smile on his face, subconsciously, there seemed to be a distance between them.
It wasnt just Evelyn that felt this way. Both Jane and Avery had long since noticed how strange lucien looked.
They were lost, staring in a daze at how handsome he had begun.

Seeing such a reaction on her sisters and mother, Sophie giggled internally.
She was pleased that she wasnt the only one to have such a reaction.
Eventually the women recovered themselves as soon as I spoke.
"How was your... outing?" I glanced at their hands where they held nothing and figured that they’d likely dropped everything inside before coming out to check on us.
"It was lovely bonding with my daughters," Evelyn walked up to me and wrapped her slender hands around my shoulders, giving me a hug, "I missed you too,"
Her voice held an edge which seemed to alert me of the fact that I hadn’t asked about her welfare first despite leaving so early in the morning without telling her.
As we seperated from the hug, I held her chin ever so slightly and with just a little effort, I pulled her face close to mine and pressed my lips against hers.
"I missed you." I muttered softly against her face.
Evelyn’s face was turning flushed at a speed visible to the naked eyes.
From the calm, milky color her face was, it gradually began pink, until it was flushed completely with her embarassment.
"I... you... that..." she tried to speak but feeling the weight of her daughters’ stared she found herself lost for words.
Sophie’s eyes showed a mixture of shock, and also a little realization.
She was quick to accept things, after all I and her mom were supposedly married.
However, Jane was unlike her, and her lips twitched a little as she glanced at the sight where her mother and father’s lips connected with each other.
She wanted to be there, inn her mother’s place, being the one kissed in public.
She didnt like the fact that they had to hide their relationship.
Avery on the other hand, appeared relatively calm.
Her face was neutral, and no one could tell what was going on in her mind or whether she was affected by the situation in the slightest.
"It’s alright mom, you dont have to say anything, we understand." She folded her arms as she said softly, however no expression still appeared on her face.
I gave her a brief glance.
Thinking about it, it’s been a while since I’d been intimate with her.
"I’d... leave you two to it while we go and prepare something for lunch, okay?" evelyn had taken a day off for the weekend, to spend time with her family, so she had all the time in the world.
She finally seemed to regain her voice and words, and informed us of their departure, before dragging her two daughter away.
Her heart was beating excitedly and she felt like a little girl seeing her crush for the first time once again.
The kiss still lingered on her lips, and it kept on replaying in her mind consistently.
’I need to reward him tonight for such an act...’ she muttered to herself internally.
Her, along with the two girls entered into the house, leaving Sophie and I behind.
Sophie felt her tensed shoulders relax the moment all three had vanished from her line of sight.
She could now feel the cool air brushing against her moist thighs that were drenched in her love juices.
She couldnt help but stare at me with something warm in her eyes, wondering whether we’d continue from where we left off.
