Chapter 380 - 378: As Long as You Pay Enough Spirit Stones, We Can Even Help Find a Taoist Companion (Part 1)
But before that, Celeste Grant had one more thing to do.
Out of the several million Core Disciples throughout the Bloodfiend Den, over seventy percent were male cultivators, while the rest were female cultivators—a severe gender imbalance. In other words, all those tall, long-legged, handsome Demon Cultivators with their eight-pack abs were going to waste.
So, before going into seclusion, Celeste Grant planned to solve this problem first. She wanted to marry them all off—no, that wasn’t quite right... she wanted to help them find wives.
She had mentioned before that she wanted to play matchmaker for the male and female cultivators who were interested in each other but too shy to express it. Now, it was finally time to put that plan into action.
The Bloodfiend Den’s businesses now spanned The Cultivation World, and its disciples were all quite wealthy. Since they had money, it was time to address one of life’s major events.
She couldn’t be the only one enjoying the good life.
It was time to set up each of her sisters in the sect with a handsome young man of their own.
In recent years, as the reputation of Demon Cultivators improved, a fair number of female cultivators in The Cultivation World became willing to marry into the Bloodfiend Den, but they were still a minority. When searching for a Taoist Companion, most female cultivators still wouldn’t choose a cultivator from The Demonic Sects, preferring a well-matched partner from an Immortal Sect. As a result, the Bloodfiend Den was drastically short on women, giving it the highest concentration of single guys in all of The Demonic Sects.
This situation was so dire that whenever these Demon Cultivators saw a pair of dogs on the side of the road, they felt an urge to split them up. If a bored Demon Cultivator spotted a pair of fish swimming lovingly in the water, he would stare at them, let out a wicked cackle, and then snatch one to toss in the river to the north and the other in the river to the south.
He might even mutter something like this:
"I haven’t even found a wife, yet here you are, all lovey-dovey. Get away from each other! You’re splitting up, right now!"
And don’t even ask. The answer is yes, they were absolutely capable of doing it.
The Cultivators of the Bloodfiend Den were powerful, but they couldn’t help their fierce and menacing demeanor. More importantly, they were terrible with words. Every time they opened their mouths, it was either threats about gouging out eyeballs or a stream of profanity. If a female cultivator so much as glanced at them a few times, the embarrassed Demon Cultivator would snap, "What are you looking at? Watch it, or I’ll twist your head off." There was a reason they were all single, and they had earned it themselves.
Needless to say, one only had to look at Javier Sinclair back in the day to understand.
To solve the marriage problem for the men under her command, Celeste Grant decided to launch a Taoist Companion matchmaking service—The Cultivation World’s version of a marriage agency. As long as you paid enough Spirit Stones, they could help you find a Taoist Companion.
She got right to work.
「That afternoon.」
Celeste Grant called a meeting and proposed the idea.
「In the Council Hall.」
She sat in her seat, her fingers absently tapping the table. Her gaze swept over the crowd before her hand stilled. "Regarding this Taoist Companion matchmaking service," she began, "what are all your thoughts on the matter?"
The crowd broke into whispers, all agreeing that her proposal was excellent.
"I think Our Lady’s proposal is excellent."
Another person said,
"I agree. The men under my command don’t have Taoist Companions yet."
Celeste Grant glanced at them and began to explain. "Here’s what I’m thinking. Besides Cultivation, everyone needs some emotional support. You should be able to have your own families. Just look at how happy Rook and his wife are now. The path to immortality is long, and cultivating alone can be quite lonely. If you can find a like-minded Taoist Companion to walk the path of Cultivation with you, the rest of your life certainly won’t be so dull.
"Having someone to protect, respect, and love you is a wonderful thing, just like my relationship with your Exalted One. Of course, this service is for Cultivators who want a Taoist Companion. As for those who prefer to live alone, there’s no need to force it. After all, everyone has a different idea of what kind of life they want to live."
She paused here for a moment.
After a brief pause, she continued, "From what I understand, over eighty percent of the male cultivators in our Bloodfiend Den are single. We’re on the verge of becoming known as the bachelor capital of The Cultivation World. As the lady of the Bloodfiend Den, it’s my duty to look out for you all in this regard."
Hearing this, everyone present couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
One of them slapped the table, roaring with laughter.
"Hahaha! The bachelor capital!"
Another person chimed in.
"Damn, it really is like that! Speaking of which, my own mother gave me hell the last time I went home. She said, ’What’s the damn point of being so big and strong with such high Cultivation if you can’t even bring a Taoist Companion home?’ She told me not to even bother coming back next time if I didn’t have a wife with me. She even kicked my ass on the way out. Talk about a tragic injustice!"
Hearing this, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but laugh. It seemed that even in The Cultivation World, you couldn’t escape your family nagging you about getting married.
Celeste Grant raised a hand slightly, and the room immediately fell silent as everyone looked at her curiously.
Celeste Grant glanced at them and said, "This is exactly why I want to launch a matchmaking agency, to solve the problem of everyone finding a wife."
At these words,
the Hall Masters rose to their feet.
They thought it was a fantastic idea.
"Let’s do it! This is great! My Lady, we’re all for it!"
"I agree as well. Just a while ago, my men were complaining about how they envied other people who had wives."
"Yes, yes, we agree too! To be honest, I’ve wanted to find a Taoist Companion to cultivate with for a long time."
’Our Lady is just the best.’
’She’s even thinking about helping us find Taoist Companions.’
The elders, on the other hand, weren’t interested in finding Taoist Companions for themselves. Their minds were completely devoted to the development of the Bloodfiend Den and their own Cultivation. While they weren’t personally invested in finding partners, they didn’t object to the plan either.
It was just as their Lady said: the Bloodfiend Den had too many men and not enough women. In the long run, this wasn’t a good thing. If they could successfully launch this matchmaking project, more children would be born in the Bloodfiend Den in the future, ensuring the sect would continue to thrive for generations.
There was another thing.
’Since Our Lady proposed it, it must mean that this matchmaking agency, while helping everyone, is also certain to be a profitable venture for earning Spirit Stones.’
"We support you, My Lady."
"We support it too."
Not a single person objected.
Celeste Grant nodded slightly. "Since there are no objections, the matter is decided. We will first open this matchmaking agency within the territories of The Demonic Sects. If the business proves viable, we can expand it to the entire Cultivation World."
"Yes!"
"We’ll follow Our Lady’s lead!"
The crowd’s cheers were deafening.
The news reached the disciples of the Bloodfiend Den in a matter of moments. When they learned that their Lady was going to such lengths to help them, a bunch of lonely bachelors, find wives, they were moved beyond words.
"Help us find Taoist Companions? Is something so wonderful really happening?"
"Our Lady is the best!"
"Long live Our Lady!"
"We swear fealty to Our Lady until death!"
"We swear fealty to Our Lady until death!"
The disciples placed their hands over their hearts and bowed in unison in the direction of the Bloodfiend Den’s main hall.
’Joining the Bloodfiend Den was the best decision they had ever made.’ Many other Sects didn’t value the lives of their disciples, treating them like cattle to be used and discarded. When needed, disciples were expected to fight and die for their Sect, shedding their very last drop of blood. When they were no longer needed, they were abandoned without a second thought.
But the Bloodfiend Den was different.
