Primordial Awakening: My Bloodline Evolves Infinitely

Chapter 67: Infinite Possibilities

’Infinite?’ Leonard’s mind raced. He had never heard of such a thing until now.

Making sure he wasn’t merely glossing over it, he read it multiple times to ensure he wasn’t mistaken.

’Ridiculous... Here I thought I had discovered most of the advantages my Primordial Bloodline bestowed upon me, yet it turns out I haven’t even scratched the surface until now.’ He realized, baffled.

Short on time, he checked the presented classes. The list was long, and it would take him too long to examine every option carefully.

But ironically enough, he noticed that he wasn’t able to afford most of them. After reaching Level 10, he had a grand total of 510 Evolution Points, while the vast majority of classes were priced in the four-digit numbers and higher.

"It’s a blessing that I don’t have a limit. There is no need to stress over what to pick, nor do I have to delay getting a class just to obtain enough evolution points." He mused, filtering out the too-costly options and leaving only those he could afford.

Leonard’s eyes fixed on one particular class with a price of 500 evolution points.

"Of course, taking into account everything, this is the most suitable starting class for me..." His lips curled into a knowing smile. "Now that I think about it, Ragnar perhaps had the same class long ago."

He made his choice.

[You have gained a new Class, Viking!]

Power surged through Leonard’s body. He felt every fiber of his muscles strengthening as they bulged with newfound power.

The fatigue built up from the recent battle with the Orc Shaman felt insignificant. His mind felt clearer, and his senses sharpened to new heights.

[The Viking class has bestowed you with the starting Skill: War Cry.]

[The Viking class has bestowed you with the starting Traits: Thunder Blessing, Axe Mastery.]

"A skill and two traits, right off the bat! Having a class is truly game-changing!" Leonard rejoiced.

He first checked his newly acquired skill.

[War Cry - Level 1]

[Rank: Rare]

[Increases the damage and defense of yourself and your allies by 10%. Slows down the movement of all enemies by 20%. The duration of the skill is 1 minute.]

[Usage cost: 30 Mana.]

[Upgrade War Cry to the next level: 20 Evolution Points]

Next, he inspected the traits.

[Thunder Blessing - Level 1]

[Boosts your affinity for lightning by 20%. All lightning damage you receive is reduced by 50%.]

[Upgrade Thunder Blessing to the next Level: 4,000 Evolution Points]

[Axe Mastery - Level 1]

[Damage dealt with axe attacks is increased by 25%. Your throws become 40% more accurate. Additionally, your strikes cause minor buildup of Hemorrhage.]

[Upgrade Axe Mastery to the next Level: 8,000 Evolution Points]

"Incredible..." Leonard blinked slowly, lost for words.

The War Cry skill was useful in practically every situation, while his traits, Axe Mastery in particular, provided passive boosts that would prove invaluable.

After he spent the 10 attribute points, he checked his final status.

Name: Leonard

Level: 10 [Experience: 0/1,500]

Bloodline: Primordial

Classes: Viking

Vitality: 21

Strength: 20

Agility: 18 → 20

Endurance: 24

Magic: 30 → 38 (x2) → 76

Mana: 600 → 760

Attribute Points: 10 → 0

Evolution Points: 510 → 10

Traits: Accelerated Manaflow, Hardened Physique, Devoted Summons, Silver Blood, Thunder Blessing, Axe Mastery

Titles: Lumberjack, Inquisitor, One Man Army, Lone Diver

He decided to invest two points into his Agility, bringing it to the 20 mark, while the remaining eight points went into his Magic. Thanks to Silver Blood, which doubled the attribute gains, they effectively turned into 16 points.

[Mana: 150/760]

However, it wasn’t time for celebration. While Leonard had been dealing with the Orc Shaman, Valor and Joker had remained locked in battle against the dragonkin, steadily depleting his mana.

Racing forward, he neared the battle against the monster. Even from afar, he noticed that the party wasn’t faring well against it.

Although he was at risk of running out of mana, he had to support them. For that reason, he activated his newly gained skill, hoping it would help turn the tide of battle.

[War Cry activated!]

A powerful roar erupted from his mouth that resonated throughout the entire chamber.

"Bro?!" Winston, along with the rest of the party, was momentarily startled by the powerful roar.

Yet a second later, system prompts appeared before their eyes, informing them that they had been buffed.

"Now that’s what I’m talking about! It seems the Commoner isn’t as useless as I thought!" Russell declared, charging forward. He noticed that the dragonkin had been affected as well, his movements slowed to an extent.

Elizabeth’s icy gaze shifted toward Leonard.

"Did you attain a class?" She asked, with a rare surprise in her tone.

He merely nodded in response, conjured another Dragon Slayer, and hurled it toward their adversary, targeting the rear.

The dragonkin yelled in pain as another javelin pierced its back, inflicting yet another wound. Rage began to build, its attention fixing on Leonard once more.

This time, however, the creature wasn’t going to let itself be distracted by the others.

"Charging in blindly makes your movements predictable!" Leonard declared.

In turn, he aimed with Titanic Oath. Now that the precision of his throws was boosted, he had greater confidence in them hitting their mark.

Yet, as he sent the projectile flying, the dragonkin caught the axe with his tail, keeping it in place.

"Ice wall."

Before the creature collided with Leonard, Elizabeth created several protective ice walls, slowing down its movements even further.

Leonard used the opportunity to reposition and recalled the axe back into his grip. The dragonkin didn’t know the weapon had that feature, so its hold hadn’t been firm enough to prevent it from returning.

[Mana: 40/760]

"I’m almost out of mana!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. No mana meant Valor and Joker were going to vanish!

"Shut up and fight!" Russell yelled in response, throwing a mana potion straight at Leonard’s face. "That was my last reserve! Are you happy now?! I swear, if we don’t get out of this alive, I’ll kill you myself!"

[Mana: 440/760]

Although the way he went about it was questionable at best, Russell proved helpful, allowing Leonard to fight for longer.

"Tch!"

The dragonkin clicked his tongue in displeasure. If things continued as they were, he was actually going to lose!

"Preposterous! No way I, a creature of a superior race, would fall to some lowly humans!"

The monster changed tactics. Rather than targeting the biggest threat, he sought to extinguish the lives of those he deemed weakest.

For that reason, his crimson eyes settled on Brian, the man who had been nocking arrows from a distance. Although none of them had managed to break past his scales, it would certainly make things easier without him in the picture.

Not to mention, perhaps killing one of their own would discourage the party.

"Everybody! The dragonkin is changing targets!" Leonard warned, sensing the change through Joker.

Sadly, he wasn’t fast enough. Despite the debuff caused by War Cry, the monster moved before anyone could stop it.

The dragonkin appeared right behind Brian and opened his maw wide.

A heartbeat later, his jaws closed, devouring Brian’s head in a single bite and killing him on the spot.

The party was down to six members.
