Chapter 10. Aesthetic Measures

Since that summer, the Kingdom of Leaden began construction at the Royal School. Funding and manpower were put to build a huge school building that lit up the castle about 15 kilometers west of the Kingdom of Leaden.

Although there was a concern that the construction was too large and it was too much, the general responsibility of the construction site was resolved once Caroc decided to take over. He was also a great enough spirit to build a garden and a mansion in the morning.

The construction proceeded at a dazzling speed as Chancellor Carroc went to work every day instead of at the palace. It took less than a minute to make the ground, so I was done talking. At this rate, officials were encouraged to complete within a month.

Likewise, the people of the Ledon Kingdom felt relieved every time Caroc's magical powers were demonstrated. As long as there was such a great spirit, this country would be safe.

In this regard, Emperor Kars agreed.

* * *

The Horn Emperor was immersed in a study of aesthetic measures by the order of Emperor Kars.

The inner strategists of the Horn Empire have been troubled by tactical countermeasures to how to fight against the animist Carroc. However, any use of weapons and martial arts could not be a fundamental countermeasure to animosity.

Flying in the sky hides in the earth. If you cause an earthquake and destroy the castle in a heartbeat, you will also build an architecture in the wasteland overnight. How are we supposed to fight a war against an enemy that doesn't make sense?

“When the nomadic cavalry attacked while fighting in the plains, walls can rise from the front. ”

“Maybe we can fly to our rear guard station and hit the supply depot. ”

“If we ambush our allies while hiding underground, we'll have to attack them on our own. ”

“There's magic in detecting ambushes. However, there is no way to tell if there is a Spirit in the ambush... ”

“Gosh, I'd rather deal with two Dukes of Meutt." ”

Compared to magic and swordsmanship, spirituality was too free to use. Emperor Kars, who revealed his talents as a strategist, was worthy of a foe.

Now that we have not found a tactical countermeasure, we have no choice but to ask the wizards to study it.

A magical army boasting the Horn Empire has been studying spirituality at the behest of Emperor Kars since two years ago. However, the amount of support for the Magic Soldiers' research has changed. It is an important matter for conquest of the continent, so we have put in enormous research costs, as well as unlimited amounts of spirit stones and other expensive materials. That's how careful Emperor Kars was with Caroc.

Like that, since we have all the support we need, did the Magic Corps like it?

Rather, it was the opposite.

The larger the support, the more pressure the Magic Troops felt on their performance.

I felt the skin on how much Emperor Kars was looking forward to, so I hung on to my research day and night to do something about it.

“Master.”

“What happened? ”

Earl Ruogel, commander of the Magic Corps, asks. The young servant wizard shakes his head.

“Sorry, no progress. ”

“Damn it.”

Earl Ruogel groans.

Earl Reef Ruogel.

Madosa is 64 years old and has had a long history of magic in her 6 circles. He was not as great a wizard as Earl Raymond of the Orient Kingdom, who reached the Seven Circles, but was the first to do magic in the Horn Empire.

I've never had a chance to learn a lesson like this in my life. ’

Earl Ruogel is in a hurry.

He was already in his early 40s when he reached the vicinity of 6 circles and surprised the entire continent. I gathered a lot of expectations within the Horn Empire, judged as the only talent to catch up with Marquis Raymond at the peak of the Wizards.

Earl Ruogel was also inspired by his rosy future. One day, I decided to become the Great Wizard and approach the center of power in this country.

But over the years, I was in my mid-60s.

For more than 20 years, his magical level has not progressed at all. It was the end of the line.

No one expected him to be the Great Wizard anymore, and he was frustrated himself.

But the dream of a powerful man did not give up.

Earl Ruogel again became aware of the young emperor's great ambition.

The war is an opportunity. If you raise a large ball, you can become the most powerful person in a short time. Even if he's not the Great Wizard.

And a study of his mystical, aesthetic countermeasures led by a magical army. This was the greatest opportunity given to Earl Ruogel.

Emperor Kars was most wary of Leaden's Chancellor, Caroc Ligand. Once you find an aesthetic countermeasure, you will be the biggest player in conquest of the continent.

But…….

“I've located a device that can sense the spirit's energy, but there's no way to contain it! ”

The results of the study were not completely absent.

After a desperate study, I developed a magic that barely senses the spiritual energy. However, there was a disadvantage that this‘ Spirit Detection Magic ’needed to be consumed one Spirit Stone each time it was opened. However, it seemed to be working just by making such magic.

But there was little practicality.

If you consume that expensive Spirit Stone and use it to cast Spirit Detection Magic, it will only last for an hour. If we keep magic for 24 hours a day, we will consume 24 Spirit Stones. You think that's what Caroc ligands do, knowing when and where they'll show up?

"I can't do it. I didn't want to get more involved with them... ’

Earl Ruogel's gaze shimmers profoundly.

That night, Earl Ruogel, who secretly left the palace, crossed the unpopular streets of the night.

I wonder how long it's been.

Earl Ruogel stops walking in front of a shabby lung.

It was once a large, presumably well-lived house of symbols. However, as if the owner had been missing for decades, it was worn out and broken and full of cobwebs. There was no light, so there was more gloom.

Earl Ruogel frowns into his lungs.

His lungs were so dark that he couldn't see anything, but he felt the popularity of many people.

“Just the place for you. Isn't the darkness just like the inside of you? ”

Earl Ruogel makes fun of you.

Then one of the young men in the dark replied.

“Begging your pardon. We're more comfortable with the darkness. ”

Soon, the lamp lit up and the lungs lit up.

Six men appeared on the old couch, dressed in black robes wrapped around a circle.

The old man in the middle laughs, looking at Earl Ruogel.

“It's good to see you again. You've come back to us again, don't you think that's a bad performance? ”

Earl Ruogel gritted his teeth without taking any action.

Black wizards.

These people who have gone deeper into the darkness are publicly treated parasites everywhere on the continent. Not an exception to the Horn Empire.

Earl Ruogel did not want to borrow the power of these scum.

However, Earl Ruogel reached out to the people who had spent a tremendous amount of money studying animistic measures and had no success. If it was dark magic, I thought there might be a clue.

It was as expected.

The Black Wizards at least knew more about animosity than the common wizards.

With the help of the Black Wizards in exchange for a great deal of money and safety, Earl Ruogel was able to barely give Emperor Kars a small feat. That was spirit detection magic.

Now that I have the clue, I know what I can do with the magical soldiers' abilities.

However, he did not get the results, and he came back to visit the Black Wizards again.
