“Are you the one saving the mercenaries? ”
A middle-aged man suddenly approached and spoke to Mitchell.
“Is that so?”
I was a mercenary by the looks of it.
He was a tall guy with a big body, but his arms were especially thick with spears. From the scars you see around you, you look like a mercenary who's been through the anthill war.
But Mitchell was cautious because the mercenaries speaking first didn't seem to have the same good intentions.
A middle-aged man said.
“I am Brahman. I'm leading a group of mercenaries from the tribe. Apparently, you're the disciple of a precious family. What's your name? ”
“I'm Mitchell of the Rhodeok family. ”
Brahman was surprised to hear that.
“The Rodoke Erl, the postnatal family? ”
“Yes.”
“I see you've met a noble man. ”
Brahman's tone became somewhat respectful.
“Then why is the Confederate recruiting mercenaries here while the Jehovah is fighting the Horn Empire on the Baden River? I also heard that you're going to the Kingdom of Leaden. ”
“It has nothing to do with my family. I'm student council president of the royal school, and now I'm student council president. My students are fighting the invasion of the Horn Empire at the Marquis of Ligand Village, and I've been tasked with supplies and mercenary support. ”
“Surely the great house of treasure is the home of King Leaden, if it is indeed a Ligand. But even if we hire mercenaries here to rescue the place, how are we supposed to support 70,000 troops? ”
“There is a way. ”
That's all Mitchell cared about and said.
“Mmmm... ”
Brahman realized that there was something he shouldn't say.
He gives you a moment's thought, then opens his mouth.
“I lead 123 mercenaries, all veterans who have experienced countless wars both large and small. ”
123?
Mitchell was surprised because he was a mercenary larger than he thought. Brahman continued:
“I've been working in the Orient Kingdom for a while, and I recently lost my job because of the threat to the invasion of the Horn Empire. That's why I came to this country after keeping a small request from the mercenaries and looking for a big job as a result of this war. ”
“But?”
“The son of the Lodok Erl is looking for a mercenary, which interests me. Going to Kingdom of Leaden seems very dangerous, but I want to take a job because I don't think a rich and precious family member will do anything reckless. So I'm saying, do you have enough money to hire us? ”
“Like you said, I am the three sons of a wealthy and precious Erl Rhodeok. In addition, as the proud student council president of the Royal School, I was also subjugated by His Majesty. You think I'm gonna find a mercenary without money? ”
“Of course not. ”
“I'm going to ask you a question. Can I count on you to hire me? ”
“We Brahmin mercenaries are primarily commissioned by a majority leader or higher. They're not hiring because they're ugly and they have no credibility. Especially if it's as important as war. ”
Mitchell didn't seem to think this Brahman guy was lying.
“If you take care of business, I'll pay you a generous commission. But first, I'd like to take a look at your mercenaries. ”
“Very well. Follow me. ”
Mitchell lets the group wait inside the village, and leaves town alone with Brahman. The Brahmin mercenaries were stationed just a few miles from the village.
The mercenaries were enjoying their free time in an orderly fashion. A group gathered and drank alcohol and burned cigarettes, raising gossip. Some people silently manipulated their weapons and gambled cards.
Brahman shouts.
“All hands, fully armed! ”
The furious mercenaries gather armed with the armor and weapons you also took off.
The mercenaries quickly regrouped into groups. Mitchell was somewhat surprised to see them restored order in a short time.
‘Seeing that order is in order, it's not a bunch of damn scoundrels. ’
Moreover, the weapons and armor the mercenaries possessed seemed of excellent quality. It looked like a trusted mercenary.
“Reporting the number of men in each platoon. ”
At Brahman's words, the mercenaries at the head of each platoon shout.
“Squadron 1, squad 2, all clear! ”
“Two squadrons, 20 men or more! ”
“Three squadrons, 20 men and no more! ”
…….
So I finished reporting to the 6th platoon. A total of 120 in each platoon of 20. The total number of Brahmins was 121.
“I heard there were 123, but I'm short two. ”
In Mitchell's words, Brahman shakes his head.
“Please wait a moment. ”
“ ……? ”
Mitchell didn't know what was in English.
After a while, two men, who had robes on their armor, came staggering from the corners of the camp. Unlike the rest of the mercenaries, they were completely unarmed, and neither Brahman nor the others found it strange.
Brahman explained.
“These are the wizards of our mercenaries. They're both special treatments as high wizards in four circles. ”
“Ah……. ”
The mercenaries with wizards are the best. Mitchell decided to hire them somehow.
“Now, what do you think? ”
“You seem like a good mercenary. ”
“I'm glad you have faith in us. So, I'd like to talk specifically about the quest, but what specifically should we do? ”
“Protect the villa of the Marquis of Ligand from the Horn Empire. The mansion is probably surrounded right now. ”
“How can we defend the already surrounded mansion? ”
“I'll tell you about it then, but there's no problem getting into the mansion. ”
“Well, I'm honestly worried that even if I trust your word, I'll be able to defend the mansion from 70,000 generations of the great Horn Empire. ”
“Not all seven of them are in the mansion, and we don't have to defeat the Horn Empire, we just have to hold them off until the time comes for them to retreat. And just like entering the mansion, there's no problem in escaping in the middle of a dangerous situation. ”
“Hmm……. ”
Brahman thought of the bear.
The members of the mercenaries he leads were veterans with high personal value. As a mercenary commander leading such members, he was obliged to ask for a large commission.
Due to the ambition of the Horn Empire's war, both the Kingdom of Ledon and the Kingdom of Orion were prepared for war, and all disputes between the lords ceased. Of course, the brahmin mercenaries who were the main source of income in heavy jobs such as the Territory War were less evil.
I've been making maintenance money on every minor task like a Mercenary escort to maintain the mercenary army, but I'm also putting in some effort. That's why we decided to venture into the Great War between the Horn Empire and the Kingdom of Leaden and make a huge fortune.
To do that, I needed to meet a big employer who could pay me a lot of money. The three sons of Erl Rhodeok, a post-Jesuit royal family member, Mitchell Rhodes, seemed not to be such a bad client, although he had nothing better to do with a super-era employer such as the Kingdom of Leaden or post-Jesuit.
The quest looked a little risky, but it was too risky to run a war.
Moreover, this Mitchell Roddock looked smart. He was not a great man to bring himself to the brink of death. Although I was young, I saw leadership driving work with a clear vision.
At the end of the garage, Brahman said:
“I'll tell you what, we're quite expensive. ”
“I promise you you'll get more than you deserve. ”
As such, Mitchell has succeeded in hiring a Brahman mercenary.
According to Mitchell, he needs more troops, Brahman has recruited mercenaries to accompany him on the quest. A large mercenary commander like Brahman gathered quite a lot of mercenaries.
Only when he had filled up exactly 200 people did Mitchell feel confident that he could return to the Kingdom of Leaden.
‘Hang in there, John. I'm coming!’
