[Description: A legendary Pokémon that lives at the bottom of the sea. Along with Rayquaza and Groudon, it has existed since ancient times. It possesses the power to create oceans and is the embodiment of the sea. Its eternal rival is Groudon, which holds the power to create continents. ]

When Kyogre surfaced from the depths, Rio was finally able to view its level information. It was identical to Groudon’s.

"What do you want? This is Hoenn, not Sinnoh!" Kyogre’s telepathic voice echoed in Rio’s mind, sounding panicked.

"I’m warning you — my big brother is Rayquaza, and my little brother is Groudon! If you attack me, you’re in trouble! Leave now while you still can, and I’ll overlook this intrusion!"

Rio laughed at that. Rayquaza might not care, but if Groudon heard Kyogre calling it "little brother," it would probably fly — even though it couldn’t.

Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina also found this hilarious. They had just beaten up Groudon — and Groudon was desperate to beat up Kyogre. Hearing this was pure comedy.

"Dialga~" — Oh, I’m so scared! Since you’re that tough, why don’t you call them over? Otherwise, the three of us and Mewtwo here will have to take action~

Dialga taunted.

Kyogre’s expression stiffened. Call Groudon and Rayquaza? How? First of all, even if it could reach Groudon, that flightless idiot would take forever to get here — Kyogre would be dead by then. And even if Groudon did show up, it would definitely side with the other four against Kyogre. As for Rayquaza — there was no way to contact it.

"Dialga~" — What’s wrong? Suddenly can’t call them anymore?

Dialga laughed again as Kyogre fell silent.

"Palkia~" — In that case, Kyogre, we can only say sorry. Brothers — go!

Palkia raised its right hand and fired an Aura Sphere. Dialga followed with another Aura Sphere. Giratina threw a Shadow Ball. Mewtwo reverted from Mega Evolution to its base form and fired an Aura Sphere as well. The reason Mewtwo had reverted was Dialga’s suggestion — if Mewtwo fought in Mega form, it would be too unfair. It would knock Kyogre down too quickly, and then where would the fun be?

Kyogre, facing four incoming attacks, used its divine move Origin Pulse. Five blue orbs gathered around it, firing blue beams. The beams intercepted two of the Aura Spheres, but Giratina’s Shadow Ball and Mewtwo’s Aura Sphere got through — sending Kyogre flying backward.

"Don’t push it!" Kyogre growled, having taken two hits.

"Palkia~" — So what if we push it? Hit me if you can!

Palkia’s expression was utterly punchable. It found that ganging up on other legendaries was incredibly satisfying — especially when the victim couldn’t fight back. It was a good thing Rio had already captured Rayquaza before coming to Hoenn — otherwise, this wouldn’t be so easy.

"Giratina!!!" — Enough talk. Just beat it!

Giratina charged at Kyogre, using Dragon Claw. Kyogre tried to counter with Aqua Tail — but the gap between it and Giratina was like the gap between it and Rayquaza. It was completely outclassed. Kyogre was sent crashing down by a single Dragon Claw.

Dialga, Palkia, and Mewtwo joined in, and from that moment on, Kyogre endured a four-on-one beating. Gengar wanted to join, but Rio refused — Gengar had already participated in the Groudon beatdown. This one was Mewtwo’s turn. Too many attackers would drop Kyogre too quickly — and Rayquaza hadn’t even joined yet.

Just as Rio finished explaining, a dragon’s roar echoed from above. The rainfall caused by Kyogre’s awakening immediately dissipated. A green dragon emerged from the clouds.

"Rayquaza~" — Big brother! Save me!!!

Kyogre saw the familiar green figure and shouted in excitement. It had once hated that green color — hated it for always interfering when Kyogre and that idiot Groudon were fighting, always beating them both. But now? It loved that green. It had arrived at the perfect time.

"Rayquaza~" — You’re all finished! My big brother is here to save me!

Kyogre boasted to Dialga and the others. Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Mewtwo exchanged glances, then looked up at Rayquaza. They stopped attacking and withdrew several dozen meters, wearing mischievous grins.

"Rayquaza~" — Scared now, are you?! I told you — my big brother is the strongest Pokémon in the world, second only to the creator!

But Kyogre didn’t notice their grins. It thought they had retreated because Rayquaza had intimidated them. The four’s smiles only widened at Kyogre’s words.

"Palkia~" — You’re right — we’re so scared~

Palkia pretended to be terrified.

"Dialga~" — I, the Time God, am truly frightened!

Dialga also put on a fearful expression.

"Giratina!!!" — Should I bow down to show how scared we are?

Giratina joined in the act. Only Mewtwo didn’t know how to pretend. It just said: "I’m scared too — your big brother is indeed too strong. Please ask it to go easy on me."

"Rayquaza~" — Being scared is the right call — but it’s too late now! Just wait till I deal with you!

Kyogre was thrilled to see their reactions. But that thrill didn’t last three seconds before it froze. Because its "big brother" landed — not in front of Kyogre, but in the middle of Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Mewtwo.

"Rayquaza~" — Big brother — you’re on the wrong side! You should be over here with me!

Kyogre quickly corrected. But Rayquaza was glancing at the four idiots around it with exasperation, having witnessed their over-the-top acting — which they were still continuing.

"Dialga~" — Brother Rayquaza, why are you on our side? You should go stand with your little brother Kyogre!

Dialga continued its obnoxious performance.

"Palkia~" — Yes, Brother Rayquaza — you shouldn’t be with us! Go over to your little brother Kyogre and help it beat us up!

Palkia was equally insufferable.

"Giratina!!!" — Go on, go on! This is the Sinnoh Three and Mewtwo’s spot! You’re from Hoenn — go support your little brother!

Giratina was just as bad.

"The Sinnoh Three are right, Brother Rayquaza — go over to Kyogre and help it beat us up." Mewtwo joined in, its youthful face showing no mercy.

"Rayquaza~" — Come on, Brother Rayquaza! Come over here!

Kyogre, still oblivious, didn’t notice anything wrong. Finally, Rayquaza decided to stop playing along and shattered Kyogre’s illusion.

"Rayquaza~" — Actually, I’m here to join them in beating you up.

Kyogre was struck dumb. "Rayquaza~" — What did you say?! You’re here to join them in beating me up?!

"Rayquaza~" — That’s right.

Seeing Kyogre’s shocked expression, Mewtwo and the others burst out laughing, no longer pretending.

"Dialga~" — Sorry, little Kyogre — Rayquaza’s already on our side. We planned this together.

Dialga gloated.

"Palkia~" — Get ready to be beaten!

Palkia was already forming an Aura Sphere.

"Giratina!!!" — Don’t look, kid — close your eyes and it’ll be over soon.

Giratina laughed heartily. Mewtwo silently formed its own Aura Sphere.

"Poor Kyogre." Rio, who had witnessed everything through Gengar’s translation, couldn’t help but pity it. It really was tragic — it thought Rayquaza was coming to save it, but it was coming to beat it up. That was a fall from heaven to hell.

Even Flygon beneath Rio felt sympathy. Kyogre, just close your eyes and take it.

"Kyogre~" — What did I do wrong?! Why are you doing this to me?!

Kyogre was furious and bewildered. It had been sleeping peacefully, done nothing wrong, then got woken up and, upon surfacing, was immediately gang-beaten by the Sinnoh Three, its own big brother, and some unknown Pokémon.

"Rayquaza~" — You did nothing wrong, Kyogre. We’re just itching for a fight — you can be our punching bag.

Rayquaza didn’t want to waste more words. It charged at Kyogre and sent it skidding across the sea with a Dragon Tail. Dialga and the others stopped gloating and joined in.

The sight was truly pitiful. Kyogre had no room to fight back.

Meanwhile, news of Kyogre being beaten up reached Steven. When he learned Rayquaza had appeared again — just like with Groudon — and was helping beat up Kyogre, he was at a loss. What had Groudon and Kyogre done to deserve this treatment? What crime had they committed in the legendary community?

The Sinnoh League, informed by Hoenn, was also in shock. At first, they didn’t believe it — until they received a distant photo of the battle. Their three legendary gods had really gone to Hoenn and joined Rayquaza in beating up Groudon and Kyogre.

Then they remembered: first Palkia had been ganged up on in Eterna City, then Giratina, then Dialga. Now their gods were ganging up on other legendaries. Was being beaten up contagious? Did it create a chain reaction — one legendary gets beaten up, so it goes and beats up another? Would the legendaries of other regions — Kanto, Unova, Galar — be next?

While the Sinnoh League pondered this, Kyogre’s beating was nearing its end. Seeing how pitiful it was, Rio called off Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Rayquaza, and Mewtwo.

"Alright, Kyogre — you have two choices. One: be captured by me and become my Pokémon. Two: keep getting beaten." Rio smiled and called out to Kyogre.

Kyogre looked at him, then at Rayquaza and the others. It realized that these Pokémon had all been captured by this human.

So... "I choose to be captured. But I have one condition — give me a chance to beat up Groudon."
