The video continued playing.

The Canalave City Pokémon Contest Hall was shaped like an enormous pearl oyster split open down the middle.

Rows of audience seating extended upward in circles from the edge of the stage, every seat completely occupied.

"Thank you all for waiting! The Canalave Contest officially begins now!"

"The judges for today’s competition are Mr. Contesta, head of the Pokémon Contest Committee!"

"Mr. Sukizo, president of the Pokémon Fan Club!"

"And Canalave City’s very own Nurse Joy!"

Marian enthusiastically introduced the judges before presenting a Ribbon, its image appearing on the enormous screen for everyone to see.

"The winner of today’s competition will receive the Canalave Ribbon!"

"And now, the first round—the Appeals Stage—is about to begin!"

As the audience focused on the stage, one Coordinator after another stepped forward with their Pokémon to perform.

The atmosphere gradually climbed toward its peak.

"Next, please welcome our following contestant, who is also participating in her very first Pokémon Contest—Tiana!"

"Let’s see what kind of spectacular performance she has prepared for us!"

The lights dimmed for an instant, and the curtains at the center of the stage slowly opened.

Tiana looked especially striking in her performance outfit.

She wore a short dark-gray jacket over a white shirt, with a narrow purple ribbon tied around the collar. A pleated skirt in a matching shade completed the outfit, along with a pair of black ankle boots.

Tiana raised one arm and threw her Poké Ball.

It traced an arc through the air, while the sparkling effects from its Seal left a slender trail resembling a shooting star.

"Take the stage, Garchomp!"

The Poké Ball burst open in midair.

Interwoven beams of dark-blue and golden light erupted from within. They rotated and twisted together above the stage like a compressed galaxy expanding into existence.

The beams descended, and Garchomp’s figure appeared within the light.

Tiana raised one hand and snapped her fingers.

"Use Sandstorm!"

Garchomp immediately threw back its head.

A rapidly rotating cloud of sand materialized around its body.

The grains surged beneath the stage lights, forming a flowing curtain of sand that partially concealed Garchomp’s figure.

"Now, use Dragon Claw!"

Brilliant green Dragon-type energy surrounded both of Garchomp’s claws.

Its claw tips plunged into the curtain of sand and swept across it in smooth, flowing arcs.

Drawn by the Dragon-type energy, the grains curled along both sides of the lines and formed intricate patterns, as though a living dragon made of sand were truly swimming across the curtain.

"Dragon Tail!"

Green Dragon-type energy gathered around the tip of Garchomp’s tail.

It swept horizontally across the bottom of the sand curtain.

The sand was carried upward by Dragon Tail before exploding above the stage, transforming into countless tiny golden lights that scattered like a miniature meteor shower.

"Dragon Rush."

Tiana raised her hand and pointed directly above the stage.

Garchomp kicked powerfully against the floor and launched itself into the air.

It twisted its body as dark-blue Dragon-type energy spread from its chest across its entire form, enveloping it like a blue-and-golden meteor.

Garchomp plunged from the highest point, passing through the still-falling grains of golden sand.

It traced a spiraling path through the air, completed a full rotation, and landed steadily beside Tiana.

Garchomp straightened its body and held its right claw against its chest.

Tiana stepped forward at the same moment, and together they bowed slightly toward the audience.

The entire audience had been deeply captivated by the performance.

Once they recovered, thunderous applause and cheering erupted throughout the Contest Hall like an incoming tide.

The three judges offered their evaluations.

"Absolutely astonishing! The golden points of light created by the falling sand, combined with the blue trail left by Garchomp’s descent, made it appear as though a real dragon had flown directly out of the picture! The strength and beauty of a Dragon-type Pokémon were blended together magnificently!"

"Remarkable! I like it very much!"

"Every movement, from the entrance to the final bow, was performed with complete composure. Garchomp also appeared exceptionally relaxed throughout the routine. That is truly difficult to accomplish!"

There could be no doubt.

With such a high-level performance, Tiana and Garchomp received the highest possible score.

A perfect thirty points!

[Regular-Seat Chat Group]

"A perfect score! A perfect score! I stood up and applauded right in front of my screen!"

"I already recorded that final shot of Garchomp descending! I’m making it my screensaver tonight!"

"Why is the chat so quiet today? Usually, the comments are moving so quickly that no one can read them."

"Because everyone is recording the performance, you idiot! Who has time to type?!"

"Hahaha! That’s actually true."

[VIP Chat Group]

[Steven]: @Wallace, you’re driving me crazy! Why have you stopped talking at a moment like this? Hurry up and give us your evaluation, you bastard!

[Wallace]: Don’t disturb me. I’m appreciating it.

[Steven]: ?? Appreciating what?

[Wallace]: Art. This is the kind of performance I have always pursued! Tiana presented everything I have always wanted to see!

[Steven]: Could you speak like a normal person?

[Juan]: Wallace, provide your professional assessment first. You may discuss art afterward.

[Wallace]: First, Tiana chose Sandstorm as the foundation of her performance. That decision alone was extremely daring because sand is exceptionally difficult to control. The slightest mistake could have negatively affected the entire presentation.

[Wallace]: However, from the opening to the climax, she progressed through four distinct layers—Sandstorm, Dragon Claw, Dragon Tail, and Dragon Rush. Each stage built upon the visual foundation established by the previous one while introducing a new element.

[Wallace]: Tiana’s control over the rhythm of every stage was flawless. That is the true essence of a Pokémon Contest: allowing the audience to witness a side of the Pokémon that they would never ordinarily see.

[May]: Master Wallace gave her such high praise!

[Dawn]: Whoa, that was amazing! I want to create a performance that wonderful too!!

[Ash]: While I was watching, I only thought that it looked beautiful. After hearing Master Wallace explain it, I realized that every movement actually served a purpose!

[Lisia]: Tiana’s talent is truly astonishing~ Her performance outfit also has a wonderful color scheme. The dark gray and purple ribbon perfectly complement Garchomp’s colors~

[Valerie]: Ms. Lisia thinks so too?!

[Kiawe]: I’m more interested in seeing Salamence’s Mega Evolution. Didn’t Tiana say Salamence would participate in the Contest Battle?

[Lana]: The Contest Battle is definitely going to be even more spectacular! I can hardly wait!

[Tate]: This is the first time I’ve watched a Pokémon Contest so seriously. I never knew a Dragon-type Pokémon could appear so elegant onstage. It’s completely different from the impression I had of them.

[Liza]: That’s because your image of Dragon-type Pokémon is far too stereotypical!
