The video continued playing.

At the summit of Mount Coronet.

The rift had nearly doubled in size over the past several weeks. Tiny points of light constantly sprayed from its edges, as though something inside were tearing the wound farther open.

Asher stood on a rocky platform directly beneath the rift. His left hand was tucked into his pocket, while his right maintained the transparent barrier. Despite everything, he still appeared relatively relaxed.

"The expansion rate is 1.3 times what it was last week."

Asher glanced down at the system panel embedded in his wrist.

"At this rate, the rift will reach the outer boundary of the League’s restricted zone within twenty days at most."

Dragonite released a low growl.

"Right. I think something is wrong too."

Asher closed the panel.

"After I forced Giratina back last time, it should have remained quiet for at least a month. Recovering this quickly shouldn’t have been possible unless someone was helping it."

He paused and turned toward the darkness behind him.

The mountain wind swept past his body, sending several loose stones rolling over the cliff.

"Stop hiding and come out."

Asher’s tone remained casual.

"You’ve been crouching down there for almost an hour. Aren’t you tired?"

Silence lingered within the darkness.

Then a tall, slender figure emerged from behind the rock wall.

The man wore a sharply tailored black uniform with a crimson letter R embroidered across the chest. The insignia was especially striking beneath the dim light.

"Tch. You truly deserve your reputation as a League Special Advisor."

Proton brushed the dust from his sleeve, his voice carrying its usual frivolous edge.

"I specifically ordered them to suppress our energy signatures to the lowest possible level, yet you still discovered us."

Two more people stepped out from behind the rock wall and silently positioned themselves on either side of Proton, forming a fan-shaped formation around Asher.

"Team Rocket."

Asher’s gaze swept across the emblems on their chests, but his expression did not change.

"What’s wrong? Kanto can no longer contain you, so you’ve come to Sinnoh to cause trouble?"

Rather than becoming angry, Proton casually raised his hands and applauded twice.

"Interesting. You’re even more entertaining than the intelligence reports suggested, Mr. Asher."

Proton lowered his hands and narrowed his slender eyes.

"Since you already know who we are, there’s no reason for me to speak in circles."

"Oh?"

Asher raised an eyebrow.

"Then what do you want?"

Proton abruptly changed his tone, lowering his voice until every word carried an intensely persuasive quality.

"Team Rocket possesses a perfect genetic sequence extracted from a fossilized eyelash belonging to Mew. Using it, we created the most powerful Pokémon weapon in human history."

His gaze suddenly sharpened.

"Although Mewtwo’s combat abilities are unparalleled, it lacks stability. We believe it must be reconstructed and enhanced using power from a higher dimension."

Asher’s expression finally changed slightly upon hearing this.

"What if we used the space-time power of the twin dragons to grant Mewtwo absolute control over time and space?"

Proton spread his arms, the mountain wind making the hem of his uniform snap violently behind him.

"Imagine it, Mr. Asher—a perfect Mewtwo possessing psychic power alongside control over the laws of time and space."

"It would no longer be an ordinary Pokémon. It would surpass Mew, surpass the twin deities of time and space, and perhaps even surpass every Pokémon known to humanity!"

"That’s an ambitious idea."

Asher chuckled softly.

"But there’s one problem. You can’t even enter the rift’s core, so how do you intend to extract its energy?"

"That is precisely why I am here."

Proton lowered his arms and fixed his gaze firmly upon Asher.

"You can move freely along the edge of the rift. That proves your tolerance for and control over this violent energy far surpasses anything our current technology can achieve."

Proton stepped forward and extended one hand toward Asher, his tone so sincere that it almost sounded genuine.

"Mr. Asher, what has the League given you? An advisory title? A fixed salary? The suspicion of a group of old men who do nothing but hold meetings and argue?"

"Come to Team Rocket. Join us."

"Power, resources, and the most advanced scientific support available—whatever you desire, Boss Giovanni can provide it."

"Are you finished?"

Asher’s tone was indifferent.

"Then listen carefully. The only reason I haven’t dealt with you is that you haven’t crossed the line yet. Did you truly believe those petty tricks of yours could escape my notice?"

The smile on Proton’s face stiffened for an instant.

"You want to touch the power of the twin dragons of time and space?"

Asher’s voice turned cold.

"You aren’t qualified."

"Go back and tell Giovanni that if he entertains any more ideas like this, I’ll personally pay him a visit for a little conversation."

Proton remained silent for a moment before slowly withdrawing his hand.

"What a pity."

All warmth disappeared from his voice.

"You’ve made an unwise decision, Mr. Asher. But that’s all right. Team Rocket possesses no shortage of patience."

He stepped backward twice, the hem of his black uniform merging with the shadows along the rock wall.

[Ash]: Team Rocket! It’s Team Rocket again! Why can’t these people ever leave us alone?!

[Lance]: Proton is one of Giovanni’s executives who specializes in covert operations. The fact that he was personally dispatched to Mount Coronet proves that Giovanni values the twin dragons of time and space far more than an ordinary target.

[Steven]: Using the twin dragons’ power to modify Mewtwo? The plan sounds like the script of a third-rate science-fiction movie. But considering Team Rocket’s research division, they might actually manage to create something.

[Raihan]: Come to think of it, when Proton said the League does nothing but hold meetings and argue, I actually felt that he had a point.

[Leon]: Raihan, don’t let the villain manipulate you.

[Raihan]: I only meant that we have too many meetings! I never said I wanted to join Team Rocket!

[Lorelei]: Traitor!

[Phoebe]: Spy!

[Glacia]: This warrants a thorough investigation.

[Raihan]: Wait, wait! I was wrong! That really isn’t what I meant!

[Lance]: So you admit you said it?

[Raihan]: ...

[Leon]: @Raihan, farewell, brother.

[Raihan]: Get lost! I’m not going to die!

The video continued playing.

Cynthia and Tiana arrived at the temporary camp on Mount Coronet.

The camp was extremely simple. Several moisture-resistant sleeping mats had been spread across a level section of rock, while a portable data terminal rested on a folding table.

Professor Carolina sat on a folding chair, leafing through an ancient book. When she heard approaching footsteps, she raised her head.

"Tiana! My precious little darling!"

Professor Carolina stood and opened her arms.

"When I heard something had happened at Mount Coronet, your great-grandmother moved the entire research institute here!"

"Great-Grandma!"

Tiana ran over and hugged Professor Carolina.

"Why did you personally come all this way at your age? What would we do if something happened to you on the journey?"

"Something happening to me?"

Professor Carolina patted her head.

"For my great-granddaughter, something this minor is nothing."

Tiana blinked her mismatched eyes.

"Great-Grandma, did you discover anything?"

"I did."

Professor Carolina adjusted her reading glasses.

"Over the past several days, I examined every ancient text in the research institute concerning Sinnoh’s creation myths."

"Dialga governs time, while Palkia governs space. The two of you should already be quite familiar with that."

Professor Carolina pointed at the two symmetrical draconic silhouettes displayed in the center of the screen.

"However, Sinnoh’s ancient records also describe a third Pokémon—Giratina, which governs antimatter and the underworld."

Tiana’s mismatched eyes widened slightly.

"Antimatter?"

Professor Carolina nodded.

"To put it simply, it is an existence completely opposite to the real world."

"These three Pokémon share the same origin. All three are primordial powers that have existed since the creation of Sinnoh."

"Dialga and Palkia are the two pillars that allow the world to function, but friction will inevitably arise between two pillars."

"So that’s why they’re always fighting?"

Tiana tilted her head.

"That is one way to understand it."

Professor Carolina adjusted her reading glasses again.

"Giratina is the balancer. Its responsibility is to intervene whenever the powers of the twin dragons of time and space clash too violently."

Cynthia’s pupils contracted slightly.

"So Giratina is attempting to restore the balance between Dialga’s and Palkia’s powers. However, because the seal prevents it from intervening directly, it can only strike the barrier from the other side of the rift, which is instead accelerating the rift’s expansion."

"Exactly."

Professor Carolina nodded.

"It is merely attempting to fulfill its responsibility, but the seal has distorted its power and reduced it to its current state."
