An emergency meeting is being held in the royal palace’s conference room.

Given the gravity of the situation, the king himself is presiding over the meeting.

The chief minister was the first to report some very concerning news: "Ladies and gentlemen, just two hours ago, one of the kingdom’s symbols, Mount Taifu, showed signs of volcanic activity.

"The geologists responsible for monitoring the volcano strongly suspect that Mount Taifu, which has been dormant for over three hundred years, is likely to have an unprecedented violent eruption soon.

"If this happens, the entire Capital Pingjing City may be doomed."

The minister paused for a moment, his tone turning somber: "In the last hour, hundreds of earthquakes have occurred worldwide, including three that were above level seven and over sixty above level five. Madaga Island in Yan Continent is also about to face a tsunami impact.

"Our kingdom’s geological experts strongly suspect that the surrounding seas will experience at least one mega earthquake above level nine, possibly more.

"When that time comes, the kingdom will suffer from a terrifying tsunami impact just like Madaga Island, and we cannot predict how many citizens will perish."

The chief minister paused again and mentioned the most severe consequence: "There is a possibility that the kingdom could perish."

The king, upon hearing this, shifted uneasily and asked, "Gentlemen, you are all important officials of the kingdom. Do you have any good suggestions?"

No one spoke.

Because this is a formidable natural disaster, the kingdom does not have the strength to stop the volcanic eruption nor to withstand the tsunami sweeping through the nation, especially as it is an island country surrounded by sea.

After quite a while.

A bald-headed minister cautiously suggested, "Perhaps we could request aid from our neighbors to the east."

This proposal brought a chorus of agreement.

"I concur!"

"Great Xia is the most powerful country in human history; they should have the ability to help the kingdom."

The chief minister interjected, "Gentlemen, it is best not to hold too much hope. Although the Carmenia Federation has declined, the kingdom has a historical enmity with Great Xia, which has always exhibited indifference toward the kingdom. They are very unlikely to assist."

Immediately a voice argued, "As long as we maintain a humble attitude in front of the Great Xia people, elevate them highly and praise them as the savior of Canglan Star, they should not refuse."

The chief minister answered his own question: "It’s not that Great Xia lacks the capability to predict, rather they knew all along. Otherwise, the Great Xia people wouldn’t be building so many dams along their coastal areas.

"The reason Great Xia is unwilling to alert the world beforehand, in my opinion, is partly targeted against the kingdom because they do not wish to see the kingdom receive advance warnings to prepare for the disaster."

The chief minister concluded, "Great Xia holds very deep hostility toward the kingdom, so even if we request aid from Eastern Giant Dragon, they will surely find an excuse to refuse.

"Great Xia people are shrewd and adept at scheming; they always like to achieve maximum results with minimal costs.

"Had it not been for the natural disaster, they might have launched a war, but now that the disaster is taking care of matters, they’re more than happy to see the kingdom collapse in tragedy."

The conference room fell silent again.

Some were unconvinced, while others showed agreement with the statement.

Another minister spoke, "Last time during the snow disaster, Great Xia offered paid rescue to world countries; perhaps if we provide enough compensation, the Great Xia people might be willing to aid us."

The chief minister intended to reject the proposal but, noticing His Majesty King’s expression, ultimately said nothing.

Because he couldn’t come up with a better suggestion, if he only continued to reject without providing constructive ideas, he would surely arouse His Majesty’s displeasure.

The king quickly made the decision, "Let’s proceed with this plan."
