Night fell over Bloodfiend City.

The city was ablaze with lights.

On a street in the city, Celeste Grant walked at a leisurely pace, her arm linked with Javier Sinclair’s.

A night breeze blew, and a lock of long hair brushed against her cheek. She glanced to the side and saw it was Javier Sinclair’s hair, draped over his shoulder. She reached out, pushed it back behind him, and said, "Your hair is blowing in my face. It tickles." ’Still,’ she thought, ’my Archfiend’s hair feels as smooth as silk.’

Hearing her, Javier Sinclair stopped and tilted his head slightly to look at her.

The corners of his lips curved into a slight smile.

Javier Sinclair rested a hand on her shoulder, leaning in close to her. "It’s the wind," he said. As he spoke, another gust lifted the hair on his shoulder, letting it brush faintly against her face and nose.

Celeste Grant’s nose tickled, and she couldn’t help but sneeze. She looked up, glared at him, and exclaimed, "Morgan... you did that on purpose! My nose is so itchy! Morgan!"

He chuckled softly.

"Heh!"

Meeting his smiling gaze, she raised a hand to rub her nose and shot him a look. "Javier Sinclair, you’re so childish. How old are you, anyway?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Javier Sinclair was in high spirits. He wrapped an arm around her waist and murmured, "Your husband has always been a very serious person. Childishness is not in my nature."

’After all this time together, how could I not know what kind of person Javier Sinclair is?’ She pinched his arm. "You can put on an act for others, but don’t pretend with me. As if I don’t know what you’re really like."

Javier Sinclair leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He held Celeste Grant by the waist and whispered, "Still, my wife knows me best."

"Good, as long as you know." Celeste Grant smiled faintly and continued walking with her arm in his. After a short distance, she stopped.

Javier Sinclair, standing beside her, turned to look at her. "Why have you stopped?"

"I’m tired. I’m not walking anymore." As she spoke, she raised her hand and gestured to him. "Squat down and carry me."

"Mm," Javier Sinclair grunted, already bending his knees and half-squatting in front of her. "Hop on."

Seeing him squat down, Celeste Grant draped herself over his back and wrapped her arms around his neck. Javier Sinclair reached back to support her legs and lifted her up.

Clinging to him, Celeste Grant rested her head on Javier Sinclair’s shoulder. "Archfiend, your shoulders are so broad. This is what it feels like to be safe."

Javier Sinclair said coolly, "From holding you."

Lying on his back, her fingers idly stroked his chin.

"Stop it, that tickles."

Celeste Grant tilted her head to look at his profile and laughed. Her fingers continued to brush against his chin, then his other cheek. "So, the Archfiend can be tickled."

"My dear husband... my darling husband... Archfiend, it’s so good to have you."

"You’re always just sweet-talking people."

"That’s right. Sweet-talking you."

Javier Sinclair blushed.

"Let’s go home."

"Archfiend, you’re blushing."

"Celeste Grant, you are provoking me."

"This isn’t provoking. This is called ’flir—’"

Her voice trailed off, but the word fell clearly into his ears.

Javier Sinclair stopped and glanced sideways at the woman on his back. He raised an eyebrow and murmured, "This isn’t the right place for that, out in public. If my wife is in such a hurry, we can find somewhere else."

"Hurry...? What am I in a hurry for? Don’t be ridiculous, I’m not."

"No... you are."

The moment Javier Sinclair finished speaking, he took a step forward. The two of them walked into a spatial vortex that had appeared, and their figures vanished from the city.

Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered outside Daisy Grant and Gideon Forrest’s bridal chamber. They were squatting all the way from the window to the doorway, each one trying to eavesdrop on the excitement inside.

Several Demon Cultivators were huddled by the door, cackling sinisterly.

"Stop pushing..."

"You stepped on my foot."

"You guys think our brother-in-law’s physique can handle it?"

"Am I the only one who’s curious about Daisy and our brother-in-law... who’s on top and who’s on the bottom?" one of them asked, poking his cheek with a lecherous grin.

"Why isn’t there any noise?"

Just then, the door was yanked open from the inside, and the Demon Cultivators crowded at the entrance tumbled on top of each other, sprawling on the ground.

Daisy Grant stood in the doorway, still in her wedding clothes. She was tall and solidly built, and she glared at them like a mother tiger.

She bellowed at the top of her lungs, "Sam Warren, I knew it was you guys! What do you think you’re doing? Scram! If anyone dares to disturb me, I won’t hesitate to beat you to death." As she spoke, she cracked her knuckles loudly.

The Demon Cultivators who had scrambled up from the ground just laughed heartily.

"The moon is so lovely tonight! We were just passing by to see if our sister and brother-in-law needed any help."

Another one nodded repeatedly, scrambling for an excuse. "Right... I dropped two Spirit Stones and was looking for them. I just found them now. I didn’t expect my search would lead me right outside your bridal chamber, sister."

Someone let out a wolf-whistle.

"Daisy, we’re here to be your lookouts! We’ll make sure no one disturbs you and your husband."

Daisy Grant put her hands on her hips, grinding her teeth. "Could your excuses get any lamer? Get lost, all of you! Or I’ll beat you up one by one."

"Don’t be like that, Daisy! We’re leaving."

"Leaving right now."

In just a moment, the area outside was empty.

"Good thing you know what’s good for you."

With that, she slammed the door shut.

Daisy Grant turned around and saw the male cultivator in red robes, standing in the dim light.

Her little heart started pounding. THUMP, THUMP, THUMP.

Daisy Grant felt a little nervous. Tonight was her wedding night with her Taoist Companion, and they were supposed to do... what needed to be done. Thinking of the little picture books she’d read before, and the art of dual cultivation, her face flushed crimson.

Gideon Forrest was already sitting by the bed, waiting for her.

’This really does feel a bit like I’ve taken a wife,’ she thought. ’Heaven has been kind to me, granting me such a fair-skinned, beautiful sweetheart.’

Seeing her approach, Gideon Forrest stood up shyly. He walked over and took her hand.

"Daisy."

"Leo Forrest."

Their eyes met, seeing only each other. Daisy Grant looked at the male cultivator before her, feeling like she had hit the jackpot. "Leo Forrest, I, Daisy Grant, will never let you down."

’Such a handsome husband... This is something I could only have in my dreams.’

Seeing her make a vow, Gideon Forrest laughed. He squeezed her hand. "Daisy, I should be the one saying that. I will be very good to you. I will never fail you in this life. If I break this vow, may my Divine Soul be obliterated, and may I suffer a terrible death."

"Spit, spit... Don’t say such things! We’ll both be fine." She reached out and hugged him. ’From now on, this is my Taoist Companion.’

"Daisy, I like you so much."

"Me too."

She let him go and saw his gaze fall upon her arm.

Daisy Grant raised her arm. "Want to see? My arms are really strong."

His eyes lit up. "Can I?"

Daisy Grant took his hand. "From now on, you can look at them whenever you want."

’Damn it, this is so embarrassing!’
