{Introduction: Mew left the Tree of Beginning out of boredom and now wanders the world, observing everything around it and searching for anything that catches its interest. At the moment, it appears to be interested in... attending school?}

Mike: "..."

He stared at the words that had appeared before him, then glanced at the student sitting in the back row and covering his mouth to hide his laughter.

"..."

Mike rubbed his eyes.

When he looked again, the information was still there!

Curious, Mike opened Mew’s collapsed move list.

The moment he did, nearly every Pokémon move in existence appeared before his eyes.

There were so many that his vision practically blurred!

Mike quickly closed the Pokédex and scratched his head.

So Mew really planned to spend its time pretending to be a student?

To put it more simply, it had come here to sit in on his class?

"Teacher Mike, is something wrong?"

Mike could only suppress his curiosity and continue teaching seriously.

...

Once class ended, Mike planned to find the student Mew had transformed into and speak with it.

However, a large group of students immediately surrounded him and began asking for advice about Pokémon battles.

With no other choice, he spent some time answering their questions.

Even after the bell rang, the students continued crowding around him without any intention of leaving.

Mike looked at them curiously.

"Don’t you need to attend your other classes?"

Yuka blinked.

"Huh? Teacher, your class is the only one we have this week..."

"We already completed all our other courses. We were originally supposed to leave on our journeys this week..."

Mike turned toward Natsuko.

Natsuko avoided his gaze and lowered her head to stare at the tips of her shoes.

Fortunately, she really could see them.

By the time the other students finally left, only Mike and Mew remained in the classroom.

Mike walked over to the disguised Mew and looked curiously at the "student" before him.

Mew raised its head.

Although it still looked like a human girl, its expression became visibly flustered.

"You... How did you discover me?"

The moment Mew finished speaking, it covered its mouth.

’Oh no. I exposed myself...’

Hearing Mew’s cry beneath the human voice, Mike smiled.

"Do you want to know how?"

Mew nodded.

"I counted the students in the class again. There was exactly one person too many—you."

Mew tilted its head.

’Was that really it?’

"Mew~"

"So.. why did you transform into a human and come to this school?"

[Because it looked fun~]

Mew answered with an innocent expression.

Mike stared at it in disbelief.

"You..."

Because it looked fun?

That was all?

Mike looked at the human form Mew had taken and found it hard to believe.

No wonder the Pokédex said it had left the Tree of Beginning out of boredom and begun wandering around the world.

Mike had originally thought Mew had come to the school for some important reason...

"Gar?"

Gengar floated over and curiously studied Mew.

For some reason, he felt an unusually familiar presence coming from this student.

Before Gengar could make sense of it, the student’s body suddenly changed as another Gengar appeared in front of him.

"Gar... Gar..."

[I... It turned into me... it’s a ghost!]

Gengar stared at the copy with an expression that suggested he had seen a ghost.

Though technically, there was nothing strange about a Ghost-type seeing a ghost.

"Don’t suddenly transform into Gengar!"

Mike hurriedly pushed the transformed Mew behind a tree and lowered his voice.

"Gar?"

[Why?]

The imitation Gengar looked at Mike curiously.

"Because humans can’t normally transform into Pokémon. If someone sees you like this, you’ll cause a panic," Mike quietly explained.

The fake Gengar covered its mouth and giggled.

Its body changed again, becoming a small, soft-looking pink Pokémon with a long tail drifting freely behind it.

Mew covered its mouth with its tiny pink paws, its large blue eyes curved with amusement as it giggled at Mike.

’So this is what it really looks like?’

Gengar curiously examined Mew.

"Mew~"

[Hello~]

Mew greeted him.

"Gar—"

Gengar stared blankly at Mew.

Looking at Mew in its true form, Mike couldn’t stop himself from reaching out to stroke its head.

Mew was simply too adorable and.... pink!

Its body flashed, and it appeared above Mike’s head, easily avoiding his hand before continuing to cover its mouth and giggle.

Mike withdrew his hand and looked up at it.

"Mew, you—"

"Teacher Mike."

Natsuko’s voice came from nearby.

Mike looked toward Mew and saw its body gradually become transparent.

By the time Natsuko reached him, Mew had completely disappeared.

"What is it, Ms. Natsuko?" Mike asked.

"Well, Teacher Mike, I spoke with the principal just now. In addition to teaching the wilderness emergency course, the school would like to hire you to teach the students battle classes for the rest of the week. Would that be possible?"

"Of course that wouldn’t—"

"We plan to increase your payment by fifty percent on top of what you’re already receiving for the wilderness emergency course."

"Of course there’s no reason it wouldn’t be possible."

Mike nodded solemnly.

"You should know that I’ve become quite fond of those students."

"In that case, I’ll prepare the contract now. You remember how to leave the school, don’t you?"

"I memorized the route while you were showing me around this morning."

"Good. I’ll go prepare the contract. I’ll send you the electronic version tonight, and if there are no problems, we can sign it tomorrow."

"Go ahead."

Natsuko nodded and turned to leave.

Once she was gone, Mike looked around and quietly called out, "Are you still here?"

There was no response even after he waited for a while.

Mike sighed regretfully.

What a shame.

He hadn’t managed to take a photograph of Mew!

According to legend, Mew was the ancestor of all Pokémon and carried the genes of every Pokémon within its body.

No wonder it could learn so many different moves.

What a waste...

If he had known he would encounter Mew while teaching today, he would have brought his camera.

Mike deeply regretted missing the chance to photograph it.

Still, at least he had seen Mew with his own eyes.

Mike turned and began walking toward the school exit.

But suddenly, he felt something settle on his shoulder.

When he turned his head, he could faintly make out the shape of a small catlike Pokémon covering its mouth and giggling.

A smile appeared on Mike’s face.

He lowered his voice.

"Mew, would you like to come eat with us?"

"Mew~"
