Celeste Grant felt like a mere spectator. She was happy to see her country growing stronger and developing steadily.

But it was time for her to leave.

More than a year had passed since Celeste Grant had come to this world.

Her son was now sixteen years old and had shot up in height, nearly catching up to his own father.

When the father and son went out together, anyone who didn’t know them would assume they were brothers. No one would guess they were father and son.

That afternoon, Celeste Grant called her son and Javier Sinclair for a family meeting. The housekeeper, Nana, was also present.

"Mom, you called for me?"

"My lady, you called for me."

The father and son both looked at her, ready to receive their orders. It was true; in this household, both father and son deferred to her, so her status in the family was unquestionable.

In the living room, Celeste Grant looked at the father and son sitting on the sofa and began, "I need to discuss something with you. We’ve been in this world for over a year now. It’s time for us to go home."

’I miss Mom and Dad in the Cultivation World,’ Celeste thought. ’I miss Nerida and Elder Lawson, too.’

’This world is where I was born and raised, and I can always come back for a visit,’ she reasoned. ’But the Cultivation World has my family, my friends, and all the loyal subordinates of the Bloodfiend Den. I’ve been away for too long. It’s time to go back.’

Celeste Grant hadn’t done any Cultivation in the year she’d been here. The main reason was the scarcity of Spiritual Energy; if she were to cultivate, she could probably drain the entire area’s Spiritual Energy dry in a single night. Only by returning to the Cultivation World could her Cultivation progress.

’And I haven’t forgotten my goal: to ascend to the Upper Realm and see that vaster world for myself.’

Hearing her say she wanted to go back, Javier Sinclair and his son had no objections.

Aaron Sinclair was thrilled. He grinned and said, "Mom, when are we leaving? The Spiritual Energy here is so thin I haven’t been able to cultivate all year. It’s time to go back and train. I miss Aunt Nerida, and Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle, and Elder Lawson! I’m sure they’ve been waiting for us to come back."

Hearing her son list all those names, Celeste Grant knew he wanted to go back too. After all, he was a stranger in a strange land here. With his wild and rebellious nature, being in this world was like being a fierce beast locked in a cage. After so long, he would naturally prefer the unrestrained life of the Cultivation World. Besides, the people he knew were there, so he would feel more at ease.

Thinking of this, Celeste Grant smiled.

"Alright. We’ll leave in a couple of days."

"But before we do, we need to handle our assets here."

Aaron Sinclair chimed in, "When we go back, I want to bring lots of snacks. And seeds for vegetables we don’t have in the Cultivation World, so we can plant them and eat them later."

Celeste Grant smiled and nodded. "No problem."

Hearing they were leaving, Nana Warren raised her hand and exclaimed, "Young Master, Miss, if you’re leaving, what will I do?" She started to cry. "I don’t want to leave you! Miss, I’m yours in this life and the next! Please don’t leave me behind!"

’She could definitely live well if she stayed behind, but she was an orphan. In this world, she had no relatives besides the matron of her orphanage. She had come to see Celeste Grant and the others as her real family.’

Seeing Nana’s world-ending expression, the corner of Celeste’s mouth twitched. She looked at her and said, "Nana, have you forgotten something? Your boss—me—is a capitalist. We agreed you’d work for me for three thousand years. How long has it been? There’s no way you’re leaving."

"I must keep working." Nana’s eyes reddened as she threw her arms around Celeste. "Miss, I’m not leaving! I want to follow you forever! I’m yours in this life and the next!"

’In this whole world, Miss was the one who was best to her. That’s why she only wanted to follow her for the rest of her life.’

Celeste gently patted Nana’s shoulder and said, "You can follow me, but there’s something I have to tell you first. The choice will still be up to you, whether to stay or to come with me."

Celeste remembered the thread of kinship she had seen on Nana. It was faint, but it was definitely there. Thinking of this, she said, "Nana, I can see a thread of kinship on you. This means you might not be an orphan; you still have family out there. I didn’t say anything before because you seemed so carefree, and I was afraid knowing would upset you." ’But now that I think about it,’ she added internally, ’she has a right to know. It’s her life, after all.’

Hearing this, Nana froze. She had been an orphan for so long that to suddenly hear she might still have relatives left her completely stunned.

"Family?"

’Of course, she didn’t doubt her Miss’s words. After all, her Miss was a master cultivator. Finding out something like this wouldn’t be difficult for her.’

Nana was shocked to learn she wasn’t an orphan and still had relatives. And yet, in that moment, she felt surprisingly calm.

When she was very young, she used to dream that one day her birth parents would come to the orphanage to get her. They would tell her they had a good reason for leaving her, and their family would be reunited. But she waited for a long, long time, and eventually, she accepted it and stopped hoping. She could live a good life on her own, after all.

So now, knowing she wasn’t an orphan, the only thing she wanted to know was why they had abandoned her. Was it because they had no other choice? Or was there some other reason?

Thinking of this, she spoke up. "Miss, can you find out where they are? I want to meet them."

’I need to ask them directly.’

Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

"Alright. Wait a moment."

"I need a drop of your blood."

Nana Warren nodded immediately. "No problem."

Celeste Grant took her hand and casually made a small cut on her finger. With a flick of her own finger, a single drop of blood floated up before her.

Her hands formed seals as she used the Bloodline Traction Technique.

This was a common form of Magic in the Cultivation World, used to find one’s closest blood relatives.

Soon, an image of a street and a particular house appeared in Celeste Grant’s mind.

It was in B-City.

She saw a house number, and inside the home, a blind woman was fumbling about, holding a basket as if preparing to go outside.

Celeste Grant memorized the address—No. 78 Willow Lane in B-City. The entire neighborhood was filled with old houses.

When Celeste Grant opened her eyes, there was a hint of surprise in them. She looked at Nana, thinking of the woman from the vision and her difficult life. ’Perhaps there’s a reason for all this,’ she thought. ’That woman didn’t seem like someone who would abandon her own daughter.’

"No. 78 Willow Lane in B-City. The person I saw should be your mother. She doesn’t seem to be doing well. You should go see for yourself and find out what really happened."

She reached out and grabbed Nana’s arm. "I’ll send you there right now."

As she spoke, the two of them vanished from the living room, teleporting directly to their destination.

Seeing them vanish, the father and son still sitting on the sofa exchanged a look, then stood up and, in a flash, disappeared as well.

「Meanwhile...」

「B-City.」

Celeste Grant had already brought Nana to the place from her vision. Because they had arrived so quickly, the blind woman had only just left her house and hadn’t gone far.

They materialized just a short distance away from the woman.
